Regent’s University London is a private, independent university located inside Regent’s Park in central London. It was established in 1984 and granted full university status in 2013. The University is ranked #1 in the United Kingdom for freedom of expression in the National Student Survey 2025. It also features in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 at band 201-300 for Business and Management Studies.

The University teaches undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA programmes entirely in English. Its faculties span business, finance, fashion, humanities, psychology and law. Popular Indian-student courses include MA International Business, MSc Finance and Financial Technology, MSc AI for Business and Innovation, LLB Law, BA Fashion Marketing and the Global MBA. Regent’s sits alongside other small specialist providers among the London-based universities in the United Kingdom.

  • Ranking: Not ranked in QS World 2027; QS Business subject 2026 band 201-300
  • Acceptance rate: Around 86% (Based on 3rd party stats)
  • Intakes: September (main) and January (rolling admissions)
  • PG tuition: £11,000 to £39,000 per year (INR 14.13 lakh to INR 50.10 lakh)
  • Student body: 3,000 students; 80% international from over 140 countries
  • Graduate outcomes: 86% in highly skilled roles within 15 months of graduation

Regent’s has held its Business and Management subject band across recent QS subject cycles. It places among specialist private providers in London rather than the larger Russell Group research universities. The University of Westminster is the closest public counterpart in the same postal district.

Tuition is identical for home and international students and is fixed for the full duration of each course. This shields Indian applicants from mid-course fee hikes seen at some public UK universities. Global Scholarships worth £1,000 to £4,000 off tuition are open to Indian applicants pursuing an MS in the United Kingdom. Graduates remain eligible for the Graduate Route work visa, which is 18 months for applications submitted from 1 January 2027 onwards.

Exchange rate used:
1 GBP = INR 128.45

Admission Status: Rolling. Regent’s University London accepts applications throughout the year with no fixed closing date. The Autumn 2026 (September) intake remains open, the Spring 2027 (January) intake is also open, and applications for Autumn 2027 continue on a first-come, first-served basis until each programme fills. Priority scholarship assessment applies to applicants who confirm their tuition deposit earlier in the cycle.

Regent’s University London Admission 2027

Regent’s University London runs rolling admissions with two main intake windows each year. The primary Indian-student intake is September (autumn), and a secondary intake runs in January (spring). There is no fixed application deadline for either window; applications close only when individual programmes fill.

Milestone Date Notes for Indian Applicants
Application deadline Rolling; apply 6-8 months before intake start Applies to UG and PG; earlier applications get priority scholarship review
UCAS equal consideration (UG via UCAS) 14 January 2027 UG applications submitted by this date reviewed together; direct applications separate
Programme start (Spring 2027) Expected January 2027 (based on prior cycles) Available for select programmes only; confirm at official portal
Programme start (Autumn 2027) Expected September 2027 (based on prior cycles) Main intake across the full programme portfolio

Planning note: The University issues CAS letters only after the tuition deposit is paid, and the standard UK Student visa itself takes about 15 working days to process. Indian applicants targeting the September 2027 intake should aim for an unconditional offer by June 2027 to keep visa timelines comfortable.

Regent’s University London Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027

Entry requirements at Regent’s University London stay broadly consistent across the portfolio. The specific programme page should be checked for any additional programme-level requirements.

Postgraduate Requirements at Regent’s University London 2027

  • Academic: Indian bachelor’s degree equivalent to UK 2:2 (Lower Second Class), typically 55% and above from a recognised university
  • English proficiency: IELTS Academic  6.5 overall with no band below 5.5 (verify at official admissions page)
  • Alternative English tests: Regent’s Password Skills Plus test offered free to conditional-offer holders
  • MBA-specific: Relevant post-graduation work experience for the Global MBA in addition to the academic requirement

Undergraduate Requirements at Regent’s University London 2027

  • Academic: Class 12 with 60% from CBSE or CISCE; 65% from state boards
  • English proficiency: IELTS Academic 6.0 overall with no band below 5.5 (verify at official admissions page)
  • English waiver for Indian applicants: CBSE and CISCE Class 12 English marks accepted as proof, subject to the minimum grade set by the University

Key insight: The CBSE and CISCE English waiver is one of the strongest concessions offered to Indian applicants across UK universities. It removes a significant time and cost barrier for candidates whose academic English is already strong.

