Goa College of Engineering, Goa commonly known as GEC was established in 1967 mainly for providing technical education in the field of Engineering. Currently, the college offers UG in 7 streams of B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering), PG in 9 streams of M.E. (Master of Engineering), and 5 streams in Ph.D.

Admission procedure for the courses is done on the basis of merit & cut-off in the Entrance exams. For B.E., one has to qualify the GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test) entrance and for M.E, one has to qualify in GATE.

GEC Goa Admission

It offers admission to B.E under UG and M.E under PG along with Ph.D. courses. Admissions in Goa college of engineering is based on cut-off obtained in GCET for B.E & GATE for M.E. respectively. Students are required to obtain a minimum of certain % aggregate marks in the 10+2 to become eligible for admission in B.E & complete UG course for M.E. For Ph.D., PG will be required. Additionally, seats for SC/ ST/ OBC category are reserved in all UG courses as per guidelines of Government of Goa.

GEC Goa Placement

The College has Training and Placement cell to look after the Training and employment prospects of the students. Following are the facilities available in Goa College of Engineering:

  • Library- Goa College of Engineering has its own library which contains all kinds of books for students. The college library is fully computerized which can accommodate more than 300 students at a time. The library currently holds 87,000+ books, magazines, and journals. 
  • Computing Centre- Goa College of Engineering has computing centre with more than 80 functional PCs in line to the computational and technological needs of the students. The entire campus is connected by the fibre-optic network through wireless networks.
  • Cafeteria- The college has a spacious cafeteria catering to nutritional requirement of students at an affordable price.
  • Auditorium- Goa College of Engineering has an auditorium which is used for organising various inter and intra college events, activities and seminars.
  • Hostel- The institute provides residential accommodation facilities for UG & PG students. There are five hostels for boys with an intake capacity of 120 each on a sharing basis. There are two hostels for girls with a total intake capacity of more than 280. All hostels are having independent mess facilities & are provided with internet Wi-Fi connections.
