I loved the campus life, the placement opportunities and a good guidance provided throughout our journey by all the teachers and technical staffs and overall the infrastructure of our college is too good, one can grow and learn a alot things from the

Dislikes

I didn't liked the semester system as one needs to face a lot pf internal exams and external exams without sufficient time gap, and it's draining one cannot enjoy college life fully as it is academically oriented with regular exams testpapers and all

Course Curriculum Overview

Structural engineering which is sister branch in civil engineering influenced me as engineers make most of the buildings and being a part of that is a good opportunity as one can use their creative ideas to bring innovation to the world. It helps us to develop problem solving skills that is necessary in real life situations. Area to be improved is one more practical classes need to be provided

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 7000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee is 7000 for each semester and there are 8 semester. Scholarships like e grantz are provided for students with annual income less than 6 lakh. Internships and stipends are provided and campus placements also gives sufficient job opportunities to the aspirants

Campus Life

Annual fest of our college is dhwani which focuses on both cultural and technical events and technical fest of our college is dhristi which includes workshops and competition, expos etc. Technical library ans department library facility available. Gym, playground, badminton court for extracurricular activities and actively running clubs are also there

Admission

Admission procedure was through entrance test which was conducted all over Kerala named KEAM. The eligibility of course is that one should crack keam with the required pass mark. Application form and details are provided on keam website. Reservation are provided for economically weaker section and financially unstable sections. Exam was for about 3 hrs and only moderate level of difficulty and it conducted every year. One with more practice and time managing ability can easily crack this exam

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
