Course Curriculum Overview
The BCA curriculum here is somewhat similar to a B.Tech CS degree, though not quite as vast. It prepares you well enough so that if you are hardworking and skilled, you can crack MNC interviews. The exams have tough practical questions, and without dedicated self-study, students can easily get backlogs in their semesters. One major area for improvement is that the college really needs to focus more on providing hands-on, practical industry knowledge rather than just standard coursework.
Placement Experience
To be honest, campus placements are quite low, and I don't think we can easily get placed directly from the college. Barely 40% of the students (or even fewer) get placed through the campus drives. However, if students practice coding and upskill on their own, they can secure off-campus placements by their second year. Because of the limited BCA placements, my personal plan is to pursue an MCA degree right after graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The campus infrastructure is quite good and provides a very decent environment for students to study and hang out.During my admission, the BCA semester fee was ?35,000. For new batches, the university usually increases the fee by about ?5,000 every year. Note that transportation charges are extra and are not included in this base semester fee. If you score 80% or above in your 12th board exams, you have a good chance of securing a merit scholarship.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty decent with good student involvement. During Durga Puja time, the college hosts the 'Navotsav' event, and for Diwali, we students organize a fest called 'Roshni'. The library has books available, but you strictly need a library card for access. Classrooms are standard and equipped with one projector each. Sports activities are organized about once a month. There are also several student-managed clubs and active social pages on Instagram that keep everyone connected.
Admission
I directly visited the university's admission office and expressed my interest in taking a look around the campus. The office staff was extremely accommodating and even arranged their transport facility for me to take a full campus tour. During the admission inquiry, they specifically asked if I had appeared for the CUET entrance exam. The overall admission process was smooth, and you can easily find further details and cutoffs on their official website.
Faculty
The university has decent facilities already in place. The teachers usually arrive for their classes on time, although occasionally they might get delayed due to other administrative work. The faculty-student relationship is quite positive, and the teachers are highly approachable. If students face any academic issues or have doubts, they can comfortably reach out to the professors for guidance.
Night Life
Because the campus has strict timings, the nightlife is minimal. The girls' hostel closes at 7:30 PM, and the boys' hostel closes at 8:30 PM. They recently opened a new gym, but there are strict rules: boys must wear half-t-shirts, and girls have completely separate time slots when boys aren't allowed inside at all. For hanging out, the most popular spot is an umbrella-shaded seating area near the bus stand where students love to sit and relax in their free time.