Regent’s University London Acceptance Rate 2027

The acceptance rate at Regent’s University London sits at approximately 86% (estimated figure). Official year-by-year admissions statistics are not published by the University. The figure is a widely reported estimate rather than a verified rolling annual number.

Regent’s is a small private provider with rolling admissions. Decisions are made on individual academic and English fit rather than a fixed cohort cap. Applicants meeting the published UG or PG academic threshold and the IELTS minimum are typically offered a place, subject to seat availability in the target programme.

Reality check: A high headline acceptance rate does not mean automatic entry. Popular programmes such as MSc Finance and Financial Technology and the Global MBA can close mid-cycle. An Indian applicant meeting the academic bar in July for a September intake is competing on seat availability rather than academic merit.

Regent’s University London Campus, Facilities and Student Life

Regent’s University London occupies an 11-acre gated site inside Regent’s Park, one of the eight royal parks in central London. It is one of only two universities in London with a park-front campus. Teaching, library and student services all sit within a single walkable estate a few minutes from Baker Street and Great Portland Street Tube stations.

  • Location: Regent’s Park, London NW1; within Zone 1 and 15 minutes on the Tube to the Financial District
  • Accommodation: No on-campus halls; the University advises students on off-campus private-sector rentals
  • Facilities: Central library, Herringham Hall auditorium, drama studios, on-campus catering and a park-front terrace
  • Community: Around 80% of the 3,000-student body is international, with an active Indian student presence and cultural societies

The University sits in the same central-London belt as many of the top education universities in London, but with a much smaller enrolment and higher staff-to-student ratio.

What Indian students say: The small campus and tutor-first teaching model gets consistent praise from Indian postgraduate students. The lack of on-campus halls and the cost of renting privately in Zone 1 are cited as the biggest early-arrival adjustments.

  • Highly skilled employment (15 months): 86% of graduates in highly skilled roles
  • Median starting salary: Not disclosed by the University at cohort level
  • Top hiring sectors: Financial services, marketing, fashion, luxury retail, consulting and tech
  • Alumni network: Approximately 30,000 alumni across 130+ countries
  • Career support: One-to-one career coaching, industry-panel events and internship listings

Insider note: The Graduate Route work visa is the main post-study lever for Indian graduates from Regent’s. Recruiters familiar with the University tend to be London-based mid-market employers rather than Big Four graduate schemes, which more actively target Russell Group intakes.

Regent’s University London vs Peer Universities

Indian applicants typically weigh Regent’s against other central-London specialist or mid-tier universities on fees, campus scale and ranking. The peer set below covers small private and mid-tier public providers in London, plus the University of London federation for wider context.

Regent’s University London stands out for its all-international cohort, small class sizes and the practical business, finance, fashion and psychology mix. It trades scale, research intensity and headline QS rank for a focused specialist environment. Its NSS 2025 top rank for freedom of expression is a genuine differentiator in the London private-provider market.

Note: Fee comparisons between UK private and public providers should factor in Regent’s fixed-fee guarantee. Public counterparts often raise tuition each year and can add £2,000 to £3,000 to total programme cost by graduation.

Regent’s University London fits an Indian applicant who wants a small, international, career-focused central-London campus and can comfortably fund a total annual investment of INR 40 to 80 lakh across tuition and living. It plays best for postgraduate students in business, finance, fashion and psychology who value tutor access over research rank.

