Campus Life

Campus life at DAV College, Chandigarh, is lively and offers a good balance between academics and extracurricular activities. The college hosts annual cultural festivals like Aaghaaz and technical events in various departments, usually held between February and March. The library is well-stocked with a wide range of academic books, reference materials, and some journals, though access to modern e-journals could be improved. Classrooms are spacious and equipped with basic facilities like projectors and whiteboards, but more smart-class technology would enhance learning. Sports facilities include cricket and football grounds, a basketball court, and indoor games, with regular inter-college competitions. There are also NCC, NSS, and various departmental clubs, which organize events and workshops that help in skill development and networking. While the number of active student-run clubs is limited, those that exist have a positive impact on student life and participation. Overall, the campus atmosphere is friendly, disciplined, and engaging.

Faculty

The faculty-to-student ratio in the BCA department is quite balanced, and most teachers are approachable and helpful. They guide us not only in academics but also in projects and career advice. Some faculty members have deep subject knowledge and use practical examples to make concepts clear, while others rely more on theory. The course structure follows Panjab University’s syllabus, with a mix of theory and lab work. Exams are held every semester, including internal assessments and practicals. The marking scheme is fair, and students who attend classes regularly and prepare well generally pass without difficulty. Overall, the curriculum is relevant but could include more updated industry-oriented topics.

Campus Life

We had two fests every year as Magnus which is hostel at Navin Jindal Sports complex was our annual sports event and then the cultural event named Biswamil. So, both the events and then our department fests, seminars and all kept us busy. There are 3 auditorium and 4 canteens at our campus and two long and beautiful gardens to go by.

Course Curriculum Overview

Well, our course is one of the best courses available in the country as hardly any universities offers this course. Our course teaches us the best of human behaviour, culture and relationships. So it is one of the highest regard UG course in the country and JGU is the place to be for it.

Placement Experience

For campus placement students are eligible from the third year only . Companies like COLOR CODE, PANASONIC, SANDISK, INFOSYS , TCS etc. visits our campus and out of 100 only 10 are get selected because half of the students doesn't work on skill and opt for gate exam so they don't even sit for placement . Highest package - 12 lakhs per annum Lowest package - 3 lakh per year average package - 6 lakhs per annum 10% student gets placed as most of the students start the preparation of gate exam . After getting i will sit for placement and start the preparation of UPSC.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is good as faculties are helpful and accountable for any circumstances and they take care of their wards by improving their student's concepts. Prashant Kaushik sir is my favourite as he helped me in improving my communication skills and hesitation . Suyansh sir Amresh sir are so strict so i don't like them . Exams are taken as two sessionals and two semesters in a year where we have to score good either of the two sessionals but we have to score good in semester for geeting good CGPA. Many of the students easily get cleared the exam .

Campus Life

Our campus is quite big and perhaps the only girls college of DU with a hostel facilities. Sensing the demand, our college has blocks for each department and ours is in Arts building. We have a beautiful ground and the only issue the drainage as currently our college looks like a lake indeed. Our annual fest Tempest has a different rhythm altogether.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our of all the girls colleges of DU, Miranda House is one of the best as it charges fees lower than the rest. Our fees for my program English Hons is 22000 and last year it was only 20k. Girls have been supported both by government and the college so that needy and deserving both the students get scholarship.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being awarded a scholarship through my MCET ranking has significantly eased my financial burden while allowing me to pursue my quality education. The tuition fees is 40,000 which is fully covered by the government . In addition, the college offers the RIT( Research Industrials System) program, which brings international faculty to India to mentor and teach students. It offers practical learning, hands on learning and exposure to global academic standards.

Faculty

Faculty to student relationship is okay, acceptable. But faculties are partial, they do not give proper attention to all the students. One faculty from CSE dept. Mr. Rakesh teaches really well. They make sure that the knowledge they share is learnt by all. His technique of teaching and grabbing the attention of students is excellent. I wish we can get mire faculties like this so that students benefit from it.

Course Curriculum Overview

I'm passionate in Computer Science and engineering and my intermediate teachers suggested to take CSE. Some real-world applications are discussed in classes. The areas for improvement in the course is learning various languages like java language, python, java script. I think the difficult level of the exams is good. If it is a mid exam then morning shift exam is from 10 am to 12 pm and afternoon shift exam is from 2 pm to 4 pm. Semester exams can be morning or afternoon.

I came to this clg through EAMCET exam.So I got reimbursement so I don't pay the tution fee(40,000) but we need to pay the special fee(15,000) which is compulsory and need to be paid every year. For every semester we need to pay the sem fee(1000). For the students who didn't come through EAMCET should pay 100000.For hostlers the fee is 70000.The bus fee maximum is 20000.

Campus Life

The experience is good. The campus life will be good if you make good friends here, otherwise it'll be a little different. Fests are held ( fresher's fest etc..), but not many fests are held here. There are many books in library here. You'll find every book relevant to your course curriculum but out of that there are not so many books on other subjects. You can find free wifi's around acedamic block. There are few classes alloted for sports specially in your 1st year. Later on, the curriculum mostly focus on the course. There are many clubs like toast master, alankritha( art club) , coding club, sports club. These clubs are useful for students who participate in them in different ways.

Faculty to student ratio is good as faculty's support their ward in every situation and circumstances . After class we can clear all our doubts from the teachers . Teachers are approachable and accountable for every mistake. Ashwani sir , i like most as he helps me in maintaining my attendance in the college . Amresh sir , he is the hitler teacher of our college , in viva he asked very tough question and failed us , so i don't like him . Exams are taken twice in a year with two semester before that two sessional are take place i which we can give only one . Difficulty level is moderate and students often clear the exam efficiently .

Campus Life

Faculty

Faculty of electrical engineering is very strict. They can punish you any time for no reason. Overall, faculty is good. There is mid sem exam , CA( Continuous Assessment) and end term exam. Mid term is of 25 marks, CA is of 15 marks and end sem is of 60 marks.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course subjects are overall good for all branch. But, if a student is interested in giving competitive exams like GATE, then he must be facing problems as the semester course is more theoretical related and boring, the same old style education system.

Faculty

The faculty-to-student ratio is fairly balanced. The faculty is approachable, supportive, and always up for discussion. Faculty is well qualified, experienced, and holds phd degree. Many faculty members go beyond books and give examples based on real-life incidents, which makes the concepts clearer. faculty like Vijaylaxmi ma" am, Abhishek sir, and Ashu ma'am were amazing. There was a semester exam system where there were internals and externals on the E-pads. The exams were totally as per the syllabus.
