Dislikes
- Some administrative work takes time during admissions and examinations. Faster communication and online updates would make the process more convenient for students
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because it offers a good mix of theory and practical subjects, which helped me understand the basics clearly. The curriculum is relevant for higher studies as well as entry-level jobs, although students should also learn extra skills on their own to stay updated with industry requirements. The teaching methods are good, and most faculty members explain concepts in a simple way
Placement Experience
Placement in my college are average, and students usually become eligible for placement drives in the final year. The placement cell conducts career guidance sessions, skill development workshops, and occasionally invites companies for recruitment. Many students also apply for off-campus jobs and internships to improve their career opportunities. The packages depend on the company and job profile, and students who have good academic records and technical skills generally get better opportunities
Fees and Financial Aid
In my course the fees are paid yearly and include tuition fees, admission fees, registration charges, development fees, laboratory fees, and other compulsory charges. The total fee for the complete course is around ₹90,000–₹1,30,000, with only a small increase, if any, each year. Students from SC, ST, OBC, and other eligible categories can apply for government scholarships and fee reimbursement schemes, while merit-based scholarships are also available for deserving students. The college provides proper guidance during the scholarship application process, making it easier for eligible students to receive final assistance
Campus Life
My overall campus experience has been positive. The college regularly organizes cultural festivals, seminars, and departmental activities throughout the academic year, which gave me opportunities to interact with other students and improve my confidence. The library has a good collection of textbooks, reference books, and journals that are useful for studies and project
Admission
I choose Smt. P. N. Doshi Women's College because it has a good academic reputation, experienced faculty, affordable fees, and is conveniently located for daily travel. I also considered a few other colleges during the admission process, but I found this college to be a better fit for my needs. The admission process was simple and based on merit according to the university guidelines
Faculty
The faculty members in my department are approachable and helpful whenever students need guidance. The faculty-to-student ratio is good enough for regular interaction, so doubts are usually cleared in class or after lectures. I found most teachers supportive, especially during practical sessions and exam preparation. I don't have any specific complaints about any faculty member, although a few classes could have been more interactive. The course structure includes both theory and practical subjects, which helped me build a good understanding of the basics. Every semester has internal assessments, practical exams, assignments, and an end-semester university examination
Night Life
Sine my college is a day college, nightlife on campus is limited, and most students leave after classes. The library, cafeteria, and other common facilities usually close by the evening as per the college schedule. Students often spend time with friends at nearby cafés and eateries in Ghatkopar after lectures before heading home
