IIT Goa, B.Tech, Mathematics And Computing

Reviewed on Jan 1, 2023(Enrolled 2021)

Remarks

I don't think so, but if things will be in offline mode then it will be better for the people who even did not know, how to use a mobile phone. Because it is too much difficult for them to do these things.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

This is the most important course I think because it is a mixture of maths and computers and I love maths but I also like to study computer science that's why I chose this branch. all the faculty is very good they have done their Ph.D. with a very prestigious institute. there is 6 month semester which is not so much difficult to pass out.

Class Size: 29Course Fees: INR 62000 per year

Placement Experience

After 5 semesters students are eligible for campus placement. the highest package on our campus is 1.2 cr and the average is 1600000, the students who are appearing in placement, all are placed because the 1st batch of BTech is passed in 2020. I think I will do a master's in the future.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am from the sc category and due to this I did not pay tuition fees but it is good because my family is not able to pay my fees.I took an education loan for my fees submitted. There are scholarship like NSP which is good and internship is also very good the company gives a maximum of 50000 stipends .and if they like your work they offer you do the direct job in their company.

Campus Life

The annual fest is cultured which will happen in March and tech fest is Cepheus 22. and also there is a library in our college but it is not big because we all are suffering from the campus so we are just using gec campus which is the goa government engineering college. there are too many groups like Meraki and Orion.

Reasons to not Join this College: By a ex-student

Likes

The surroundings is quite mesmerizing...

Dislikes

The faculties are rude and extremely toxic.
The faculties don't have clear understandings of the syllabus.. the lack of alignment with prescribed syllabus leads to high failure rate with nearly 60% of students failing in each semester
Quite often the semester examination papers include topics that were not covered by the teachers in class. in My class 23/75 students got block(year back). Which must be highest rate of failures across entire India

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is the same across all the 5 colleges It's too outdated to be studied Not relevant for modern-day job markets Students often have to study different materials to crack a job. Youtibe is best solution to clear the concepts

Best BITS

Likes

zero % attendance policy and freindly seniors and no ragging and vibrant culture

Dislikes

less campus area and sports timings are limited

Placement Experience:

Placements are good like averages of chemical is 12 lpa and there is good placement percentage ratio like 75 percent and if in case of no placements further study is possible option as bits have connection to many best institues in the world.

The only thing that I like about the college is the environment the college is built in nothing else

Dislikes

Everything from the infrastructure to the campus to the faculty to basic facilities everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course same to be around 50 years old and which is not updated we as students studying bachelors in engineering need new updates in our courses every year so that we know what is new in the market

First of all it was government college..
The college has a huge campus and a good infrastructure
College background is also good enoughh.

Dislikes

Surroundings area is not clean enough and not maintained
It is a long distance to cover everyday.
Don't have a proper ground to play around

Course Curriculum Overview:

I myself wanted to bebin this course as it has bright scope. It is very attractive in real world. the area needed to be cleaned and well maintained and hygiened as well. And the class timing are not good enough . They keep classes as they want.

GEC REVIEW BY A STUDENT

Likes

The campus is good, lots of air and good weather. Good facilities, decent food spots around and faculties are also good mostly. Masters courses are available in some departments.

Dislikes

There are cows roaming around as well as dogs so there is a lot of rubbish on the roads. The college is situated on a hill so getting there is a challenge for bus travellers, Canteen is horrible, so is the workshop. Security is non existent.
Anyone can come during college hours and even kill you and nobody will do anything.

Placement Experience:

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.

Likes

The campus is new and in hostel one room for one person and the room is really good , we have everything which you need in a room enough lights fan a good cupboard
70 percent of the campus (other than boys hostel) looks nice ..they have greenery , a smol park like area in front of girls hostel and and good classrooms , professors are okaish

Dislikes

Many times hostel water tank gets empty ..so no water not even for drinking for hours and electricity went sometimes not much and one big problem is the internet inside the hostel , outside our hostel network comes but inside no signal
They have a wifi which don't work well and not much range of it ,it's a big problem we face everyday . The food is not good , below then avarage it got degraded since we came to new campus . It's been a year in this new campus
Only one basket ball and vollyball court for sports , no ground ,nothing . There is one ground in front of boys hostel where no grass only needle like rocks if you fall your bone will be cracked and , recently they started to let sevagewater out init

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is okay okay but not that great . Mech and civil don't have that much package avg of around 6 lakh and i guess only 10-11 got placed .. and 16-17 was eligibile for it. For eligible to placement you don't have any backlog in any subject and some minimum cgpa required too

Trusted experience of Iit goa

Many students has the doubt of selecting best branch or college, I would say going for the branch yeah it's true that high collages have high placements but it's doesn't guarantee uhhh to get a job uhh must have the best knowledge so gain the best knowledge is best course instead of low branch and then doing other courses. Taking best branch lead you to higher position and every iit has its good placement and bad too but here in goa almost it's very good rather some guys who ignore....Read More

IIT Goa Review

Completing engineering from IIT is like a dream come true for every engineering student. IITs not only provide good placement but learning and the exposure and opportunities that we get is unimaginable. I also wanted to be part of IIT and I really worked hard for the GATE exam but frankly speaking, I am an average student and my GATE score was between 755 to 860 according to me ad my preference is IIT Goa was the best option. To be part of IIT Goa I need to clear the GATE exam that I did and I should have a minimum of 55% marks. My academic qualification was according to IIT Goa. During my research, I realize that IIT Goa fits into my preference not because it provides good placement but the college also has good research programs and good educational standards. That is why I opted for IIT Goa....Read More
