Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose the course mainly to improve my language skills and also to peraue a carreer in teaching. The real world application of the curriculum is not really great because i studies ba ebhlish language and literature. Surely my language and talking skills have improved a lot.I think that the management should try yo arrange some small classes on how to face the real world while persuing bachelors. This would help the children a lot. The exams did not come frequently. There was alwaya time to prepare for the exams and according to me the exams were quite simple.

Fees and Financial Aid

For a semester i had to pay almost 2000 rupees as sem fees. So after completing 2 sems per year i had to pay 4000 rupees per year so for 3 years i had to pay almost 12000 rupees. During the admission i had to pay 12000 rupees as donation even after securing seat under merit.i recieved no other financial benefits or reductio because i belong to general category. The other batchmates of mine who belonged to sc or st categories did nit have to pay any monry at all during their course at st stephens college,Uzhavoor ,kottayam, kerala.

Campus Life

3

The first programme in the college would be the freshers day to welcome new students to the college.this was cu ducted around the month of august or september. Then we had many competitions and small programmes throughout the year. The main programme is the university arts festival which comes around the time of february.the library was great there were all types of books necessary for children to satisfy their reading needs.all classes were equipped with smartclass projectors and screens which further boosted the experience of studying.Thse sports and extra curricular activities were encouraged by the management and students had a good time participating in such events.Social groups in the college were not so common there were some groups but most student were not interested in joining them.

Admission

Firstly, i never chose this college. I was allitted to this college under the single window system. I couldnt make it to other colleges mainly because iam a general category student . Even after procuring 93 percentage in 12th i couldnt procure a seat in the college of my own choice. This is a major probelem with the educational system of kerala because the general category students are undermined and given the seats only after giving seats to the sc and st students even though general category atudents more grades than them. The admission process was simple the college called and asked to appear eith the relevant certificates to get admitted. The students didnt prefer exams at all to be frank.the cutoff for the exams were 28 marks out of 80.Overall the admission process was simple and good.

Faculty

4

The faculties were really good and were approachable people. The students had access to them whenever they needed and they were all very approachable. All the facilties were very friendly and the students didnt have any probelems in talking with them or approaching them whenever they had any doubts. Some of the faculties i liked were Jimmy sir, Bindu maam,Teena maam. They were the most approachable and friendly among all the others.there was a total of six examinations for the whole course. From my class only nine out of twemty nine students passed on the first attempt. The relevence of the curriculum is still subjected to questions but for a bachelors course i think that is acceptable.

Night Life

2

There was a gym, a cafeteria and a canteen in the college. The equipments in the gym were not so good but it was an average gym.the food in the cafeteria were cheap annd tasty .the students had ni complaints about it.The college only had womens hostel. The closing time of the hostel was 6 o clock in the evening. The timing of the campus was from 9:45am till 3:15 pm. Our famous hangout shop was a bbq spot at uzhavoor and our favourite mohanan brothers shop. The locality of the college was safe but there was no night life at all.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is suitable for the modern age of teaching, the way of education is well balanced with projects, assignments, presentations and also notes .we have reading assignments where the faculty members ask us to read an entire book and give our review on it.the exams are quiet moderate and in my opinion teachers should use more ai tools as a learning aid which will be more effective for the students
