What Students Say

Likes

Good atmosphere around the college campus
The college is situated near town area and easy access to buses
Good lab facilities are provided by the college

Dislikes

Lack of good company placements in the college
Strict time and gate rules are sometimes too much for a college

Course Curriculum Overview

The decision to choose my subject Computer Science & Engineering was because of my interest in Computer as well as Mathematics. By taking a professional degree, i saw a good future. The internal exam scheduling are sometimes hard to follow. Teaching methods are not much to be opposed.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 44000 per year

Placement Experience

Placement trainings are provided for the students from Sem5 onwards. The placements start from sem7. Some good companies visit the college every year. Not everyone gets a good offer though. As a 3rd year student, I am not much aware of the other placement details.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fees of the courses are around 1.2-1.3 Lakhs per year. The fees is collected year basis. For NRI the fees is increased to some around 1.75 lakhs. Various scholarships for students with good marks in the Entrance exams or higher secondary exams is available, which can reduce the fees amount to even around 20000.

Campus Life

The college is known for its national technical and cultural event called BRAHMA. Other sports and arts events are also very nice. Also there are many clubs in the college for the development of each student. The main club IEEE has one of the best Students branch in India in this college.

Admission

Eligibilty for the course is higher secondary certificate. The application forms and others can be collected from college itself. They help us to do also. The admission is done through the merit process from KEAM exam or through other quotas like management, NRI, sports, etc.

Faculty

The appointments of new staffs is an appreciable thing. Lot of experienced and friendly faculty is present in the college. Sometimes same faculties handle different subjects. It is doubtful whether it is due to lack of faculties for certain papers. Interactions with teachers are very good.

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

An Emerging student rising from a million opportunity

I applied to MITS, Fisat, and Rajagiri and Adi Shankara Institute of engineering and technology. These were the top 3 collages in my area in the field of CSE. I only got confirmation from Adi Shankara Institute of engineering and technology. Yes i did get rejection from other collages due to my low keam scores. Admission process is simple with keam having priority. Rest of the seats are reserved for management and NRI. I accepted cse exams and curriculum. Over all admission process is quick and satisfactory....Read More

Inorder to get admission for engineering course you must have atleast 10 marks for keam entrance exam.(if you are a nri student, the cutoff doesn't really matter). The admission process was nice.
