Course Curriculum Overview
My eagerness and curiosity to learn about electronics made me choose this course. The curriculum is very relevant and very close to real world applications. One improvement can be the reduction of memorizable data asked in the exams. The frequency and timings of the exams are well paced causing no pressure.
Internships Opportunities
For SDE roles companies like google, microsoft, amazom, goldman sachs come which give a stiped ranging from 1 to 1.5 lacs per month. As far as core is concerned, companies like bajaj, godrej, reliance,JLR,analog electronics etc. also come with a stipend ranging from 60k to 1 lac.
Placement Experience
The placements are quite decent with avg package around 25 lpa. Students are eligible for internships from the 5th semester and for placements in the 7th semester. Companies like google ,microsoft , amazon, JLR, flipkart and samsung visit for internship and placement opportunities. The highest package ranges from 50-60 lpa while the avg. is around 20-25lpa. 85-90% of the students eligible get placed with the rest opting of higher studies. I plan on getting a job
Fees and Financial Aid
For general and obc: The total fee for a semester is 1,26,400. Breakdown : 1,00,000 tuition fees , 8400 other fee and 18,000 mess fee. For sc/st/pwd there is no tuition fee so the total is 26,400.
Campus Life
The campus life is pretty nice. There are numerous clubs, great sports facilities , fitness centres, health centres and fast food corners in the campus. The library is one og=f the biggest in asia. The classrooms have a smart led board.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are great with 24x7 water and electricity. Furniture is provided and is of good quality. The menu is updated regularly and the food quality and taste is good. Hirapur is a location where one can rent PG
Admission
This college was alloted to me based on my JEE rank. I could've gotten civil engg. in IIT Kanpur and Madras but i chose electronics and comm. here in IIT(ISM) as i wanted to study the field i was most interested in. To get this course you have to clear JEE mains and get around 40% marks in JEE ADV ( general candidate) for b.tech course. The admission process is very smooth after the JOSaa counselling.
Faculty
The student to faculty ratio is varies from course to course but ranges around 1 faculty per 40-50 students. Most faculties are very humble and approachable. I liked prof. Devendra chuck from electronics dept. There are mid sems, end sems, and quizes. 1-5% of the students fail to clear the exams.
Night Life
There are in timings on hostels for late night safety. The campus is a closed one.The gym and library is open 6 days a week while the cafeteria is open on all days from 12 noon till 9 pm. The locality is pretty safe but roaming late night is not encouraged.
