Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum for Architecture is pretty much an old one. It has the necessary empowerment like theoretical knowledge, professional management, critical thinking, but it's not updated to the current advancements in the field. The syllabus includes internship.
Fees and Financial Aid
As the college is government based, the tution fee is very low when compared to other private colleges. The tution fee is Rs. 30625 per year with an additional Rs. 3000 for example fee. Scholarships are also available.
Campus Life
Campus life is wonderful. The only drawback is they do not encourage sports very much. The festives are Cul de Sap which is the annual cultural event that typically occurs every year end of March or at the starting of April. Diwali bash happens during the time of Diwali.
Admission
For Architecture education in India, one has to go through an entrance exam which is NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture). Based on the cutoff in NATA exam and 12th standard cutoff put together, the admission will be merit based only. I scored 131/200 in NATA and placed state 26th rank in Tamil Nadu
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is pretty high because our total strength of School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University is 380 and the faculty strength is around 20. Faculties are very supportive in our efforts to produce a wonderful design. They don't usually tell us what to do but make us understand how to do things. One can easily approach the faculties during the break time in the staff room and clear any doubts.
