Likes
- The teachers are understanding and help alot before exams
- The university allows liberty to students to host events and fest with just a few permissions and restrictions. But students are encouraged and supported by teachers completely.
- The infrastructure is also decent for students and classes also have projectors for digital understanding of various business topics.
Dislikes
- The access to department library is limited. It has certain timings so students have to go to whole other way from the department to the main library which is time consuming
- The exams are held twice with less time gap and thus syllabus sometimes is completed in a hurry
- The canteen doesn't have any healthy food options and sometimes lack hygiene
Course Curriculum Overview
The course initially covers broad basics, which is why I chose it, it lets you find your focus later. The curriculum is mostly relevant and does a good job preparing you for real world jobs. Exams are held twice a year and are moderately tough. We definitely need more updated course and modules on AI and modern digital business to make it more comprehensive
Internships Opportunities
Internships at GNDU are available and are mandatory for students to take during summer break. Many local firms, HDFC Bank , Bajaj Capital etc. hires students for internship programs. The stipends are usually low to moderate.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester or 4th year. Many companies like HDFC, ICICI, Local companies and firms visit for placement drive for various roles. The average package offered by university is around ?3-4 lakhs but only 30-40% of students successfully secure the on-campus placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The first fees I paid at the time of admission was ?80000. It included admission fees, Tuition Fees, University Fees and some other misc. fees for fests, events etc. From second year it went down to around ?60,000. Then it went lower to around ?40-50k. Many scholarship and financial aids are also available for underprivileged students or students from low income household but some are also merit based.
Campus Life
The university host two main events/fests known as "Youth Fest" and "Jashan". Many students participate in it even from other colleges. They have many categories and prizes for the winners and participants. There are many fests held by the departments within university as well. They are fun, educating and give exposure and experience to students.
Admission
I didn't applied to any other college because in my city the GNDU is the main and only university. All colleges are associated with it so I felt it's better to take admission in the main hub only. My parents didn't wanted me to go outside the city to study so that's also one of the reasons I didn't applied to any other college
Faculty
The faculty is highly approachable despite a wide student ratio. Exams are semester-based and moderately difficult and attendance is important to avoid backlogs. The curriculum is relevant but needs to be updated as per modern digital business topics
Night Life
I'm not much fond of the night life but as far as I've heard, its quiet as the hostel gates close at 9 p.m. There is a whole market for all necessities of students like food, clothes, stationary, grocery etc. on the opposite side of university. The locality is also safe and secure. The university is guarded by the policemen day and night, inside and outside university. The public areas of university also close at late evening as most of the places are empty.
