Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum of IGNOU is quite simple. It is basically what the students have already studied in school. It bestows the students with knowledge that will be applicable in the practical world. It prepares them with the skills to apply in the practical world. As for the exams, they happen once every year and in case the student misses to give an exam in one term, such student can give the exam in next term.I believe that there are no such areas for improvement in the teaching domain. The teachers are very supportive and they are very knowledgeable because they not only prepared the students for what is to come in the exam but they also prepare the students for the real world applications. The books are also provided to the students really before the examination so the students have ample of time to prepare for the examination and the curriculum is very simple. If the student is a little bit hard working he can top the examination with flying colours. In all, IGNOU is the so far, the best.

Fees and Financial Aid

One of the reasons to opt for Indira Gandhi National open University is the economical fee structure . The fee structure as compared to the other universities is exceptionally nominal and it provides quality education in such nominal fee structure. For example ,the overall fees for 1 year ,if anybody is doing B.Com is Rupees. 5000 , including the tuition fees, the service fees and including everything. There are no such scholarships available because the fee structure is already so nominal and economical. Since , I am doing B.Com I do not know anything regarding campus employment. However , there might be some options available for other courses but certainly not for b.com. Apart from the regular fee structure , there is a nominal amount that you have to pay while filling out the examination form . For example , rupees 1600 that is rupees 200 per subject and there are like two semesters that you are appearing for in the examination then eight subjects it is that makes it rupees 1600.

Campus Life

2

Indira Gandhi National open University is usually opted by students who want to do distance learning. So, there are no such annual and technical festivals that are celebrated in the college, there are no greet and meets , no parties , no fresher parties , nothing at all .It is all about studying and doing it at the ease of your home, alongwith other courses that the student has been pursuing. The facilities and technological provisions in the classroom are quite brilliant. There are no sports or extra curricular activities taking place on the campus because we do not visit the campus like it's a distance learning course that is why you cannot have any physical or in person interaction with the teachers or any of the students in the college. There are study groups that are created by the teachers on whatsapp and the online class links and all such necessary information will be shared on that group. It's quite helpful, everything that a student needs , it will be made available at one stop

Admission

The admission process for Indira Gandhi National open University is quite simple . There is no hassle .The student has to go through the official website , there is a section available for admission and the student can apply for any course of their choice through that online portal , the fees can also be paid online and everything can be done online , at just a click of a button .They do not have to go in person to the college or anywhere to get the things done .You can do everything online. The study material that they provide is very phenomenal ,anybody can pass out with flying colours if they study from the material that they provide. The difficulty level of the examinations is from easy to medium and even it is slightly more difficult ,any student would be able to crack it if they study from the study material that they provide. Examinations are conducted a twice every year for a respective year and if a student misses an exam in one of the terms then he can give it in another term.

Faculty

4.5

There are a lot of students who opt for IGNOU because of its lucrative fee structure and zero time management issues. The teachers are also very supportive. They also give personal phone numbers when there is interaction in online classes, in case the students have any doubts . Thus, we can say that the teachers are quite approachable and easy to communicate with because they understand the students very well. The faculty members are also very supportive. There was this one time , when I got late to submit my assignment by five minutes and I was scared that they might turn down my assignments but to my surprise the authorities welcomed me warmly , I mean they did ask me to be on time the next time but they were very supportive. It is not like that they support you in your wrongs but they understand if something is going on with us . They create a very personal environment, for the students to open up and clarify all they want to.Thus, one can say that IGNOU definitely has the best one's

Other Applied Colleges

University of Lucknow - [LU] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]

I did not opt for lucknow university because of the fee structure . It was quite high plus it also demanded more of my time and given the fact that I'm a C.A. student, I can barely make my ends meet in time management. Thus, for me, IGNOU is one of the be

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.
