Course Curriculum Overview

2

Course curriculam is not good. Focus is more on theory rather than on Practical knowledge. Students have to study on their own to be industrial ready. Students study through online and offline courses to be ready to work in industry. Course curriculum doesn't prepares us for the real-world applications, we have to learn it all by our own. There are two sessional exams in middle of every semester conducted by college itself and one final exam at the end of semester conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition Fees per year is around 62,000. Registeration and Admission fees is 1200. College security and Library security fees is 2000 each which is refundable. Scholarship is provided by the state government to the SC, ST and OBC students in the tuition fees. I don't know the exact amount but almost 50 %to 80% worth amount of scholarship on tuition fees is given depending on your category.

Campus Life

1

Campus life is very bad and boring. There is nothing to explore in the college. No clubs exist in the collge. Two functions are organised in the college every year one in each semester. The first one is the freshers party named 'Aagaz' held in the end of september in the odd semester and the second is the Technical fest held in march or april month of the even semester. Library is very good, almost all the books related to course and related to different competitive exams are available in the library. Classrooms are also good, most of the teaching is done by chalk and greenboard. There is also a smart class which is used few times to teach. Sports facilities are also bad. Students generally arrange ther own equipments to play.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostel Rooms are good and large in size with two to three students in one room. Bathrooma and Toilet conditions are very bad. Hostels are affordable. It cost around 30,000 per semester. Rooms and PGs are also available near the college which are also affordable. Hostel food is below average. Almost same type of items are given daily in the mess.

Admission

I applied for this college as it was affordable and has a very good reputation in the past but now it not that good. I didn't applied in any other college as it was suggested to me by some of its previous students. At their time it was a very good college but now its not.

Faculty

3

Teachers are helpful and overall teaching quality is average. Some teachers are very good in there respective subjects. The maximum class size is of 60 students and student to faculty ratio is very good. You can easily approach the teachers. There are two sessional exams of 50 marks each in the middle of every semester and at last there is one end semester exam of 60 marks. The level of exams are moderate not very easy and not very hard. You can easily clear exams if you study. Question paper for end semester final exam come from the HImachal Pradesh Technical University which is same for all the colleges affilated to University.

Interview Experience

3

There is no group discussion, interveiw or written test for admission. For admission you just have to come to college and submit some documents and pay some amount of fees. Total fees is to be paid over the time before the final exams.

Night Life

1

There is a gym available to students which is free. Boys hostel closes after 9:30 at night and girls hostel around 6PM. There is also a cafe and three to four other eating points in the campus. There is no night life in the college as hostels are closed in the night.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities at my college are average. A few reputed companies visit the campus each year, but the number of offers and salary packages varies depending on the branch and market conditions. Students who have strong academic performance, technical skills, internships, and good communication skills generally have better chances of getting placed.

Updated to align with NEP-2020 guidelines starting from 2023 onward. CSE (AI & DS) branch includes modern subjects like Data Science, Machine Learning, Python, Cloud basics. Core branches (ECE, ME, EE, CE) follow standard Indian engineering frameworks with essential subjects. Syllabus similar to other govt engineering colleges under HP Tech University, so fairly up to date.
