Nanyang Technological University fees for Indian students range from SGD 36,350 (INR 27.26 Lakhs) per year for non-lab undergraduate degrees to SGD 89,380 (INR 67.04 Lakhs) for the full-programme Nanyang MBA.

The core fee anchors for the current cycle:

  • UG non-lab (Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences), AY2026/27: SGD 36,350 (INR 27.26 Lakhs) per year
  • UG lab-based (Engineering, Science, Computing), AY2026/27: SGD 40,600 (INR 30.45 Lakhs) per year
  • UG Accountancy and Business tracks, AY2026/27: SGD 45,600 (INR 34.20 Lakhs) per year
  • Nanyang MBA (12 months, full programme): SGD 89,380 (INR 67.04 Lakhs)
  • Nanyang Scholarship: full tuition covered plus SGD 6,500 (INR 4.88 Lakhs) annual living allowance

A four-year Engineering degree at NTU adds up to roughly INR 1.22 Crore in tuition alone, and a one-year MSc Data Science sits at about INR 47.42 Lakhs full programme, both quoted at the fee that follows you for the full duration of study.

All INR figures use 1 SGD = INR 75 (July 2026).

Nanyang Technological University Tuition Fees by Programme for Indian Students

Nanyang Technological University charges Indian students the non-subsidised international rate, inclusive of Singapore’s 9 percent GST.

  • The rate splits three ways: lab-based (Engineering, Science, Computing), non-lab (Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences), and the higher-priced Business and Accountancy tracks.
  • Coursework Masters are quoted as full-programme fees, not per year, because most run 12 to 18 months.

Nanyang Technological University Scholarships for Indian Students

NTU auto-considers most incoming international undergraduates for merit-based scholarships as part of the admission application, so no separate form is needed for the two flagship undergraduate awards below. Postgraduate coursework students have far fewer institutional options and typically rely on India-side awards.

Nanyang Technological University Institutional Scholarships

Scholarship Level Coverage How Applied
Nanyang Scholarship UG Full tuition + SGD 6,500 (INR 4.88 Lakhs)/year living + overseas exchange grant + computer allowance Auto-assessed with admission application; no bond
Nanyang Global Merit Scholarship UG Tuition Grant subsidy + SGD 6,500 (INR 4.88 Lakhs)/year living allowance Auto-assessed with admission application; carries standard 3-year Tuition Grant bond
NTU-India Connect Research Scholarship UG research internship Return airfare + monthly stipend of SGD 1,500 (INR 1.13 Lakhs) Separate application; open to Indian nationals studying in India

Nanyang Technological University Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

Some NTU coursework Master’s programmes require students to pay a S$5,000 (₹3.75 Lakhs) non refundable acceptance deposit after accepting an offer. The deposit is credited against the student’s first tuition fee payment and may also be non transferable. Deposit requirements vary by programme, so applicants should check the fee section of their specific course page.

After accepting the offer, eligible full time international students receive the information required to submit their Student’s Pass application through ICA. The In Principle Approval (IPA) letter is issued after ICA approves the Student’s Pass application. The IPA can be used for entry into Singapore and is required to complete the Student’s Pass formalities.

Methods of Payment

  • Telegraphic transfer (SWIFT): The primary route from Indian banks. Allow 3 to 5 working days for value date; keep the SWIFT copy for your visa and loan file.
  • NTU’s designated international payment provider (Flywire): Cuts intermediary bank charges by roughly 2 to 3 percent versus a raw SWIFT wire; usable in INR directly.
  • Forex card: Load SGD before departure for daily spend and small fee payments; not practical for full tuition due to card ceilings.
  • Education loan disbursement: HDFC Credila, Avanse, ICICI, and SBI all disburse directly to NTU on the university’s proforma invoice. Sanction letter is accepted by ICA as proof of funds for the Student’s Pass.

Steps to Pay the Tuition Fee for International Students

  1. Accept the offer online through the NTU Admissions Portal within the offer-letter deadline (typically two weeks).
  2. Pay the SGD 5,000 (INR 3.75 Lakhs) acceptance deposit via Flywire or SWIFT.
  3. Complete the Student’s Pass application on ICA’s SOLAR+ system; receive the In-Principle Approval letter.
  4. Pay the balance of the first-semester tuition by the invoice due date (usually 4 weeks before term start).
  5. Retain every receipt and SWIFT confirmation for your immigration and loan-disbursement file.

