Me and my experiences with my college.

As the JIS group is best educational group of Eastern India, the experience of previous year students and reviews encouraged me to take admission to this respective course. The theory teaching process is very good but some hints are missed at the practical teaching techniques. But I'm sure that the knowledge I gained, after the internship, it will surely help me in my professional life. But they need to improve their Practical teachings and Laboratories. Talking about exams we have 2 exams per semester, One is Mid Semester and one is End semester. Same with the Practicals. Also regular class tests happen.

Various companies like- Cipla, GSK, wipro, Dell, Infosys, TCS, Delloit, Capgemini and many more ( I can recall this only) are available for on- campus placements. Every student is helped regarding internships they are mainly non- paid.

The course fees is around 3.5 Lakhs over all. Students having more than 80% or 90% at the Board exams gets special scholarship as deduction in course fees also. The college also allows to pay course fees by students loan or West Bengal students credit card scheme. They allow every student to apply for every government scholarships and helps if needed. I have not taken any campus employment but some students get it.

The campus is beautiful and nicely maintained. Every year technical fest ( Tech-fest) and cultural fest ( Mridang) take place. They usually take place frome September - December. Wide range of books are there at the library. Library is well organised and you can spend time as long as you want. Classrooms have screens and projectors, some teachers use mic also. At every floor there is one seminar hall with smart screens and projectors as well. Every year inter and intra college sports events happen. Various sports like cricket, football, vollyball, badminton are played.

The eligibility of my course - More than 55% in 12th board exams with science stream (having chemistry and biology). Although I got 79%. There is an admission test called the JIS Entrance Test (JET), which is mandatory to pass for admission. You will find application dates, and fee structure on the Official website you can call the admission cell ( number also provided at the website) for any quarry regarding admission, they are very helpful. Reservation is available for backward classes and minorities.

The faculty- to- student ratio is proper. Every classes are done by proper allocated teachers and they attend the classes on time. All of the faculty members are well qualified in their respective subjects. At JIS University they creat small groups of 20-25 students for mentorship programme, one teacher is allocated for every group as their Mentor . He/She clarifies all of their problems amd every month a mentorship meeting takes place. Some of the teachers are very friendly and some of them are little rude but everyone is their for clearing your doubts and help you. Even after college hours we can call them for any queries.
