Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because I wanted to learn more about the history and culture of India, which fascinates me since childhood. The course curriculum is well-designed and covers various topics such as ancient civilizations, medieval kingdoms, colonialism, nationalism, and contemporary issues. Each topic is explored in depth and with relevant sources and examples. The faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in their fields. They have PhD degrees from reputed universities and have published many papers and books. They use a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, presentations, and assignments. They also encourage students to participate actively and ask questions. The faculty:student ratio is also reasonable, which allows for more interaction and feedback. The term exams are conducted on time and are not very difficult to pass if you study well and follow the instructions. The exams are based on the course objectives and test the understanding .

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of LS college Muzaffarpur is quite affordable compared to other colleges in the region. The annual tuition fee is Rs. 20,000 for undergraduate courses and Rs. 30,000 for postgraduate courses. However, the college has a fees hike policy that increases the fees by 10% every year, which can make it difficult for some students to continue their studies. Fortunately, the college offers various opportunities for scholarship, financial assistance and campus jobs to help the students with their financial needs. I was able to get a merit-based scholarship that covered 50% of my tuition fee, as well as a part-time job as a library assistant that paid me Rs. 5,000 per month. There are also other scholarships and financial assistance schemes available for students from different categories, such as SC/ST/OBC, minority, female, disabled, etc. The college also has a placement cell that helps the students find suitable jobs after graduation.

Campus Life

3.5

Life at the Campus in LS college Muzaffarpur is vibrant and enriching. There are many opportunities to participate in social, cultural and academic events throughout the year. Some of the highlights are: - The annual fest, called Utsav, is held in February and showcases the talent and creativity of the students and faculty. It includes cultural programs, competitions, exhibitions and workshops. - The tech fest, called TechX, is held in October and features innovative projects, seminars, quizzes and hackathons. It attracts students and experts from various fields of science and technology. - The library is well-stocked with books and journals on various subjects and disciplines. It also has a digital section with access to online databases and e-resources. - The classrooms are spacious and equipped with modern amenities such as smart boards, projectors and Wi-Fi. They provide a conducive environment for learning and interaction.

Admission

The admission process for LS college Muzaffarpur was quite straightforward. I had to apply online through the official website of the college and fill in the required details. I also had to upload some documents like my 10th and 12th mark sheets, caste certificate, migration certificate, etc. The college offers various courses in arts, science, commerce and vocational streams. I opted for the B.Sc. course in mathematics. To get admission in the B.Sc. course, I had to appear for an entrance exam conducted by the college. The exam was of 100 marks and consisted of multiple choice questions from physics, chemistry, mathematics and general knowledge. The exam duration was two hours and there was no negative marking. The cut off for the B.Sc. course was 60 marks out of 100. I scored 75 marks and got selected for the admission. I was very happy to get admission in LS college Muzaffarpur as it is one of the oldest and reputed colleges in Bihar. The college has a good infrastructure, faculty

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had chosen this course because in a government job this department offers a great choice to become an officer in the Indian government. Approximately a faculty to student ratio is 15:90. All the faculties are well qualified and have a great teaching method. Exams are after every year and it is quite easy to pass the exams after completing the syllabus.

Remarks:

The college is good with experienced faculties, equipped labs, cultural activities, good infrastructure etc. but the placement & internship scenario in college is not so good, it doesn't placed students of B.C.A, in basic science courses no internships & placements were provided to us by college so college should work on internships and placement side. I was a student of 2009-12 batch in this college in B.S.C(zoology),overall it was a good experience in the college.
