Industrial engineering

Our college is Kerala's first Engineering college which started its operation long back in 1939, that is before Indian independence. We, therefore, have every facility unlike other colleges in Kerala, which we are bringing up for a long back.

Our University is Kerala technological university. Our Course Curriculum includes subjects such as principles of management, life skills, design project, design Engineering, and all the basic Engineering subjects of different departments in common plus core subjects of the respective departments. We have two series examinations conducted in one semester and a semester exam which is conducted at the end of the semester.

Placement and job opportunities are quite good. We have a placement unit that provides opportunities for all the students without backlogs and also with backlogs sometimes. Companies like Bosch, Siemens, and Sapient are some of the companies which come for recruitment.

Our academic year starts on August 1st and ends by June last week or so. There are many events happening in between which constitutes of Onam celebration, Sports day, Holi celebration, Teachers day, independence day, technical fest (Drishti), cultural fest(Dhwani), and freshers' day(Disha).

The fee structure is feasible for all types of students it cost only around 60,000 for our overall Engineering education. But if we include the other expenses such as hostel fee and others it counts up to 1 lakh for four years.

There are many Scholarship facilities for students which includes Egrants, Central sector scholarship, Merit cum means scholarship. The college also provides concessions for bright students. A loan facility is not needed for students since the college fee is feasible.

Extracurricular activities include facilities like using a physical education department with government recruited teachers for training also has a very large ground for cricket coaching and a basketball court, a volleyball court, training for table tennis, badminton, a fitness center, and many other small activities. We have a chemistry, physics, fluids, heat engines lab, and many other labs which are around 30 labs.

Hostel facilities are good with the different menus on different days with a balanced diet. Also, infrastructure is also adjustable with good room facilities and three matrons. Also with a fitness center. And a computer lab facility also the hostel fee is feasible which cost only up to 2000 per month.

The Alumni network is super and powerful we have a alumni connecting club named CETAAConnect, which organizes back-to-campus speaker sessions every month. Also, there are alumni meetings held every year in the month of July. We have an AC hall which was contributed by the alumni network. They also do much other help if needed like sponsorships.

There is an examination conducted by the Kerala government which is named as Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance examination (KEAM). The eligibilities for this examination include a diploma or HSSC from any board of education and above all the candidate should be a Keralite. There is two papers paper one for physics chemistry and paper two for maths which is calculated out of 900. College of Engineering Trivandrum is the toppest college among all the Engineering colleges in Kerala(excluding Nit Calicut). Admission here requires a rank below 5000 and all the topper layer of engineers graduate from here.

College faculties are government employees who got into college after writing a government test (PSC) which is difficult to Crack. Also, most of the teachers have Ph.D. in their respective subjects or at least Mtech from reputed institutions like IITs.