Hidden Costs of Studying at Nanyang Technological University

The line items below sit outside the tuition and hall-fee columns and are the ones Indian families most often forget. For the August 2027 intake, the two most time-sensitive are the mandatory insurance uplift and the outbound one-way airfare, which peaks in July.

  • Student’s Pass fees: NTU lists a SGD 60 Student’s Pass issuance fee and a SGD 30 multiple journey visa fee, if applicable
  • Mandatory student insurance: All matriculated full time NTU undergraduate and postgraduate students are required to be covered under the university’s insurance schemes. The insurance premium is included in the Health Services Fee charged through the student bill.
  • Pre enrolment medical check up: International students must complete the required medical screening before starting their programme. Current NTU published fees at Raffles Medical clinics in Singapore are SGD 54.50 for most programmes, SGD 64.31 for Biological Sciences related programmes, and SGD 83.93 for Medicine and Chinese Medicine programmes. Students using another licensed clinic must pay a SGD 16.35 document endorsement fee to Raffles Medical. Additional tests may result in extra charges.

Total first-year hidden costs land at roughly INR 1.5 to 2.5 Lakhs on top of tuition and living. Budget them explicitly, most Indian applicants underestimate this bucket by half.

Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students at Nanyang Technological University

The single most time-sensitive lever for the August 2027 intake is the Tuition Grant decision at undergraduate level. It halves your tuition in exchange for a three-year Singapore employment bond, and it is not available if you defer the decision past your admission acceptance window.

  • Accept the MOE Tuition Grant (UG only)
  • Bid for on-campus hall accommodation: Halls at SGD 350 to 700 (INR 26,250 to 52,500) per month versus off-campus at SGD 1,200 to 1,800 (INR 90,000 to 1.35 Lakhs).
  • Work part-time up to 16 hours per week during term
  • Claim Section 80E interest deduction on your Indian education loan
  • Route funds through Flywire, not raw SWIFT: Saves 2 to 3 percent per transfer, worth INR 1 to 1.5 Lakhs per year on Masters tuition.

Tip for Indian Students: For the August 2027 UG intake, the highest-value saving is accepting the Tuition Grant if you are open to working in Singapore for three years post-graduation. That single decision cuts a four-year Engineering degree by roughly INR 60 Lakhs. If a return to India is non-negotiable, decline the grant and lean harder on hall accommodation plus the Nanyang Global Merit Scholarship.

Is Nanyang Technological University Worth the Cost for Indian Students

A one-year MSc Data Science at NTU is a total investment of roughly INR 63.56 Lakhs against a Singapore-market starting salary that for Employment Pass eligibility begins at SGD 5,600 (INR 4.20 Lakhs) per month, and typically lands SGD 6,500 to 8,500 (INR 4.88 to 6.38 Lakhs) per month for NTU Data Science and Business Analytics graduates in the Singapore tech and finance sectors.

  • NTU’s location inside Southeast Asia’s largest financial hub, combined with the university’s own on-campus employer pipeline (DBS, Grab, Shopee, ByteDance, Standard Chartered, and the Big Four all recruit from campus each semester), keeps conversion from OPT-equivalent employment to Employment Pass strong for STEM and Business graduates.
  • On the EMI-versus-salary maths, a INR 60 Lakh education loan at 10.5 percent over 10 years is an EMI of approximately INR 80,000 per month.
  • Set against the SGD 6,500 (INR 4.88 Lakhs) monthly EP-track salary common for NTU MSc graduates, that is under 17 percent of gross monthly income.
  • Payback of the full loan tracks 4 to 5 years for a graduate who stays in Singapore, versus 8 to 10 years for a graduate who returns to India on a INR 25 to 35 Lakh Indian tech-sector salary.

Key Insight: The number that makes NTU financially sound for an August 2027 Indian entrant is the payback window. A INR 63.56 Lakh Year-1 investment repays in roughly 4 to 5 years if you convert to an Employment Pass in Singapore, or 8 to 10 years if you return to India on a domestic tech-sector salary. NTU is worth the cost if your five-year plan includes at least three years of Singapore-based employment; the finance changes materially if it does not.

Total Year-1 spend at NTU for the August 2027 intake sits between INR 42.42 Lakhs (UG Engineering with hall accommodation) and INR 83.19 Lakhs (Nanyang MBA, full programme paid in Year 1). Stacking the Nanyang Global Merit Scholarship, hall accommodation, and Flywire payment routing typically cuts INR 8 to 10 Lakhs off the top line. The single action to take before September 2026 is preparing your Inlaks and JN Tata scholarship files, since both close before most NTU offers are released.

