Course Curriculum Overview

4

The reason for choosing the course is that I always had an interest in Technology and NIT Silchar is providing the course with good faculty and the placement scenario is also good. The faculty: student ratio is enough for all the classes. The faculty teachers are good and we also have tutorial classes for doubt-solving. Exams are conducted frequently every semester and yes we can pass the exams with average marks.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The companies that offer internships are amazon, Goldman Sachs, and MATLAB with stipends of 60k-80k per month. Roles are as a trainee for the company. For getting an internship in those companies one must have a strong grip on coding DSA and Algorithms and must have a project.

Placement Experience

4

In the 7th semester, students become eligible for placements and can sit in placement rounds till the end of the 8th semester if they are not yet placed. A lot of tech companies like Microsoft, amazon visit during campus placement and they recruit a lot of students. The highest placement is 44 LPA and the average package is 15 LPA . 74% of the students eligible for placement got placed. After getting the degree I would like to work at a tech company and grow along my career.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees per sem are 75000 for all the semesters. But fee waiver is given to the students who provide income certificates. If your parent's income is below 5 lakhs then you have to pay around 29500. If your parent's income is below 1 lakh or if belong to the SC, ST, or PWD category of students then you have to pay around 8500-10000. There are many scholarships you can avail of while in college eg: from NSP, ONGC Scholarship, etc.

Campus Life

4

There are 2 grand fests Incandesence and Tecnoesis and the other 2 regionals Posua and Oikyotan. Incandescence is conducted in February and tech noesis in October. Most books and journals are available in the library. The library at NIT Silchar is the largest digital library in Asia. The classrooms are provided desk benches and the class dimensions are gallery structured and provided with projectors for better visualization. For sports, there is a sports complex that consists of a tennis court, badminton court, basketball court, and a gym. There are two grounds, one for football and another for cricket. There are numerous clubs in the college where you can show your talent. There is a singing club, dancing club, drama club, coding club, literary club, development club, eco club, etc. There are branch websites that are made by students for students and run by students.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are a total of 10 boys' hostels, 3 girls' hostels, and a hostel for married Ph.D. scholars. The rooms of each hostel are provided with a bed, chair, desk, personal almirah, etc. Bathroom facilities are also good but not best with running hot and cold water 24*7. The meal quality is enough for survival but not that good. Hostels are allotted during the beginning of each semester and hostels are quite affordable. And I have no idea about renting a room or PG nearby as most of the students either stay at a hostel or if they are day scholars they mostly have their home in Silchar.

Admission

The admission directly depends on your JEE score. The admission is processed through JOSAA, where you can fill out your application form, the cost of application fees is equal to 2000-3000 in JOSAA and application dates are mostly after the completion of JEE Advance exam. And after the JOSAA round is completed the documents are verified in offline while joining the campus. Reservation is provided to SC, ST, OBC, Gen-EWS, and PWD students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

See I had the passion for civil since my 10th std. I am really happy about my course . Because there are many job opportunities in govt sector in Assam. I like the teachers of my dept but some are not that friendly . Maybe it depends upon their mood sometimes I don't know really . The civil course is practical it's enjoyable. I would have liked it more if it would had more placement opportunities on campus . Otherwise it's fine

Its a good college. I feel lucky to read on this college. They faculty, the facilities is nice. The environment of the college is very good for education. The management cell of the college is also do grat jobs. But the main problem I have found is placement. According to the other colleges the placement of this college is not so good. If the college can give more placement then it will become a great college. Overall its a great college full of knowledge.
