What Students Say

Likes

Such a large area is provided for students to roam around.
The quality of infrastructure is good and well maintained
They provide a variety of placement opportunities

Dislikes

There is no hour for physical education.
The rules that are to be followed often suffocate the students
If you have backlogs you are very unlikely to get a job

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is expanding every year.they are trying to include new topics into the system . The exams are 3 hrs.it is pretty difficult to get pass mark. The faculty just gives us a rough idea about the topics the rest we have to do like going for tuition or watching lecture videos.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 88000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Software developer, cyber security related jobs, game developer are roles offered.infosys soti ust are certain companies that offer placement opportunities for our college students. We have to pass and aptitude test interview and probably a gd to get a job.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for placements from s6.Many companies visit the college offering different packages.the avg package is 3lpa.more than 50 percent student get placed from the college. My plans is to work in some company for certain time and then go for MBA

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees paid is 88k.The fee might increase in the coming years.SC ST students have reservations or less fee structures.I got a management seat so there are no reductions in my fee structure

Campus Life

The annual fest is cross roads which is quite a well planned and wonderful fest. different programs are held. The library facility is also good. They provide both materials and computers for research and refering.leagues like bpl for football and bigbash for cricket is held every year

Admission

I got admission in another government college. But I opt for this college.I was also called from Marian engineering college.then only at last moment I got a cse seat in this college. The eligibility criteria is the keam exam score and 12 score.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is a large difference.the number of students is more compared to the faculty.but there is enough faculty.I don't find any faculty bad or good. They are just there to teach and earn money nothing more than that we expect. There are 3 exams every semester. Cat 1 and2 then a sem exam.

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

But I regret taking admission for engineering in this particular college for a number of reasons. Admission process for mar baselios is fairly simple. You've to crack the KEAM entrance test or get a fairly decent score in the JEE exams and you can register for this college...Read More

I had applied for saitgaits, amal jyothi and cet. Considering cet,the fee and placements are high but the discipline and structured way is lacking. Now considering saintgaits and amal jyothi, there are more opportunities in mbcet to explore.. mbcet is also in the town and easily approachable via public transport.mbcet has a disciplined approach to studies.comparing the hostels too mbcet has one of the best hostels. I was rejected in cet for cs dept as i didnt aquire the required rank..i was accepted in both others but decided to join mbcet due to its status in society. The admission process is purely based on keam rank.keam and jee are accepted..the cut off marks for cs dept was 9000 in 2023.the admission experience is very easy and structured properly...Read More
