Likes
- Culture- Students in gla university are attached to their culture, here we celebrate all occasions be it ram navami or navratri, even we are provided with vrat ka khana in navratri, this is a point that i like about being a hostler.
- Co-curricular activities- College life is all about exploring and in gla university you have multiple club's and societies to explore and learn new things and make friends, i would say this is a good point
- Research & Startup culture - Gla university has a diverse culture for startups, we have tbi a building dedicated for startups and research, also gla provides a lot of seed funds and scholarships in fees of research paper and patent filing.
Dislikes
- Education- the education is more focused toward remembering than teaching us real things , the teachers are good but this is one thing
- Exams- as i said they are focused towards checking your theoretical section not practical section
Course Curriculum Overview
I took admission because of my relatives, they said it's quite good and have good placement, I would say you have to study hard, we have a semester of 5months, and two exam every semester mid term and end term exams, If teachers start teaching practical things then the usage of courses will significantly improve
Internships Opportunities
You can do JOVAC(JOB ORIENTED VALUE ADDED COURSE) if you don't get a internship in starting of third year, college will try to provide you internships if you have good cpi, otherwise you have to do the hardwork yourself, they will help you in placement, connect with senior's specially alumnis they will help you a lot
Placement Experience
From 5th semster you can sit for placements, you need good cpi for that, at least 7.5+, recently one company took 170students, also their were few students placed at 17lpa, the highest package was 55lakh by vidhan bhaiya in nijuma technologies, almost 80% students get placed but if you are not studying no one can help you get placed
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid almost 2lakh rs for College fees and 1 lakh as hostel fees, and it increases by 4000rs, hostel fees for first year is 75000rs and for wing it is 82000rs and mess fees is 34000rs, you can get a up government scholarship if your family is financially not stable also if you have gopd marks in 12th or jee you can check the college website for the criteria,
Campus Life
It's good you have multiple clubs and societies, i used my first year to explore and make good contacts, which helped me in my other years, bearing the pressure of multiple clubs is difficult but get to learn a lot and make good connections with seniors and alumnis, one thing is girls can't stay out of the hostel after 6:45pm in evening, on one side it's good but on another side it's bad, even though for clubs they get exception to stay outside till 8:00pm
Hostel Facilities
I took single seator hostel room which costed me 80k in first year and then security deposit of 10k and then mess cost of 34k, the food is good, if not best, it's eatable, you have option to stay outside in pg's which are way cheaper for example one my friend lived in pg in front of college he paid 5k per month for food + accommodation, it depends on your choice, you have to select between campus life and money spent.
Admission
You need at least 60% in 10th and 12th, also they have launched few courses in which 75%, i gave the test on their website, it's mandatory and then i went to their nearest admission centre and did the basic payments, even though i had 88% jee but because i belonged to the general category i knew i won't get any good college so took admission here
Faculty
Most of the teachers are well qualified and supportive like i had a faculty of cn named dr deepak shah he was amazing, he used to teach us not just the theoretical aspect also the practical use of networking, but few teachers were so bad they were only focused toward attendance, not teaching you anything
