Course Curriculum Overview
I choose civil engineering as I like to design buildings, bridges, railways, etc. The faculty-student ratio is quite good at IIT BHU Varanasi. The professors are highly talented and hardworking. They use different and unique teaching methods so that students could understand it in a better way. Exams will be mid-sem and end-sem. The exams are a bit difficult.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies visit our college for internships which provide stipends from 40000 per month to 80000 per month. The companies which visit our college are Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. The roles for which these companies visit are SDE, DA, etc.
Placement Experience
After 7th sem students are eligible for placement. The placement session begins in December. Companies which visit our college are Goldman Sacch, Amazon, Microsoft, L&T, etc,. The highest package last year was 1.05cr and average package was 24lakhs. Profiles are SDE, DA etc. Usually 100% placement takes place. I will be sitting for the placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
As I am a SC student my academic fee for 1 sem is 6415. There are many scholarships, and financial assistance given. You can apply for a scholarship and avail one scholarship per year. I think the fee is not too high.
Campus Life
Major fests include Kashiyatra Spardha and Technex which are conducted in January October and March respectively. There is a library where ample books are available. There are many sports and cultural clubs like cricket club, dance clubs, music clubs, hockey clubs, etc.
Admission
JEE Advanced is the exam through which admissions in IITs take place. There is a reservation for SC, ST, and OBC candidates as well as the reservation for girls. After JEE Advanced exam you have to apply for JOSSA counselling for the admission process. There you will get a seat in IIT and afterward, you have to pay the fee as given by the college and do the online registration. After online registration physical registration is needed to be done.
