Course Curriculum Overview

3

This field is growing in India day by day at a large scale and India is becoming a major exportor of medicines to the developed nations, developing nations, and underdeveloped nations. The course is majorly based on theoretical knowledge and a of percentage is based on practical knowledge. It doesn't give you proper present industry experience or pharmacist-patient understanding.

Placement Experience

2

Students are eligible for campus placement in 8th semesteror after completing the 8th semester. Many local companies give offer but the package is not so good as compared to the overall 4 year investment.

Fees and Financial Aid

Department of pharmaceutical sciences of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar is PCI (Pharmacy Council of India). The year- wise fees depends upon which year you are taking admission as the course fees generally increased by 5-7% annually. Students who joined just this year (july,2024) have paied approximately 90,000 for first semester only. Registration fees for the course is ?1300 approx.for general category student. Fees for ST/SC students is minimal as the all are eligible for the scholarship programs run by both state government and central government. There is another scholarship available for students who are not economically stable and come under general category.

Campus Life

3.5

Many university annual programs are organised by university administration like JASHAN and YOUTH FESTIVAL. Many national and state competitions are organized inside the university. There are many social groups that a student can join easily. There is an NCC on the campus that comes under 1 Pb Bn which is co-head and offers both B and C certificates to students who are eligible for that.

Admission

The admission process is quite easy as the portal of the university opens you have to follow the instructions and then get ready for the entrance exam if you clear the entrance exam then there will be counseling and if you clear that you will be joining the course. Eligibility is 12th in the medical/non-medical stream with a minimum of 55% marks.

Faculty

2.5

Faculty to student relationship is depends upon student to student and faculty to faculty. In each semester there will be 2 minors and 1 major examination and you have to pass in all. Passing percentage is 50%.

Interview Experience

3.5

Special entrance exam are conducted by the university for proper selection procedure and further councelling was done after the results were declared of entrance exam. Exam pattern was MCQ at the time of my admission. The syllabus of exam will be 11-12 class based.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!

College is best and the location of the college is also good. But the teachers and the staff should be more creative to run a college. I can give 6 rating out of 10 to the college. It can be better if given more attentiveness

Remarks:

Good words for the college is that the teaching faculty is very good if I see. Otherwise bad words for this college is that. Half of the classes are so big and students in the class are more than 60 so the teacher can teach properly to them.i would say to divide the students according to their marks like section-wise.

Totally it was good to be a student of here and if I have to give a remark then I will only say that I am now earning 35000 per month in a multinational company. But it's not a matter of how much you are earning its matter of education in which this college is giving its best.
