What Students Say

Likes

The Campus is honestly quite beautiful not too small with lots of greenery.
The Campus Life is great, not too hectic and good coding culture.

Dislikes

The teaching faculty might use some work.
The administrative faculty is extremely uncooperative

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

ECE is one course which gives the best IT placements while also providing core sector opportunities Faculty: Student ratio is fairly appropriate and there is no shortage of staff The teaching faculty is extremely qualified as researchers but more teaching experience might be necessary The term exams were difficulty but not timely due to late admission during the COVID situation

Class Size: 200Course Fees: INR 250000 per year

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There are many internship opportunities in College. Pretty much every major company comes for internship season in the 3rd Year. Companies like Microsoft and Sprinklr are the highest paying internships with Sprinklr giving a 1Lakh per month stipend. All of these interns are also extremely helpful towards the CV-building procedure.

Placement Experience

The students can get PPOs from the 3rd Year and placements from the 4th Year. Most of the top companies in India do visit for on-campus placements. The highest package last time was off campus at 3 Cr per year. The average package is about 13 LPA. The placement percentage is quite good depending on a branch like MNC had a 100% placement. I plan to get a few years of job experience and then pursue an MBA

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are fairly affordable with a reservation-reduced structure and the cost to study is manageable. Scholarship opportunities are plenty and the College itself provides financial assistance for required students.

Campus Life

Annual Tech Fest is Concetto usually held in September or October. The library is one of the most decadent places in the institute with ample resources. Classrooms are just fine with no AC. Sports and extracurricular opportunities are abundant although time management becomes a problem There are an impressive amount of clubs, NGOs and societies which are open to recruitment.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The room is fairly alright and the new hostel is quite decked up. The meal quality is honestly just unremarkable. It's not good but not bad either. The initial registration is gruelling but later registrations are simple and smooth.

Hostel Fee: INR 13000 per year

Admission

The admission was taken through Jee Mains and then through Jee Advanced-based cutoffs. All the relevant admission procedures were handled to a point till JosAA and then handed over to the IITISM portal The cutoffs were significantly lower due to my reservations There should be a clear workflow as the portal is very cluttered

Professor are good and supportive and you can keep bike sk questions whenever you needed.

Mess food is not so good and if you taking hostel it is compulsory to take mess
Transpotation facility is not so good and you

Placement Experience:

From third semester students are allowed for internship and about the placement is about 5 to 6 lpa .Many students here are preparing for government exam like gate ,ies isro ,barc etc. And if you are not satisfied by placement from campus you can try off campus.

At the starting phase of college , we have a beautiful campus (which is not ours actually , its on rent ) loacted at Namkum, Ranchi. known as JUT campus, but after that things are not good.
Some what I liked the sports culture, but we don't have any sports Club yet.

Dislikes

Placements(actually there are students who are the coordinators for the placement group , there is no any particular advisor or any TPO head is there earlier...now there is one TPO coordinator but things are becoming worst there.
No grounds for any sports, we don't have badminton court indoors, so we have to wait for wind to settle before we can play outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually my branch is Electronics and communication engineering but my major interest lies in development area , i have gained all the skills in my college by my own taking some guidance from the seniors as they are very helpful and supporting. Improvements in course curriculum could be like they have to basically add one more course or any training program to help students for making skills and teaching them for their placements.(apart of the course , i am saying not because i am from ECE department , its common from any branch student)

I like their rules and regulation of college.
I like the annual sports, event, and cultural program.
Regular classes, labs, and time to time internal exams

Dislikes

Thing that I don't like is hostal cleaning, mesh food.
I think there is more rules and regulation for senior boys hostels.
From senior boys hostel they pass some comment to the girls

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is the proper mindset from the class I chose to study btech. The areas for improvement in the course curriculum are more labs to be conducted proper smart classes to be held.

college have great environment good facilities needed as per requirements ,college also have good spacious hostels and we can say better food comparing to what i heard from friends of different colleges ,the evening time is soothing and relaxing
a great senior junior interaction culture and memorable friendships letting you forget the world outside the campus, every festivals are celebrated with joy and fun ,from leaving a family to moving to another one you would love.
some of lectures are quite boring but some will amaze you with visionary thoughts ,every faculty will guide you if they see you lagging behind the course ,some extra sessions are also conducted, introducing new fields to think out of the box

Dislikes

things which i wish might get some improvements are sports facilities big grounds for sports activities students encouragement towards co-curricular activitiy, co-curricular activities get more support to come out with glorious and imagining skills.
fests do contain fun but due to time constraints before fests planning of amazing activities becomes difficult thus leading same things going on repeating, absence of good team leaders leading activities plays major role in activity failure and bored
night out time is a small problem, the area close to college is developing hence not having nearby much places for fun and chillouts spending your free time relaxing.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is average as during 2023-24 it was recession period all over the colleges are facing placements lags but still college students managed to achieve 22 lakhs+ off campus as well as 16 lakhs on campus placement. The college reached his highest placement of 51 lakh during 2023 ,the average package is 5-6 lakh and the placements percentage are 85 percent for cse students, the students completing 7th semester are eligible for on campus placement drive as well as off campus, some of the prominent companies visited are Microsoft, cognizant, samsung, byjus, infosys and 50 more.I will prepare for gate and after that i will try to get on and off campus placements which i will find better accept the offer.

First year experience in IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

I applied to this college through JoSAA process. I gave my 12th board examinations and qualified JEE mains (98.4 percentile) and JEE advanced. I got admission through JEE advanced rank. In JoSAA counselling , I filled various other IITs and NITs. In my rank ( 19181 in jee advanced general category), the best possible option I saw was this college. The fees were also reasonable. The college is closer to my home and has a glorious history in mining for 100 years. I chose this college over others because it is a very prestigious IIT. It is close to my home too. Also I liked the branch I got here. The admission process of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad in B Tech is through JEE advanced examination after which you need to fill JoSAA counselling. For M.Tech you need to qualify GATE examination. The overall admission experience was good. Earlier I was anxious as the whole system seemed a little overwhelming but the process was smooth. The fees are also affordable and in accordance to other IITs. After admission there was a document verification procedure too which again went smoothly....Read More

Review of IIT ISM DHANBAD

Firstly my dream is to go to IIT college because of its good placement and very big and beautiful campuses with all facilities. Secondly since my rank is 9k in jee advance . My first priority is circuital branch in first generation IIT so I prefer IIT ism Dhanbad electrical over computer science branch in second or third generation IIT . Secondly since I love physics I want to pursue that type of courses where logically thinking involved. Admission process is easy there is one portal name as jossa where you have registered yourself and then you need to fill the priority of college and branch according to your priority and rank you got college there will be 6 round in that if you don't got good college in first round go for further chances will be high you got good colleges. My suggestion is to consider both branch and college during filling the priority of your college selection since it will impact further during placements. For admission in IITs you must need to clear jee mains and advanced and atleast 75% marks in 12th board exam ....Read More

A Comprehensive Insight into IIT (ISM) Dhanbad

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad's admissions process is known for being quick and easy, making the process smooth for qualified people who want to pursue MBA and MBA BA studies. Importantly, applicants must meet certain requirements. Those interested can find full information on eligibility and reservation perks in the official brochure. The school is very clear about its reservation rules for SC/ST, OBC, and PWD groups; you can find this information on the admission .iitism.ac.in website. The CAT is required for both the MBA and MBA BA programs. IIT Dhanbad dosen't have a minimum CAT percentile for eligibility. Making a shortlist rests on how many applications there are and the range of CAT scores, which makes it hard to make predictions....Read More
