Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum is well structured. Syllabus is quite good as per year wise. Faculties helps us to complete whole syllabus. There are many assessments and activities which helps us to learn thoroughly and more precisely. I think time duration per subject is needed more. Also need a clear and deep understanding each topic which needs more time but the exams will come. So some times we have to memorise it instead of understanding.

Internships Opportunities

4

After completing internship one can get Housestaffship in medical colleges. But everyone maybe not able to get it. However study hard , get familiar with professor faculties and you will be able to get all kind of facilities.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hello! I'm a 2nd year MBBS student of Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital. Here is some information about my medical college: The atmosphere is good for study. Fees structure is average. There are total 9 semester in this course and 4 professional exams. We have to pay 4500 per each semester which includes tuition fees. We also have to pay admission fee of 1000, caution fee 1000 separately. After admission we have to pay 3000 for registration. But also there are some scholarships available for us like SVMCM and Oasis .

Campus Life

4

Besides studies there are several recreational programs and fests are held in our college. In this information I've to tell about the AGON(biggest med fest of eastern India) which is occurs before Puja. Just wow. Those who knows and experiences this fest will remember it their lifetime. I'm really really happy to be a part of it. Freshers, pre puja celebration, Themed Saraswati puja, Holi also held in our college. Our library has a good collection of various books. One should make library cards to borrow them. In classrooms there is projector and slide share available for study. It helps to maintain time for study. There are much more kind of sport events occurs in our campus like badminton. Cricket , football.

Admission

I also applied Nilratan sirkar Medical college, PG hospital and R.G. Kar medical college and hospital. Then I got confirmed admission from R.G.Kar and CNMC. However I decided to study in CNMC. Because my relative studies in this college and also it is better than R.G. Kar . The transport is good here in CNMC as it is situated in central Kolkata. The college ground is comparatively more bigger and good in CNMC. I got rejection from PG as I didn't make it in Cut off marks. In admission process at first one have to crack neet exam and getting good marks (nowadays one should get 650 above marks)is make them to get admission in selective medical colleges through counselling. I got admitted in CNMC through 2nd counciling. Admission process is quite long

Faculty

4

Our faculties is ovarall good for us in my opinion. Easy to contact with them. They also are very helpful. They teaches thoroughly every topic. Gives suggestions. But some of them are quite strict and angry. Ovarall 7 out of 10 in my opinion. Personally I like the biochemistry department. Total 9 semesters and 4 professional exams. Pass mark is 60 percent. Approx 80 percent student passes the exams. Exam difficulties are average.

Night Life

4

The areas and localities outside the college is quite safe and good. As it is in the central side in Park Circus seven point more ,the transportation is good. There are many nearby hangout places , cafeteria, restaurant and shopping malls. Many gyms are also there . There is no such timing in boys hostel to entry and exit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.

AIIMS being an Institute of National Importance, has curated the curriculum very well with lots of focus on practical clinical knowledge. 4.5 years is divided into total 9 semesters and 4 Professional exams. In each exam you have to score more than 50% in each subject to pass. The course academics is very rigid and thorough, so you have to study hard really to come out as a skilled doctor.