The Global Scholarships trim postgraduate tuition, the CBSE and CISCE English waiver removes a common friction point, and the Graduate Route work visa keeps post-study employment routes open in London. Regent’s mid-market employer base gives Indian graduates a workable London launchpad relative to other universities in England, if not automatic Big Four graduate-scheme entry.

Regent’s is not the right choice for candidates whose priority is a top-100 QS place, Russell Group signalling or heavy research output. Those Indian applicants are better served by the University of Manchester or another comparable large public university with mainstream league-table visibility.

FAQs

Ques. Which alternatives to IELTS does Regent’s University London accept for postgraduate admission?

Ans. Regent’s University London accepts several alternatives to IELTS Academic including TOEFL iBT, Pearson PTE Academic and Cambridge English at postgraduate level. Applicants who already hold a conditional offer can also take the free Password Skills Plus test administered by Regent’s itself. Exact minimum scores vary by test and by programme, and Indian applicants should confirm the current threshold on the official admissions page.

Ques. How many hours can Indian students work per week at Regent’s during term time?

Ans. Indian students on a UK Student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during term time, regardless of which university they attend. Outside term time and during official vacation periods, full-time work is permitted. These rules are set by UK Visas and Immigration and apply to Regent’s students the same as to any other UK Student Route sponsor holder.

Ques. Is there an application fee at Regent’s University London for Indian applicants?

Ans. Regent’s University London does not charge a separate application fee for direct applications made through its online postgraduate portal. Undergraduate applications submitted through UCAS attract the standard UCAS application fee, which is paid to UCAS rather than to the University. Indian applicants should confirm the current fee position on the official admissions page before submitting.

Ques. Does Regent’s require GRE or GMAT for postgraduate admission?

Ans. Regent’s does not require GRE or GMAT scores for its postgraduate taught programmes, including MA International Business, MSc Finance and Financial Technology and MSc AI for Business and Innovation. Admission decisions are based on the bachelor’s grade, personal statement, references and English proficiency. Global MBA applicants must instead show relevant post-graduation work experience in place of a standardised test score.

Ques. Which Indian banks offer education loans for Regent’s University London students?

Ans. Regent’s University London is recognised by major Indian public and private lenders including SBI, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Credila, Axis Bank and Avanse for education loans. Regent’s is a UK degree-awarding body listed by UK ENIC, so its programmes typically qualify under standard overseas education loan schemes. Indian applicants should confirm loan eligibility with the specific lender before signing the tuition deposit invoice.

Ques. Can Indian students bring dependents on a UK Student visa at Regent’s?

Ans. UK Home Office rules from January 2024 restrict dependent visas to Indian students on research-based postgraduate programmes only, typically PhD level. Regent’s University London taught masters and undergraduate programmes are not classified as research-based, so most Indian applicants cannot bring a spouse or children on the Student visa. Applicants should verify the current dependent rules on the UK Home Office site before applying.

Ques. Does Regent’s University London require an interview or portfolio for creative programmes?

Ans. BA Fashion Marketing and similar creative programmes at Regent’s University London may ask Indian applicants for a personal statement. Some studio-based courses request a small portfolio or design sample. A formal in-person interview is not standard for taught postgraduate business courses. Applicants unsure of the requirement for their specific programme should check the programme page or contact the admissions team directly.

Ques. How do Indian applicants get their transcripts verified for Regent’s?

Ans. Indian applicants upload scanned copies of Class 12 marksheets, bachelor’s transcripts and degree certificate through the Regent’s online application portal. The University assesses Indian qualifications in-house against UK equivalents and does not usually require a formal UK ENIC statement upfront. Original attested transcripts may be requested at enrolment; WES verification is generally not required for a UK Student visa or Regent’s admission.

Only TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, Duolingo , or the IELTS exam must be taken to demonstrate one’s effectiveness with the English language. There are no application fees for the master's program. The initial amount you need to deposit for the master's program will be mentioned on the offer letter. You can check Maters program at Regent's University for more information.
