Remarks

Good remarks are welcomed by the faculty and the environment. The bad remark is off they have a more capability for maintaining the better place in all fields tat including will shine college better.

Course Curriculum Overview

It's good, syllabus are allowed in a good way. Need some new updates. relevant to the subject professionally making to get knowledge, but needs more practical skills in learning. The exam structure is also good. The exam makes us give practice for better knowledge gaining.

Placement Experience

Placement company are too much visit need more high tech company widespread field is biology, so company from forensic science and other field make our placement in wider Salary level and full structure of the company idea given my the college staffs are appreciatable.

Onam function- mainly all Malayali make it a grand way. College function festember fantabulous which also good. They invite some guest and mak the night awesome Inter-College meet, Christmas, Sports day, new year, Pongal, cultural competition Writing, dancing competition.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For all odd semester it takes 250000 for transport around 70000 even semester 20000 it takes Other than department association lab coat breakage add on course cultural fest amount are some other extra fee we are paying other than that fee for our wish is high.

No, I have not applied for scholarship College provide scholarship for top markers, It wishes and recommended to provide scholarship for more student, who are deserving for that.

Campus Life

The campus is good pleasant environment building can be reworked Undergraduate lab can improve more PG lab are good robotics, Viscom section is awesome Competition in debates and sports are good physical sports also make the student get to interact more. Friendship level is maintaining average

College provides the passed out student as a guest for all college function. They make good communicate and make all of us inspired.

Admission

I got admission in this college in the administration office near my locality. the staff explain all the rules in the college they tell about the course outlook. They encourage us in admission time All the basic think in college are explained while in admission.

Faculty

Faculty are good. They delivering their knowledge in an elaborated way. helpfull in all sorts of activity making good communication between students. Responsible for their work notes and presentation of them are more helpful in examination they all guiding us in a good way.

Likes

They allow all cultural events.They also conduct events in the college

They increase penalty if students dont pay the sem fees on time then they also increase the exam fees from sem to sem

I like Our department of visual communication.

Life in HIMT

Likes

With regards to training and placements the college is very good . All training as per DGMA and IMU is strictly followed and the placements for B.Sc is 90% and above . The faculties and instructors in the college are well experienced and skilled.
The college is strict regarding alcohol and smoking and it is not allowed inside campus and regular alcohol checks are conducted . Discipline and safety is the first priority for the college.
Classrooms are air conditioned. Hostel rooms are good . Any defects in rooms or any places inside college which are addressed are rectified.

Dislikes

College doesn't conduct inter college events . Internal events are very less . The few events conducted in college has also many restrictions.
Galley food can be better . College canteen is not good

Placement Experience:

The placements for B.Sc Nautical science in HIMT is 90% and above . The placement drive usually starts in the 2nd year (4th semester) and for girls 1st year (2nd semester). The companies which usually come for placements in my college are MOLMI,MOLTA, ZODIAC,SANMAR,GENCO, ONESEA etc ... The package for cadets differ from company to company and type of vessel.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

LIFE IN HIMT COLLEGE

Likes

System and the Rules followed in this college
Hierarchy system such as committe heads, cadet captains etc
Infrastructure mainly the football and cricket turf

Dislikes

Punishments, because you will get punished when one of your batchmate did anything wrong
Compared to other colleges himt is not celebrating that much for festivals
Regular musters, You will have to attend minimum 3 muster a day

Placement Experience:

I am placed in MOLMI. And sincerely thank HIMT for the placement. The other companies who Recruits cadets from HIMT are Zodiac, MOLTA, Sanmar, Genco, Ozler ONE shipping etc . HIMT have good placement records of 100%, if you have no arrears then for sure will get placed

THE IDEAL COLLEGE LIFE!

Likes

The opportunities to meet new people and interact with a whole new circle of people by Club Activities as there are quite a lot of clubs according to the student's interest.
Many places to showcase our singing and dancing talent once we join the club or take part in any of the department events.
They have multiple labs for a single department so that the students get a lot of hands on training for coding and as well as hardware.

Dislikes

4:3 Ratio of Girls to Boys in my class and i hope it's the same for all the departments as well.
The college timing can go from 8:30 AM to 5:10PM.
The 75% attendance is kind of doable and maintainable to an extent.

Placement Experience:

about 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed afdter the colleg and the ones not placed also gets placed after the college with high network and communication from other contacts within the college, ZOHO Corp does take placements and i am preparing for my CAT exams as i am planning for My highers at IIM, 5th semester is when the students become eligible for the campus placements and the seniors are a good connection who help to get places and get a job after the completion of degree.

Nothing much but have got some friends you fall into this pit exactl like me

Dislikes

Hostel , mess food and mess hall , no facilities for marine practical

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teaching methods of marine faculties are excellent but in my course they add some additional subject like tamil and hindi which are useless and no neede for a mariner as the marine faculties are good in teaching and explaining but they also having difficulty in teaching as the requirements didn't meet from the college management
