Remarks
I'll highly recommend admission in ISM Dhanbad, which is one of the India's finest engineering institute. You'll develop not only in academics but also overall. The professors and management are usually cooperative. The student society is extremely active and powerful. The present Director is one of the best in the country. Also, the lush-green college campus presents a beautiful and aesthetic view and environment. The cafeteria is awesome.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course of Mining Engineering is at par with the best mining courses across the world. You'll not get a better place to study Mining apart from ISM Dhanbad. The Exams consists of 2 parts per semester - Mid Sems and End sems. Mid sems grades accounts for 30%, End Sems for 60% and the rest 10% marks are for internals, which solely depends upon the professors.
Placement Experience
Placements of ISM Dhanbad is similar to other IITs. The competitive environment of all the branches and the internships offered by various companies and institutions sharpen the students to face the industry with relevant knowledge and confidence. I did my internship in 3rd year at Khetri Copper Complex in Rajasthan, which was unpaid. The internship proved to be a well-informative program which expanded my knowledge and experience in the copper mining.

Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure was revised in 2016 and per semester fees rose from Rs. 56000 per semester to Rs. 110000 per semester. This has put a little pressure on the budget of middle-class students. Although MCM scholarships are available for the financially weaker students on producing their family income proof.
Fees and Financial Aid
MCM (Merit Cum Means) and Freeship scholarships (GPA based) are offered to financially weaker students per semester. The scholarship waves off the tuition fees. The students loan can be availed by the students at cheaper interest from SBI-ISM branch, situated near the college.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are highly encouraged and one can avail these facilities in the SAC (Student Activity Center) like Chess, Carrom, Boxing, Gym, Snooker, Table Tennis, Astronomy Club, Cyber Labs, etc. The labs are World class in research as well as equipments and apparatus point of view. They have been recently created, facilitating them with the recent most experimental setups.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure is great. The rooms are a bit smaller considering 2 students per room. Mess is hygienic and the food is tastier for the final and super final year students, but not so good for first, second and third year students. The hostels are equipped with a common hall, basketball court, Table Tennis facilities and Volleyball ground.
Alumni/Alumna
Very strong. Our seniors and alumni base is one of the strongest and most helpful. They not only help you within the college with your day to day activities and plans, but also when you pass out of the college and is searching for a relevant job.
