UWE Bristol Acceptance Rate 2027
UWE Bristol acceptance rate sits at approximately 53% (estimated), placing it in the moderately selective band among UK modern universities. The figure reflects broad access at the undergraduate level with tighter filtering on flagship postgraduate and engineering routes.
The university does not publish an official acceptance rate; the estimate is derived from admissions cycle data patterns for comparable modern UK institutions. Selectivity varies sharply by course, with MBA, Data Science and Aerospace Engineering typically running lower admit rates than standard business or social science tracks.
Reality check: An Indian applicant with a 55% bachelor’s degree, IELTS 6.5 and clean documentation faces a strong likelihood of a UWE Bristol offer for most PG routes; competitive MBA seats favour candidates with three or more years of managerial experience.

UWE Bristol vs Peer Universities
The peer set below covers UK modern universities that overlap with UWE Bristol on Indian applicant funnels, tuition band and subject strength.
| University | QS Rank 2027 | Collegedunia Study Abroad 2026 | Avg Annual PG Fee (£ / ₹ Lakh) | Differentiator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) | #761-770 | #436 of 824 | £17,000-£18,500 (18.36-19.98 lakh) | Aerospace and sustainability strength; QS Sustainability top 12% |

| Coventry University | #611-620 (estimated) | NA | £19,850 (21.44 lakh) | Large Indian cohort and applied engineering focus |
| Manchester Metropolitan University | #861-870 (estimated) | NA | £19,000 (20.52 lakh) | Creative arts and sport science in Manchester |
| University of Portsmouth | #601-610 (estimated) | NA | £18,300 (19.76 lakh) | Coastal campus with maritime engineering |
UWE Bristol stands out for its aerospace and sustainability positioning, backed by a Frenchay engineering complex and QS Sustainability top-12% status. It undercuts Coventry and Manchester Met on PG tuition while sitting inside the same Graduate Route visa pathway.
UWE Bristol suits Indian students seeking a modern UK research campus at moderate cost with strong aerospace, computing, data science, sustainability and MBA pathways. Total two-year investment of ₹45-55 lakh against an MBA salary median of ₹37.80-48.60 lakh delivers a workable ROI when paired with a two-year Graduate Route visa.
It is less well-suited to applicants aiming for a top-100 QS-ranked institution or a research-heavy Russell Group cohort (a formal association of 24 UK research-intensive universities). Those students should consider University of Bristol or University of Manchester as realistic alternatives.
UWE Bristol FAQs

Campus Life
- There are two campus maily FRENCHAY campus and the GLENSIDE campus. Glenside campus mainly have medical related courses, and all the other courses are in frenchay campus.

There are several societies on campus for extracurricular activities, like the dance society, etc. The campus has a vast library on about two or three floors. There are several sports facilities on the campus.
Fees
- Total tuition fees for my program were 16,500 pounds. If we add the visa charge, the health surcharge fees, and other costs, it will be around 22,000 pounds. We need to show about 24,000 pounds in our bank before going to the UK.
