Harshit Joshi's Review On University Maharaja College, Jaipur

At last I would say that I have completed the BCA from an average college. Some part of my journey was good and some experiences were very bad. But overall college is good in my point of view if you want to live in Jaipur and want to do something else with BCA then this college would be best as you will get enough time to do other things.

I was selected in this college via 12th result. As in Rajasthan university, u are selected on the merit basis. And I was selected in the release of the first list. It is very easy to get admission in this college for particular BCA.

The course curriculum is very impressive and if a student has a passion for computer technology then this course does the justice to him/her. In the first year you will have the test of all the subject like English physics math language like basic c but after first year basic knowledge you will enter the professional world of computer knowledge. There will be languages like c++ to PHP javascript to Python. Overall the course curriculum is awesome.

No, the college does not provide any kinda internship. But a student can do an internship in summer vacation as there are many opportunities available in Jaipur with the stipend of 3000-4000 per month. It's not difficult nowadays to find the internships.

Placement in MAHARAJA college is average. Only 2-3 companies come over to the campus and select the 2-3 toppers only. When I was in the college the main company was Genpact with the salary of 2 lac per annum. But a student can get involved in off-campus placement. And an above average student can easily get a good job after completion of BCA. This is the well-reputed course.

There are many extracurricular activities in college like sports, quiz competition, festivals etc. The main event that is held in the college actually not in the college but for all Rajasthan university is GHOOMER. You can take participation in these events via trials that are every month.

The fees structure is very feasible. 25000 to 27000 every year. So you will be charged only 75000 to 80000 for the overall course. Wherever the same course fees in other colleges is 60000 to 80000 in other colleges like st. Xavier etc. So the fees structure is very affordable.

No there are no scholarships are awarded to the students. And the fee structure is very feasible so there will be no need to take a loan.

The campus life is not that good. the building is very old and playgrounds are broken. There is wifi facility available but doesn't work too much. If you have a good friend circle then you can make your campus life interesting as I did with my friends. There are so many extracurricular activities held by college so this will be fun to participate in those activities. Sports competition are also held but the trials to select the students are biased.

I was not in the hostel so I do not have much idea. But few of my friends were living in the hostel and according to them, their hostel life was not good. It was full of fights and bad experience. The mess is not good. I myself have experienced the mess facilities and found it below average. So If a student finds a PG facility then it will be good for them.

Alumni network is not so good. Senior students are helpful if you give them respect they will always be there for you no matter what. They support you and stand for you if something is wrong in the campus.

There will be no pressure on the students as the exams are held on yearly basis. A student can easily study the material as well as can take part in extra activities too. There will be no exam burdon so students can make there language skills good, doing coaching or internships.

When I passed the 12th examination, I registered for the BCA in Maharaja college or I filled the registration form. Then after 15-20 days merit list was issued by the college. And my name was in the first list. Then I filled the admission form and deposited the fees by DD and got admission in this college.

The college faculty is not that good. I didn't found any of my teacher professional. Everyone was MCA passes out from an average college. They may have the knowledge about the computer technology but not that much that is required to make a student a star of the BCA. So the faculty is on average on the scale.
