Remarks

There are many postive and negative comments against the college. The college is situated in a under developed place thus neighborhood is not pleasant. Also the infrastructure is not that great. Some of the faculty is so kind and hopes are there that much better infrastructure is available in upcoming years. Extracurricular activities are the best positive remark about the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The college is under the University Kerala Technical University. The curriculum is one of the toughest in the whole universe.Exam structure consists of internal exams , practical exams and end semester exams

Placement Experience

2.5

Most of the students now studying are under new university and thus chances of getting job mainly depends on the performance of the college in the rankings. Most time college under perform ,thus chances slims.

College Events

4.5

The best thing about the college life is the events and extracurricular activities that celebrated in much fashion.Every events like Onam,Vishu, Christmas etc are celebrated. Events like arts day, sports day are also conducted.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For my course ,the expesive of all courses in the college. It really put holes in your pocket. The course fee itself crosses the 1 lakh mark. Some other fee's like add on course are also there. So the courses are expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Most of the students are studying under some kind of loan like education loan availed in some banks. There are limited scholarships available in the college only for some Brainiacs. Most of other students need to find loan facility their own.

Campus Life

The best part about our college is extra curricular activities. The best among best is the award winning NSS groups. They are the best in the state. There are sports events conducted in college level.Labs are so poor but have some equipments. Though it is not enough,it's better than nothing.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel infrastructure is much better than college itself. There are different hostels for boys and girls. There are even different hostels for seniors and juniors. This there are different places for hostels. Thus they are so far from college.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are the back bone for new additions to college.Alumini network are the best and they were available when necessary. Most of the seniors are really friendly towards junios , though some times tension rise among each other.

Admission

Got admission based on the entrance exam rank and merit list based on the exam.It also look for the cumulative mark scored for the subjects like Maths, Physics and Chemistry.I got admission by entrance rank.

Faculty

Not too good and not too bad.So me of the faculty are best in the whole state. But some of them are really worst. Most of the time subjects are not completely covered thus resulting in very bad exam results.

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Henna Maryam's Review On MGM College of Engineering and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Malappuram

I have applied for many colleges all over Kerala through the allotment process. It includes Royal College at Thrissur, KMCT College at Kozhikode, and so on. The reason for not applying to the colleges mentioned above and the rest is because I got allotted in this college through KEAM rank in management quota and also it is nearer to my place. Actually, I took admission privately due to some reasons I was not able to take admission through the management quota. In the admission criteria, you should provide every document that includes your 10th and 12th certificates, entrance scorecards if any, and other documents that are required. The minimum mark for engineering is 70% and above. If you're qualified in any entrance exams it is more noticeable. The admission process is quite simple. Admission through the allotment process is just through ranking. For private admission just go to college and submit all documents....Read More
