- ` and rule needs ≥2. Adding a stack-rules list.
- Standard indicative MS tuition (Data Science): £18,000 (INR 23.15 Lakhs) for one year.
- Same course after the £4,000 International Student Scholarship: £14,000 (INR 18.01 Lakhs).
- Same course after the 50% Chancellor’s Scholarship: £9,000 (INR 11.57 Lakhs).
- Next hard deadline: GREAT Scholarship closes Friday, 1 May 2026, 23:59 GMT.
- Chevening and Commonwealth block combination with other tuition-covering awards, so a UWE Chancellor’s holder must drop the 50% waiver to accept either.
- Inlaks layers freely on top of a UWE partial award because the Inlaks grant targets living costs, not fees.
- J N Tata pairs cleanly with any UWE tuition rebate; the loan-scholarship structure treats it as an income-linked top-up, not a duplicate tuition grant.
UWE Bristol offers 8+ scholarships, of which 7 are accessible to Indian applicants. Awards range from a £2,500 tuition rebate to a full 50% postgraduate fee waiver. The India-focused GREAT Scholarship covers £10,000 and one seat opens each year.

UWE Bristol Scholarships for UG Students
Two institutional awards stack for Indian undergraduates. Both are open to international fee payers holding a full-time offer. Neither is course-restricted at the department level, though a short excluded list applies to franchised programmes.
| Scholarship | Amount | Eligibility | Deadline (2026 intake) | Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UWE Bristol Global Success Scholarship | £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs) per year x 3 years, total £9,000 (INR 11.57 Lakhs) | International UG fee payer with an offer; not held by sponsored students or holders of another UWE discount | 14 days from personal invite; September 2026 intake | Auto-invited via Welcome Portal after offer |
| UWE Bristol International Student Scholarship | Up to £4,000 (INR 5.14 Lakhs), first year only | International UG fee payer, assessed on grades, personal statement and references | Rolling; tied to offer date | No application; the award is offered once the study place is accepted |
The Global Success award is the larger of the two but requires yearly engagement work in student marketing or recruitment. Miss the engagement task in year two and the year-three tranche is not paid. Read the fine print in the Courses and Fees section before choosing between them.
Reddit Insight: Indian UG applicants report that the Global Success invite lands inside the Welcome Portal within two weeks of accepting a firm offer, so delaying that step past March pushes the invite past most family visa-planning windows.
UWE Bristol Scholarships for PG / Master’s Students
Postgraduate Indian applicants have the deepest scholarship pool at UWE Bristol. Four institutional awards stack against a typical £18,000 (INR 23.15 Lakhs) master’s fee. The Chancellor’s Scholarship is the single largest, at 50% off the year-one tuition.
| Scholarship | Amount | Eligibility | Deadline (2026 intake) | Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Scholarship | 50% year-one tuition, about £9,000 (INR 11.57 Lakhs) on a typical PG course | International PG offer holder with a first-class UG equivalent and IELTS or TOEFL evidence | Applications close May 2026; result 26 June 2026 (annual cycle) | Invited via Welcome Portal after offer; submit form and personal statement |
| UWE Bristol MBA Scholarship | 50% MBA tuition, about £9,250 (INR 11.90 Lakhs) on the £18,500 MBA | International MBA offer holder, 3+ years professional experience, first or 2:1 UG | Submit by May 2026 (tentative, September 2026 intake) | Three-question personal statement via Welcome Portal |
| UWE Bristol Postgraduate Success Scholarship | £2,500 (INR 3.22 Lakhs) on min £8,500 tuition paid; £3,500 (INR 4.50 Lakhs) if full tuition paid upfront | International PG taught offer holder, not sponsored, not holding another UWE discount | 7 August 2026 (final tuition-payment cut-off) | Automatic on qualifying tuition payment; no separate form |
| UWE Bristol International Student Scholarship (PG track) | Up to £4,000 (INR 5.14 Lakhs), first year only | International PG taught fee payer, assessed on grades and personal statement | Rolling; tied to offer date | Automatic; offered on admission |
The Chancellor’s Scholarship winner commits to an internship inside the International Office and to ambassadorial duty for the full course. The MBA award is similar but blocked for anyone with prior UK study exposure. Full terms sit inside the Admissions pack.
Reddit Insight: Indian applicants routinely flag that picking the £3,500 Postgraduate Success band (full upfront payment) nets £1,000 more than the £2,500 band, so families with liquid funds default to the higher tier once the CAS letter clears.

