Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Courses combine engineering, computing, business, science, medicine, communication, education, arts, and social sciences. Indian applicants often begin with Computer Science, Business Analytics, engineering, finance, or artificial intelligence. The right shortlist depends on Mathematics and Physics for many technical bachelor’s courses, and on quantitative or subject-specific preparation for master’s study.

Major Faculties And Course Areas

  • Computing and data: Computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, business analytics and information systems.
  • Engineering: Computer, electrical, mechanical, aerospace, chemical, civil and environmental engineering.
  • Business and finance: Business, accountancy, marketing, financial engineering and management.
  • Science and health: Biological sciences, chemistry, physics, medicine and related research.
  • Arts, communication and education: Communication studies, economics, psychology, humanities and NIE education routes.

Use the course level and your current qualification as the first shortlist filters. Then compare NTU’s subject prerequisites, teaching language, duration, and programme-specific assessment.

Start with this decision:

  • Class XII applicant: first separate three-year business routes from four-year engineering and computing routes.
  • State-board applicant: check NTU’s current international qualification route before planning tests.
  • Master’s applicant: match the bachelor’s subjects, programming or statistics background, and programme-specific test rule.

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) UG Courses

Undergraduate study usually begins after Class XII. The exact entry profile depends on the degree. Check subjects, language, and any professional assessment before treating a course as a realistic option.

Undergraduate Course Table

These examples show the academic direction and the first Indian preparation check. Use the linked university course details for the full programme record.

Course Duration Main academic focus Indian student check
Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering 4 years Hardware, software, electronics and computer systems. Mathematics and Physics should be present in the Class XII preparation.
Bachelor of Computing in Computer Science 4 years Programming, algorithms, systems and computing foundations. Check Mathematics and the exact international qualification condition.
Bachelor of Business 3 years Business functions, management and applied decision-making. Review the Mathematics and English conditions for the intake.
Bachelor of Business Analytics 3 years Data analysis applied to business decisions and operations. Quantitative preparation is useful before comparing it with Business.
BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering 4 years Electrical systems, electronics and engineering design. Mathematics and Physics are important preparation subjects.

These are commonly compared options for Indian applicants. They are not an official popularity ranking. Compare the curriculum and eligibility instead of choosing by title alone.

  • Business Analytics uses data for business decisions and usually has a three-year structure.
  • Computer Engineering combines hardware and software in a four-year engineering route.
  • Mathematics is relevant to both, but Physics becomes important for the engineering choice.

How These Two Routes Differ

Computer Engineering combines hardware and software foundations. Business Analytics applies quantitative methods to organisational and commercial questions. The stronger choice depends on whether your preparation is closer to engineering systems or statistics, business, and data. Their career labels should not replace a module-level comparison.

Decision point Bachelor of Business Analytics Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering
Study level Undergraduate Undergraduate
Typical duration 3 years 4 years
Core academic focus Data analysis applied to business decisions and operations. Hardware, software, electronics, and computer systems.
First preparation check Quantitative preparation is useful before comparing it with Business. Mathematics and Physics should be present in the Class XII preparation.
Best first question Does your current qualification meet the exact course profile? Does your transcript show the required prior learning?
What can change the choice Teaching language, subject depth, and the selected intake. Prerequisite credits, assessment, and the selected application school or department.

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) PG Courses

Postgraduate choices are more dependent on the bachelor’s transcript. Read the course prerequisites before comparing duration, tuition or career direction. A related degree can still miss a required module.

Postgraduate Course Table

The table separates specialist and broader routes. Duration is a typical full-time structure and must be confirmed for the intake you choose.

Course Duration Main academic focus Indian bachelor’s check
MSc Artificial Intelligence 2 years Artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced computing. Check computing, mathematics and the exact experience requirement.
MSc Business Analytics 1 year Statistics, analytics, business decisions and applied projects. Statistics, mathematics or computing preparation should be clear.
MSc Electronics 1 year Electronic systems, devices and engineering applications. A related electrical or electronics degree is the natural route.
MSc Financial Engineering 1 year Quantitative finance, mathematics and financial modelling. Strong mathematics is a central fit check.
MSc Mechanical Engineering 1 year Mechanical systems, design, manufacturing and analysis. Match the engineering bachelor’s content to the specialisation.

How To Shortlist A Course

NTU’s course choice is not only about the subject. It also changes the mathematics level, prior degree requirement and likely application route. Use the course name as the starting point, then test the qualification, subject, and delivery conditions against your own profile.

Applicant starting point Course families to compare Evidence to prepare Do not assume
After Class XII Computer Engineering, Computing, Business or Engineering Mathematics and Physics where the course requires them Business Analytics is not the same as general Business.
With a relevant bachelor’s AI, Business Analytics or Financial Engineering Programming, statistics and quantitative modules A broad technology degree may miss a named prerequisite.
Choosing a study format Coursework, project or research-led postgraduate routes Assessment, project and dissertation structure One-year duration does not mean identical workload.
Planning Singapore entry UG and PG courses with different intakes Exact deadline, documents and current intake Do not reuse a faculty deadline for another course.