Nanyang Technological University Fees FAQs

Ques. What is the total tuition fee at Nanyang Technological University for Indian students in 2026?

Ans. Undergraduate tuition for Indian students at Nanyang Technological University ranges from SGD 36,350 to SGD 45,600 (INR 27.26 to 34.20 Lakhs) per year for AY2026/27, depending on programme band. Coursework Masters are quoted as full-programme fees, from SGD 52,000 (INR 39.00 Lakhs) for MSc Business Analytics up to SGD 89,380 (INR 67.04 Lakhs) for the Nanyang MBA. All fees include 9 percent GST.

Ques. Are Indian students eligible for the MOE Tuition Grant at NTU?

Ans. Yes, at undergraduate level. Accepting the Tuition Grant halves your annual tuition, from SGD 40,600 (INR 30.45 Lakhs) to roughly SGD 20,650 (INR 15.49 Lakhs) for lab-based programmes, in exchange for a three-year work-in-Singapore bond post-graduation. At postgraduate coursework level, the MOE Tuition Grant has not been available to new international entrants from AY2020/21 onward, so PG Indian students pay the full non-subsidised fee.

Ques. What is the acceptance deposit at Nanyang Technological University?

Ans. The acceptance deposit is SGD 5,000 (INR 3.75 Lakhs), due within two weeks of receiving your offer. It is credited toward your first-semester tuition bill if you enrol, and is non-refundable if you withdraw.

Ques. Which intakes should Indian students target at Nanyang Technological University?

Ans. The August intake is the primary entry point for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. A narrower January intake exists for select coursework Masters. For Indian applicants beginning the process now, the realistic entry is August 2027 (applications open October 2026, close March 2027 for UG). January 2028 is a fallback for select PG programmes only.

Ques. How much is the cost of living at NTU for Indian students?

Ans. NTU’s published cost-of-living range is SGD 1,275 to 1,775 (INR 95,625 to 1,33,125) per month, which covers hall accommodation, hawker-centre food, transport, utilities, and personal expenses. On a 10-month academic year, that adds up to INR 9.56 to 13.31 Lakhs; on a 12-month PG basis it is INR 11.48 to 15.98 Lakhs.

Ques. Can Indian students work part-time while studying at NTU?

Ans. Yes. Student’s Pass holders can work up to 16 hours per week during term-time and full-time during vacations. On-campus roles typically pay SGD 12 to 18 (INR 900 to 1,350) per hour, offsetting roughly INR 4 to 6 Lakhs per academic year of living costs.

Ques. How much education loan do I need for a Master’s at Nanyang Technological University?

Ans. Budget INR 60 to 65 Lakhs for a full-programme MSc such as Data Science or Financial Engineering, covering tuition, living, mandatory insurance, and airfare for a 12-month programme. For the Nanyang MBA, budget INR 80 to 85 Lakhs. A INR 60 Lakh loan at 10.5 percent over 10 years carries an EMI of roughly INR 80,000 per month.

Ques. Does Nanyang Technological University offer post-study work rights like the UK Graduate Route?

Ans. Singapore has no automatic post-study work permit. To stay and work after graduation, you need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, which requires a minimum monthly salary starting at SGD 5,600 (INR 4.20 Lakhs) for most sectors. NTU’s on-campus recruitment pipeline into DBS, Grab, Shopee, ByteDance, Standard Chartered, and the Big Four keeps conversion rates strong for STEM and Business Masters graduates.

Ques. How does the NTU Nanyang MBA fee compare to other Asian MBAs?

Ans. The Nanyang MBA at SGD 89,380 (INR 67.04 Lakhs) full programme sits below the INSEAD Singapore campus (roughly INR 90 Lakhs) and comparable to CEIBS China (INR 55 to 65 Lakhs), while offering a Singapore-based post-graduation employment pathway. On a cost-per-month basis for a 12-month programme, it is one of the higher-value one-year MBAs in Asia for Indian applicants targeting Singapore or regional finance and tech roles.

  • I stay in the hostel, which is the most convenient accommodation. Every student is guaranteed a hostel for the first 2 years if they want. Then, after they would have to contribute to their halls by taking part in clubs and societies.
  • The monthly rent ranges from $500 to $700, depending on the occupancy of the room and air-conditioning facilities.
  • Just be active in clubs and societies.
  • Most of the Indian students stay in the hostel itself.
