Each year, the university receives admission applications from students across the world. It is a home for students from around 140 countries. As per university records, 22% of the total student body is international.
Academic sessions at the University of Essex begins in Autumn and Spring seasons with few courses in summer as well. Both undergraduate and graduate programs have different admission deadlines. Applicants have to check the program page to know the suitable date for application submission. However, international applicants are recommended to contact the admission office and submit their applications in advance.

The full-time academic session at the University of Essex begins in the Autumn, Spring and Summer seasons. The students may apply up to one year in advance for early decision.
Currently, admission through clearing is invited. Applicants are required to submit the Clearing Application Form.
International students belonging to nonnative English speaking countries must submit proof of English proficiency. For this, the applicants can submit the test score for any one of the following exams.

At the undergraduate level, applicants are offered more than 50 programs. The admission process for all the UG programs is similar. Before applying, applicants are advised to check the requirements issued by the university.

Admission Requirements: For UG admissions, the applicants must have Level 3 qualification. The country-specific equivalent score for the same are given in the table below:

At University of Essex, the admission requirements are similar for all the PG programs. For the convenience of international students, the country-specific academic requirements are given below:

The admissions office of the University of Essex reviews each application critically. Admissions are offered to students on the basis of their academic excellence, official test scores, supporting documents and an on-time application submission with the required fee (if mentioned in the site).
To avoid last-minute confusion, students are recommended to submit their applications 6 months prior to the application submission. Admission decisions are released as and when the applications are reviewed, post submission.
