NEET 2026 Result Out: NTA Confirms Your Score Opens MBBS Abroad Route

The National Testing Agency has declared the Re-NEET UG 2026 result on July 16, 2026 at neet.nta.nic.in. The news matters most to students who qualified but miss a government MBBS seat. Is NEET Qualification Mandatory for MBBS Abroad?

Yes. The National Medical Commission requires a qualifying NEET score for any Indian student who wants to practise medicine in India after an overseas MBBS. This has been the rule since the 2018 health ministry notification, later fixed in the NMC FMGL Regulations 2021.

Your NEET scorecard itself acts as the eligibility certificate. You no longer need a separate document from the NMC. Without a qualifying NEET score, you cannot sit the licensing exam or register as a doctor in India.

What NEET Score Do You Need for MBBS Abroad?

You do not need a top rank. You only need to clear the minimum qualifying cutoff for your category. Foreign universities set no NEET score bar of their own.

Which Countries Do Indian Students Choose for MBBS Abroad?

Four destinations take the bulk of this cohort. Each is English-medium and has NMC-approved universities. Fees run far below private Indian colleges.

How Do You Practise in India After MBBS Abroad?

You must pass a licensing exam after graduating. This is the FMGE, the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination. It is being replaced by the NExT, the National Exit Test that Indian and foreign graduates will both sit.

The FMGE is hard. The June 2025 session recorded a pass rate of 18.61%, meaning close to 29,000 graduates failed. Your country and university choice moves these odds sharply.

Check the NMC-approved list and past FMGE pass rates before you pay any university. A cheaper college with a weak pass record can cost you the licence itself.
