NIT SILCHAR HONEST REVIEW

In first year all students learn the basics and same course and after 1st year we get our own course. the course are pretty relevant and easy in my opinon. The teacher constatnly reminds you of real world applications form topics they are teaching. Some improvements can be they updated the course in 2018 , so they sould update it often. The exams are easy to handle only with 1 week effort if you are a general candidate scoring 98+ percentile this will be a peice of cake for you.

There are google, microsoft, amazon etc all large intership here, and leaving them aside there are also core intership here which requires you to have a good cgpa. Learn skills in 1st and 2nd year of college and then try for internship if you are a girl getting an internship is very easy here.

The placements in our college are good compared to other nits. The placement percentage of my branch is above 80% so dont worry about not getting a placement if you are serious and dont have any back in ur subjects. All the major companies visit the campus and highest package was around 80 lakh offerd by atlasian. From eie highest was around 60 lakhs. My plans right now is to get a decent placement and after that think about future.

Iam currently in 2nd year and this year i will approximately pay 1.5-2 lakhs for general candidate. The tuition fees of me is 75k for single semester and for below 5 lack income students it is 35k and for below 1 lack student there is no tuition fees only hostel fees which is 22.5k per semester. Being a general candidate there is no major scholarship for me but for other catergories and ews students there are alot of scholarship such as reliance and NSP scholarship which are easy to get if you are a ews candidate or catergory or girl.

Campus life is pretty chill. Being on northeast side there is reservation for assam students here so the often make groups here and talk in their native language there can be sometimes inter state fights but if you are not the fighting types then everyting will be fine. The libariy is largest digital in india so dont worry about books etc. There are also fest going on a club activies going on everytime in college and you can take part in clubs according to ur interest. the sport facilitis are pretty good here you get every sport facility here even long tennis. But being a slow city there are less major clubs or social cafes etc to chill out outside the campus

1st year hostel are good room are medium size and 2 people live together. Mess quality will be decent till first 1/2 months then the food will be unbearable to eat so be prepared, but after that in higher years the mess quality increases making them bearable to eat .

The branch i was getting in my rank wich was 21k was good here thats why i chose this college and i also wanted to explore this side of the india and experience their culture which is pretty lame. I think putting just a little more effort and having right temperament in exam hall u can score 4/5 k higher rank and go for better nits. The admission process is straighforward , you reprot in college according to the time assigned for you with the necassary documents and it completes in 4/5 hours according to the crowd.

The faculty to student ratio is pretty good and the faculty are eager to teach, there can be sometimes communication gaps becasue most of the facutly knows english are their fluency can be a little hard to understand. The eie deparment facutly all are pretty chilll and good to work with. The lab assistant are also pretty fun and helping in lab exams. I think all of the faculty tries their best to teach students but its upto you if u want to learn or not. There are mid sem , minor test , and end sem examinations an around 5/6 students get back in exams out of 100 students. Exams are pretty easy to clear because there are relative grading system here.Changing your branch is pretty easy if you put effort into it just for 1/2 weeks.
