Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is well structured and in touch with todays world. The seminars conducted are highly valuable as it gives insights about the Research world. I have gained innumerable research experience and polished my confidence in presenting papers.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities presented were from Cisco bank, TCS and other local companies.My internship was research based and gave me knowledge about various topics in the research field. We were also taken on a field trip to South Sikkim which was very educational about the local culture.
Fees and Financial Aid
He yearly fees paid for tuition was 53000 but as I availed a scholarship of Rs.12000 (merit based) my tuition fee was 42000 yearly. The fees for Sikkim Quota student was around Rs. 20000 and similar financial respite was given to other SC/ST students.
Campus Life
The infrastructure when I attended classes was on the development process but now the classrooms have better facilities. The social clubs run by students are extremely welcoming and helps individuals to reach their creative potential.
Admission
The University is located in serene landscape of Sikkim. The state is well balanced with culture and modernity that gives various opportunities to not only conventional work roles but to nurture creative journeys. Thus SMU is one of the best universities for people who doesn't want to live in big cities.
Faculty
The faculties of Humanities are extremely helpful and even after finishing my course I have good relation with them. The professors are not only engaged in academic fields but the overall growth of students. The exams are manageable if one pays enough attention in class.
Night Life
The timings for hostels are lenient as compared to others. The campus is surrounded by greenery and scenic nature. The Cafeteria is affordable and has variety of options. Sikkim is the safest state I have lived in and around the campus one can move round even when its nightime.
