MES College of Engineering Kuttippuram, B.Tech, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science

Reviewed on Jun 12, 2025(Enrolled 2024)

Remarks

I applied to a few other engineering colleges in Kerala FISAT (Federal Institute of Science & Technology) SCMS School of Engineering Saintgits College of Engineering I received confirmed admission from MESCE and Saintgits, and waitlisted for FISAT. I chose MESCE because of its reputation, campus environment, approachable faculty, and affordable fee structure under management quota. I also had positive feedback from seniors already studying here.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because the curriculum covers key subjects like Python, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Deep Learning right from the early semesters. The inclusion of electives such as IoT, Cloud Computing, and NLP made it future-relevant and versatile.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 75000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee Structure: Yearly Tuition Fee 85,000 Caution deposit is refundable at the course end. Fees of Other Categories (Approximate): Government Merit (KEAM Allotment): Tuition Fee: 35,000 Additional Fees: 10,000 Total: 45,000 SC/ST Students: Tuition + Fees: ?0 (fully covered by government scholarships) Hostel & mess fees may apply separately

Campus Life

Fests & Events MESCE hosts two major events Infosearch – The annual technical fest, usually held in October/November, featuring hackathons, coding challenges, and paper presentations. Exuberance – The arts & cultural fest, held around February/March, includes music, dance, fashion shows, and inter-college events.

Faculty

Faculty-to-Student Ratio Approximately 1:20, which ensures enough personal attention in both theory and lab classes. Most faculty members are approachable and willing to support students academically and for projects. You can easily contact them outside class for doubts, especially during internals and assignments. Number of Exams: Per semester: 2 Internal Exams 1 End-Semester University Exam Regular lab assessments and assignments

Night Life

Library Timings: Open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on working days. Closed on Sundays and public holidays. Cafeteria & Public Areas: The main canteen and smaller food stalls operate from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The college has a basic gym setup available for both boys and girls in separate timings, usually open 6:30–8:00 AM and 4:30–6:30 PM (varies by department permissions).

The campus is well maintained and is clean
Teachers are willing to give individual attention if needed
Above average food is provided in canteen

Dislikes

Lack of campus life as college is strict
Majority of the staff members are the type to hold a grudge against you
Spoon feeding students and not allowing them to think and improvise accordingly

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from semester 6 onwards. But campus placement for civil engineering is fairly low. But companies like Aarbee Structures Pvt Ltd has offered jobs for my mates

Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

I don’t know because I haven’t attain any internships

I applied to several reputed colleges which offering similar programs in AI AND DS such rajagiri ,CET , Amal Jyothy etc.but in merit i get a college named mentor in ernakulam which is not having a good placements or acedamic performance and no a good transport itself.and I choose this college because a very good •academic reputation •infrastructure facilities •placement opportunities •lactation and accessibility •scholarships or financial aids This combination of factor made this college a ideal choice for my academic and professional aspire. Yes I did rejected by one college of my 12th percentage but they call me at last but I choose this college because that is a very bad in placements or academic performance and I focused more to a good academic and much better college for my career.and at last this made me to understand my strength and areas for grow and made to focus on making the opportunities that I have in this college and made me for the personal growth too and to build a strong gang certifications in the key areas too.the admission process in our college is mix of merit and management quotas depending upon the course. Eligibility are for BTech pass 12th with science background and meet the minimum score in physics maths and chemistry and for MTech relevant bachelors degree and accept entrance exams like KEAM JEE NATA GATE etc..and the cut off will be based on seat availability or number of applicants generally computer science have high cut off . And the admission process can be in online via college website or in person by giving the score cards academic documents and personal and relevant documents for verification. Over all the process is smooth with assistance accessibility from the college and students have highlited the scholarships also ....Read More