India-Specific Scholarships at UWE Bristol
One award is ring-fenced for Indian passport holders. The GREAT Scholarship pairs UWE Bristol with the British Council to fund a single Indian PG student every September intake.
| Scholarship | Amount | Eligibility | Deadline (2026 intake) | Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GREAT Scholarship India at UWE Bristol | Minimum £10,000 (INR 12.86 Lakhs) toward tuition | Indian passport holder, unconditional PG offer, first-class UG (CGPA 3.0 equivalent), not sponsored, not on another UWE discount | Friday, 1 May 2026, 23:59 GMT (shortlist 11 May, interviews from 18 May, result 22 May 2026) | 400-word personal statement plus form linked from the GREAT Scholarships page |
The award is one seat for India, matched by one for Egypt and one for Turkey. Selection weights the personal statement heavily; CGPA acts only as a shortlist filter. Winners take on ambassadorial duty for both UWE Bristol and the British Council through the year.
Reddit Insight: Indian GREAT applicants across cohorts note that the 400-word statement is the deciding stage, and that leading with a concrete post-course plan in India (not generic career goals) is what pulls interviews.
UWE Bristol PhD Scholarships
UWE Bristol funds doctoral study through project-specific studentships run by the Doctoral Academy. Each vacancy carries its own funding line covering tuition plus a stipend. Indian applicants are eligible where the studentship is marked open to international candidates.
| Studentship | Amount | Eligibility | Deadline (2026-27) | Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Doctoral Academy Funded Studentship, Water Governance Legal Frameworks (Ref 2627-OCT-CBL01, Bristol Business School) | Full tuition plus stipend (project-set, typically UKRI-aligned) | Relevant master’s, project-fit research proposal, international candidates where flagged | 16 August 2026 | Studentship-specific form via Doctoral Academy portal |
| Doctoral Academy Funded Studentship, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault at Work (Ref 2627-OCT-CBL02, Bristol Business School) | Full tuition plus stipend (project-set) | Relevant master’s, research proposal aligned to supervisor brief | 16 August 2026 | Studentship-specific form |
Studentship vacancies rotate through the year, so an Indian PhD candidate should watch the Doctoral Academy page rather than the general scholarships hub. Confirm international eligibility on the vacancy sheet before drafting the proposal. Current PhD students share stipend figures on the UWE Bristol Reviews feed.
External Government Scholarships for UWE Bristol Indian Applicants
Three UK government and Indian government routes pair well with UWE Bristol admits. Chevening and Commonwealth are the marquee full-funding schemes. The Inlaks and J N Tata awards top up living costs when a partial UWE scholarship already covers tuition.
| Scholarship | Amount | Eligibility | Deadline (2026-27 cycle) | Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chevening Scholarship (UK Government) | Full tuition, monthly stipend, return flights, visa fees | Indian citizen, 2+ years work experience, first-class UG, UK PG offer, return to India for 2 years | Tuesday, 7 October 2026, 11:00 UTC (tentative annual cycle; applications typically open August) | chevening.org portal application, references, four essays |
| Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship | Full tuition, monthly stipend, return airfare, thesis grant | Indian citizen, first-class UG (60%+ humanities, 65%+ STEM), demonstrated financial need, permanent Indian resident | Tuesday, 14 October 2026, 16:00 UK time (annual cycle) | Commonwealth CSC portal, endorsement via national nominating body (MHRD in India) |
| Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarship | Up to USD 100,000 across tuition and living | Indian citizen under 30, top UG record, UK PG offer | Tentative March to April 2026 (annual cycle) | Inlaks Foundation online portal |
| J N Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship | Loan-scholarship up to INR 10 Lakhs plus gift up to INR 7.5 Lakhs | Indian graduate with PG-abroad admit, income-linked | Tentative February to April 2026 (annual cycle) | jntataendowment.org online form and interview |

