Remarks
I got admitted to the School of Commerce (SOC) at Devi Ahilya University (DAVV) last month. The Admission process was straight and simple, through CUET-UG. Talking about the College, the first expression was actually good, the infrastructure and campus were up to the mark. The takshila campus is quite big, It has buildings of all the departments, has the central library, an Indian Coffee House, a wardon office, all the sports grounds, racing tracks, a daycare hospital, and whatnot within the campus only. The main gate of the campus gives a proud feeling to the students. Talking about the faculty, they were not what I expected, some teachers are pursuing Ph.D. so they are students and teachers at the same University. But Overall experience is Good. You get to study in the most reputed university in the whole of Madhya Pradesh, and that's a proud feeling.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum of b.com (accounting and tax management) is not that good in my opinion. But The honors course in IIPS college is actually very good. The faculties are friendly and have a helping nature. The gender ratio in my class is 1:1, and that's a good thing. The teachers are Ph.D. students so they are quite knowledgeable.
Internships Opportunities
Not that many internship opportunities are available for traditional courses. But You can get internships in departments like IET, SSCIT, MBA, in the last year. Just opposite the DAVV takshila Campus there is IT PARK, so tech students can approach there for internships
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is quite less as compared to good private colleges. But the Best thing is you get to apply for a lot of scholarships like medhavi, category wise, aawas, so basically most of the students here are studying for free as they get all the money returned whatever they paid.
Campus Life
Campus Life is very good, there are social groups in which you can enroll according to your preference. There are groups for each sports, to play any sport the only thing you need is a physical education card (PE Card) from the school of physical education, it takes some time say some weeks, but once you get it you get to play any sport.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is not that good, like what can you expect from a government hostel. But it is kind of decent, there are common bathrooms, two people live in a room, and the food quality is good in the mess. The thing is the government hostel is quite cheap around Rs.1600 per month. Some of my fellow classmates are staying in private rooms and PGs pay Rs. 6000 as Rent excluding mess charges.