For Undergraduate Applicants

Students applying after Class XII should make the subject and language checks before comparing fees or city preferences.

  • Engineering and computing routes usually require Mathematics and Physics preparation. Check the exact subject combination for the selected degree.

  • Business and Business Analytics are different choices. Compare quantitative modules before treating them as interchangeable.
  • Singapore undergraduate applications can be highly course-specific. Record the exact qualification and test conditions for each choice.
  • Do not assume every NTU option uses the same intake or duration. The official programme record controls the structure.

For Postgraduate Applicants

Master’s applicants should read the prerequisite credits as carefully as the course title. A related bachelor’s degree can still miss a required foundation.

  • AI, Business Analytics and Financial Engineering all use quantitative preparation, but their prerequisite modules are different.
  • Electronics and Mechanical Engineering applicants should map the bachelor’s discipline to the named engineering prerequisites.
  • Check whether the programme is coursework, research-led or professional before comparing one-year and longer structures.
  • For Singapore applications, review the current intake and document schedule early because programme dates can differ.

Shortlisting Mistakes To Avoid

These errors can make a course look suitable before the actual qualification or application condition is checked.

  • Treating Business Analytics and general Business as the same academic route.
  • Ignoring Mathematics or Physics requirements for engineering and computing degrees.
  • Assuming one NTU intake or funding condition applies to every programme.

Course Structure And Study Options

NTU’s course groups span engineering, computing, business and specialist postgraduate study. The course title does not show the full academic route. Compare the degree structure, mathematics level, lab or project component and current intake.

Duration alone does not show how a degree feels to study. Check when specialisation starts, whether a placement or research project is compulsory, and whether the teaching language changes by level.

  • NTU undergraduate duration depends strongly on the degree. Business routes can be three years, while many engineering and computing routes are four years.
  • Some programmes include double degrees, second majors or interdisciplinary core learning.
  • Postgraduate duration varies by school and mode. Verify the candidature period on the exact programme record.

Eligibility For Indian Students

Eligibility is course-specific. Indian students should compare the qualification route, academic subjects, and English evidence together. A university-wide minimum cannot replace the selected programme’s conditions.

Undergraduate Entry Check

Indian Class XII students should check the Mathematics and Physics combination for engineering and computing choices. Business Analytics is more quantitative than a general business degree. Record each course’s subject requirements separately before submitting preferences.

  • NTU publishes separate routes for Indian CBSE/ISC and other boards. Do not transfer a requirement from one route to another.
  • Programme prerequisites can include Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or other named subjects.

Postgraduate Entry Check

NTU postgraduate courses often expect a closely related bachelor’s degree or strong quantitative preparation. Business Analytics, AI and Financial Engineering are not interchangeable. Match prior modules and programming or statistics evidence to the selected course.

  • Master’s applicants should match the bachelor’s discipline, quantitative preparation and any work experience condition.
  • English scores and tests such as GRE or GMAT are programme-specific.

English Language Requirements

English test requirements are programme-specific. A score shown for one NTU course should not be treated as a university-wide guarantee. Check the current accepted tests, component minimums and any waiver wording.

Qualification warning: Do not convert a broad Indian percentage or degree title into an automatic admission decision. Match your subjects, credits and language evidence to the exact course.

Course Tests And Application Timing

NTU does not use one common entrance test for every course. Undergraduate assessment depends on the qualification route and programme. Selected courses can add interviews, portfolios or aptitude steps. Graduate tests vary by school, so identify the course before planning GRE, GMAT or another exam.

Timing That Matters

Singapore application calendars can differ between undergraduate and postgraduate routes. Some programmes use a single annual cycle, while others publish separate intakes. Start with the exact course deadline and document list.

Application Route By Study Level

NTU applications vary by study level and programme. Keep academic transcripts, subject records, test scores and supporting documents aligned to the selected course. Do not reuse a document checklist from a different faculty without checking the current instructions.

After shortlisting, check the NTU admission information for the route, documents and current deadlines. Do not transfer an undergraduate deadline to a postgraduate course.

Test and language check: Do not plan GRE, GMAT, or an undergraduate aptitude test from the university name alone. The qualification route and exact programme control the requirement.

Shortlist Nanyang Technological University (NTU) courses by study level, subject preparation, teaching language, and duration. Then open the exact course details, confirm the current entry conditions, and compare the next application step before deciding.

  • I am studying Business and Entrepreneurship. The course is not very difficult; the level of difficulty depends mainly on the specialization. For eg, specializations such as Risk Analytics and Actuarial Sciences are very hard, Finance and Business Analytics are mid, and Marketing and Human Resources are very easy. The course is highly practical, where each session requires you to be vocal. Positives are that you get specialized knowledge in one field, which helps to land a job better, negative is the repetition that comes with it.
  • In a day, there would be no more than 3 classes, but each can be 3-4 hours long. The average number of students in one class is 35. There are not many Indians in Business. Most of them are in computer science.