UWE Bristol Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions
Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack an Indian PG student can build at UWE Bristol?
Ans. The single largest UWE stack for an Indian PG student is the Chancellor’s Scholarship at 50% tuition, about £9,000 (INR 11.57 Lakhs) on a typical £18,000 course, plus the £3,500 (INR 4.50 Lakhs) Postgraduate Success top-up when full tuition is paid upfront. That combined pull-down brings the £18,000 course to roughly £5,500 (INR 7.07 Lakhs). External schemes like Chevening replace the UWE stack rather than adding to it, because Chevening blocks other tuition awards.
Ques. When should an Indian applicant target scholarship deadlines for the September 2026 intake?
Ans. Book the calendar around three fixed dates. GREAT closes Friday, 1 May 2026 and needs an unconditional offer in hand first, so an Indian applicant should hold a UWE offer by mid-April 2026. Chancellor’s applications run through May 2026 with results on 26 June 2026. The Postgraduate Success cut-off is 7 August 2026, driven by when full or £8,500-minimum tuition clears the UWE account.
Ques. Does an Indian student need to apply separately for each UWE Bristol scholarship?
Ans. Only two require separate forms. The Chancellor’s Scholarship and the MBA Scholarship both need a personal statement submitted via the Welcome Portal after admission. GREAT needs its own 400-word statement and application form. The International Student Scholarship, the Global Success award and the Postgraduate Success grant all trigger automatically, either on offer acceptance or on the qualifying tuition payment.
Ques. How competitive is the GREAT Scholarship for Indian students at UWE Bristol?
Ans. One award is ring-fenced for India each year against roughly the same shortlist that applies to Egypt and Turkey. The CGPA 3.0 floor screens in most first-class Indian graduates, so the 400-word statement carries the real weight. Selection prioritises applicants whose stated post-course plan slots into a defined role or sector back in India, over generic career goals. Interviews run from 18 May 2026 with a decision by 22 May 2026.
Ques. Does the UWE Bristol scholarship cover living costs in Bristol?
Ans. No UWE Bristol scholarship covers rent or maintenance directly. All institutional awards are tuition rebates. UKVI requires an Indian student to show about £1,483 per month for nine months, roughly £13,347 (INR 17.16 Lakhs) beyond tuition, in the visa account. Bristol single-room rents run £650 to £900 per month for 2026-27, so applicants stacking Chevening or Commonwealth cover living costs from the monthly stipend those schemes carry.

- The faculties are knowledgeable and helpful in academics.
- Good placement opportunities are provided, mostly unpaid, still worth the experience.
- The class schedules are not hectic, providing ample time for studies and part time work.
Dislikes
- The accommodation in this area is generally expensive, but campus accommodation is way too expensive.
- The campus life is not that lively. You need to find time outside of your study hours and part time work hours, which was a bit disappointing.
- After you secure the offer letter, the embassy will add students going to the same university to one WhatsApp group where you can mingle and ask doubts regarding the university. It is easier to befriend people based on their introduction. It is advisable to reach out to members in the same course or even the same community and look for housing options together. The rent in Bristol is very expensive. So it is suggested that you have other housemates to join you in the house, the rent will be too high. For a single person, one room is about 800 pounds, but if you rent a home together with friends, it will be reduced to 450 or 400. In university groups itself there will be ads for housing. My rent was around 450, including water, wifi, gas, and electricity bills. The house had all facilities like heating systems, a bed and furniture, a washing machine, etc.

- Job market after studies is not great
- Accommodation facility rental charges were comparatively very high compared to local availabilities, but worth the money, highly secured, easy access to university amenities, well-maintained lobby, 24/7 access to common communal areas and library, etc.
