Government Degree College for Boys Anantnag, BSC

Remarks

I think Hostel problem should be addressed.

Entrance Preview

I took JKCET in 2014 but could not score well. I opted this college because it's best college in my locality. Also it the best college in my district.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum system is good. One cant say it's 100% but it's something close to 90's.

Internships Opportunities

I am not interested in such things as i like govt job instead of private.

Placement Experience

Companies like Udaan, Himayat came and admitted many students at their centres. I cant say how many but 50-70 students have joined so far.

College Events

3.5

Freshers party for freshers is the most memorable event in college life.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is affordable for even poor students as it's 3000 per annum. t's a govt college so fee is less as compared to private colleges. I think it's too much affordable and cheap for everyone.

Fees and Financial Aid

I think under graduate scholarship and MOMA scholarship provided by college every year for that student, who having family income below 1 lakh per year.

Campus Life

3.5

I think the best thing in the college in terms of sports is the vast Football or cricket ground being enjoyed both by students and local teams. Debates are not being held in this college but there is no difference being regarded on the basis of gender, color , econmic or social status. Everyone is same and being treated equally.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I think hostels are not upto the mark. The food provided there is not good. Rooms aint that much good.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were good too. I have spent two years with them and have gained a lot of experience with them. As a new student when i was admitted in this college i was not much aware of what to do and how to get going and be friendly but they helped me.

Exam Structure

There are good labs with good ventilation and infrastructure available. Every lab is well dressed and well equipped with modern technological tools required for various purposes. I think Physics lab is one of the best among all.

Faculty

It's good staff there and pretty friendly too. Shakeel sir is one of the best Professor in our college. Teachers are good . They are well educated and qualified.

There is so much violence in a college .

College campus is best as we enter the college
Spending time with friends at the campus in free tym is just like awesome
All facilities are available in campus playground, swimming , library etc.

Dislikes

Canteen is small according to student population
Sitting space in canteen is not as much gud
Some appliances are not working properly

Course Curriculum Overview:

First of all, I had taken science in my 12th too, that is why I wanted to continue in science and due to my interest in physics and chemistry, I continued in this course. The curriculum provides me with Whatever is sufficient in my course and whatever knowledge I need, I will have more than that. Exam timing should be in the afternoon only because morning gets very late in coming due to which exam gets skipped, rest it is perfect

Government Degree College for Women- Academically marvelous with good infrastructure.

Likes

The campus beautiful and very well maintained. It has a beautiful playground and is located in the middle of the town.
This college is safe and secure for girls. It has some unique features like Committee Against Sexual Harassment, Anti Ragging Committee etc.
The campus has drinking water facilities, good canteen with good food and great administration.

Dislikes

The sitting arrangement for the students is not upto the mark.
The college does not provide good transportation facilities for students coming from far flung areas who face a lot of difficulty in reaching the campus.
The washrooms need improvement. The hygiene needs to be improved. More washrooms should be constructed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very interesting. The specific areas that influenced my decision are Number Theory and and Calculus. In this course we're taught everything that we need to pursue higher studies like M.Sc. The exams are conducted by University of Kashmir and the difficulty level is average. The faculty is highly qualified and the teaching method employed is to deliver a lecture and it can be improved by making the sessions more interactive and immersive by increasing the use of technology like smartboards.

Likes

College has a newly constructed classroom building of 5 -6 floors equiped with smartboards & new infrastructure.
Teachers are very cooperative & friendly with students
College has a great environment & far away from highway making it less noisy from traffic noise.

Dislikes

College has a very small campus size & no one is talking about that
College does not care about hostellers for instance we were drinking unpurified water from last year
Not clean drinking water for students, tastes sandy when you drink it no purifier

Course Curriculum Overview:

Information technology was my interest based course that I opted in.. but when I saw the course syllabus it was old & theoretical based, lacks new & fresh syllabus would not guarantee job. Course could be better if newly updated syllabus would be include. Despite having smartboards no one is teaching on them or talking about using them.. Exams & syllabus Easy because of old curriculam

The course has useful subjects that prepare you for real world application however the elective courses could use a better curriculum. The teaching methods of professors are very effective and interest inducing. We have 2 minor exams and 1 major exam at the end of the semester.

A Comprehensive Review for Anantnag's premier educational institution- Government Degree College, Khanabal.

I did not apply to any other college since this college is located in my vicinity and it appeared to be a balanced choice. This is because this college has all the features that a premiere educational institution must have like the smart classrooms, spacious classrooms, great faculty along with a good focus on extra curricular activities like seminars, debating, singing, dancing, gymnasium. Every thing was there so there was no need to go else where. Right now the college secures admission from among the students selected through CUET. I would like the admission process to smoothen out as the college accepts fees only through online mode due to which a lot of students face difficulty. The eligibility to get admission is to clear CUET along with the possession of relevant documents....Read More

No I was not rejected I just didn't apply. Oh man the admission process is really tidious and they need to work on it to make it easier. I would rate the admission process 1/10 in ease and 10/10 in difficulty. It's so stupid really....Read More