Fees

  • 20,000 to 22,000 Singaporean Dollars per semester for a minimum of 3.5 semesters to a maximum of 12 semesters, depending on different courses. Hostel fees vary according to Hall, Room Type (Aircon/ Non-Aircon), and Occupancy (Single / Double Sharing). There are also rooms with attached washrooms, which can be even more expensive. The fees is charged on an annual basis. Monthly expenses include:
    • Food - $300
    • Groceries - $200
    • Laundry - $20
    • Phone Recharge - $30
    • Travel - $50
    • Books - $100
    • Miscellaneous - $50
    • Total - $750
  • All figures are in Singaporean dollars.

  • The curriculum is quite challenging. While it may start out quite simple, with our foundational classes being similar to 11th and 12th grades, very quickly it will ramp up and get harder and harder. The positive aspect is that the content is quite rich and detailed, though it may be dated at times and require some updates. Classes are usually split into lectures and tutorials for each course, with lectures requiring the entire cohort, while tutorials are smaller groups working on problems based on the lecture content.
  • Timings are free for you to choose and your timetable is planned by you. My courses usually have around 300-350 students for common major modules and much smaller numbers for electives and specialisations. In Mechanical Engineering there are not many Indians enrolled – around 50 or so in my cohort of 700 – but there are a lot more in Computer Science/Engineering and EEE.

Fees

  • Approximately 10 lakhs per semester ($16,750) for tuition fees – it is billed per semester, though for different courses there will be a difference in the semester fee
  • Approximately 2.6 lakhs per year for hostel, being around INR 30,000 ($450) per month, fees change based on room
  • Approximately INR40,000 ($600) per month in expenses, including food and other activities. Can be lower based on how much the student wishes to spend

  • It’s quite difficult for me to understand teaching is quite different from India; it takes time for me to adapt to the course curriculum and started learn, here mostly it’s not about memorizing; it’s about understanding the concept and applying it in the real world. mostly there will be a project for every subject for understanding the subjects better. In my course I Iam the one and only Indian; mostly Chinese people. For master's student students, class time will be 6:30 pm to 9:45 pm; mostly part-time students will study so timing will be evening only.

Fees

  • If you take a full-time (1-year) course, you have to pay like 50% in the first semester and another 50% in the second semester. And for part-time, 2 years means we have to pay 25% in each semester.
  • College hostel fee around 500 sgd.
  • If you take a room outside, it costs around 1000 SGD. Transport will cause depends on where you stay; if you stay in college, the buses are free, but outside campus there will be a charge of around 5 SGD per day.food is quite expensive and might take around 1000 sgd per month, depending on the individual.

  • The course curriculum is challenging but manageable if you study regularly. So the courses require you to complete weekly assignments. So, if you are done with the weekly stuff, then you won't face any difficulties. As the entire weightage does not rely only on final, small small scores build up to your final grade.
  • The courses are usually a mix of theoretical and practical learning. Lectures usually teach you the theory stuff, which you can polish in tutorial classes. While labs while giving the opportunity to get the hands-on experience.
  • Negative - Sometimes the coursework can be a bit overwhelming, with a lot of clashing assignments, so instead of procrastinating for the last minute, students should finish the assignments once released.
  • Positive: The professors and tutors are extremely helpful and reachable. However, the effort to reach out must be made by the student. I remember, in one of my courses, I had a doubt in one of the topics. My tutor went a step ahead and gave me more practice questions to help me clear out that topic.
  • Usually 1-2 lectures, 1 tutorial, or 1 lab per day.
  • Lectures have the entire batch of around 800 students. Tutorials have around 20 students. Labs have around 40 students.
  • Indians are around 150.

Fees

  • All fees are in SGD.The annual breakdown includes tuition fees ($36,000), hostel fees ($4,000), and other fees ($1,000), totalling $41,000.
  • Fees are charged per semester.
  • Additionally, my monthly expenses, including food and transport, amount to $4,000. But this can depend on your dining preferences and how often you go out of campus. This can be lower if you regularly dine in inside the campus food courts, which provide subsidised food.

About the course curriculum, the curriculum is properly updated with all the recent changes and developments. It is more focused through practical knowledge rather than theoretical studies. We get assignments very frequently and to complete the assignments it?s important to be regular with the course work.

Since I was from Singapore so I had the knowledge about various universities of Singapore, and after that I found this university to be fulfilling all my expectations so I joined it.

the curriculum of this programme is not as heavy as one might expect. You are allowed to choose as little as 3 modules per semester. The course is divided into 2 options. the research option allows you to undertake a short research project provided it is approved by the university. the coursework option is simply 10 modules and you have to pass all modules whilst maintaining a specific GPA. There are no industrial attachments in this programme. students are encouraged to find their own internships. Group work and presentations assigned to students tackle recent, relevant issues in the field of supply chain management.

NTU is one of the worlds top universities with a proven history of producing graduates with strong technical backgrounds. The programme itself is not as qualitative in nature as other ms supply chain programmes in the world. Personally, i did a bachelors in business in supply chain management so pursuing a masters in science instead was slightly daunting because supply chain as a business is not as difficult to comprehend as supply chain as a science. I desired to be proficient in the nitty-gritty of supply chain management. The university has facilities that most other universities do not possess. There are abundant opportunities available to work on various technological equipment and software.
