Course Curriculum Overview
In the first year, you completely learn about the basics of all types of engineering. Including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electrical Engineering and C programming. After that u get into your core subjects. The curriculum also helps you to improve ur speaking skills.
Internships Opportunities
The college offer multiple internships. Internships available are notified to students using different whatsapp groups and they could be free or paid. The seniors are really helpful and helps us to avail the best of opportunities.
Placement Experience
The tech departments like Computer Science, IT and EC usually avail higher placement opportunities comparing to other branches. Since there is an option for choosing minor or honour degrees along with our courses, the opportunity for job seeking is usually higher
Fees and Financial Aid
The employment opportunity here(Gec Palakkad) for certain courses are really high. The Information Technology branch gets more than 70-80% Placements along with CSE Dept. The fees is really less as it is a government organization. Nearly 15000 a year. The assistance for scholarship is too good, as certain camps are set up which helps us to apply for Scholarships
Campus Life
There are a lot of clubs available in our campus. The annual tech fest is called INVENTO. Libraries are available for every dept. And the institution is filled with high tech infrastructures including many computer labs. The campus is not congested at all. The programs this year was a bit too lame. But last year, it was comparatively better. Sports is highly focussed on and our KHO-KHO and handball teams are making huge success in all of their matches
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel is average. And it compares to the hostels of all other govt. Colleges. But a lot of private hostels are available which provide sufficient facilities. Food is good. The hostel is located 300m away from the institution
Admission
The admission process was rather easy. You write your KEAM exam and based on your rank and the cutoff, you get the course you are eligible for. My rank was 11995 and I got a place in GEC Palakkad for the course of Information Technology with EZ category reservation. We get the application from the college website and all the other documents to be brought with it.
