- There are different clubs and communities, whether you are into sport, music, religion or even related to technologies. Like, AISoC is a really good club if you want to learn AI and love solving AI challenges.

- The Diversity - It helps when you have a diverse audience around. Especially to understand their perspective, their way of looking at problems, and their approach to situations.
- The Research - It is a less known fact about University of Southampton that it is a research power house! I've myself been involved in a few studies to help PhD students with their thesis.
- The Resources - University of Southampton had all the resources you need to flourish. Right from advanced labs to the most advanced gyms.
Dislikes
- Widespread Campus- While the city is rich in culture and vibrant, the university campus is spread across the whole city which might be a hassle for many
- Cost of Accommodation- I've lived at the university accommodation and while it is great, but super expensive!
- Culture Shock - While this not necessarily being an university problem, but it is a huge culture shock when you move to the UK from India. This is also reflected in the campus!
Campus Life
- The university has a total of 7 campuses in the UK and 2 abroad. Highfield Campus, Southampton; Boldrewood Innovation Campus, Southampton; Avenue Campus, Southampton; National Oceanography Centre, Southampton; University Hospital Southampton Campus, Southampton; City Centre Campus, Southampton; and Winchester School of Art, Winchester. Abroad: University of Southampton Malaysia Campus, Iskandar Puteri, Johor, and University of Southampton Delhi Campus, Gurgaon, India.
- The university has quite a few facilities – Hartley Library, 24/7 study spaces, sports complexes with gyms and swimming pools, health and wellbeing services, medical and dental centres, cafes, shops, student housing, and performance venues.
- Loads of campus festivals, including freshers week, the Culture Festival, the Southampton Arts and Humanities Festival, etc. Loads of stuff to do at Southampton Uni outside of lectures! They've got tonnes of sports clubs under "Team Southampton" and over 200 student societies covering everything from cultural events to gaming. You'll find something you're into, for sure!
Fees
- The yearly tuition fee was 26,500 GBP. You can pay in quarterly instalments. The instalments would depend on how much you pay upfront.
- Monthly expenses – Depends on your lifestyle. Since I was living at the university accommodation, it was a bit pricey. I was paying 650 GBP per month for accommodation and food (twice per day). You also get a bus pass in that for 9 odd months, which is great. Other expenses would be around 300 GBP.

- All are supported by the student hub and the students' union, where they'll be providing excellent services to fulfill the student's requirements.

- It differs year to year. For me, it's approx. 18,000 GBP. This year it may differ.
Dislikes
- The quality of education I expected as a non-technical student was way more than what is being offered, It is highly disappointing considering the hefty education loan we have to take before moving abroad. It is a mental barrier for students because the finances keep bugging them up, and it gets suffocating after a while, but with the right part-time job, it can be taken care of the only question here is will he or she will be able to do the right job.

- Campus life is what makes it worth it to come this far from home; it is undoubtedly the best time of our university life. we have so many different campuses with a huge library and world-class sports facilities with extensive support for each student and the offering of the best research platforms in the entire country .

- The University , infrastructure and the course is really good, and relevant for the future.
- University of Southampton belongs to the Russell Group of Universities, and has a high QS ranking.
- The faculty are very friendly and knowledgeable.

- We don't have a placement drive or in campus recruitment.
- We don't really get a chance for industry experience in my course from the University
- We have to research on our own, and apply for it
Campus Life
- The campus life is good; we meet with people from different nationalities and cultures. The University conducts many cultural and academic events throughout the year. There are many clubs of different varieties in the University. The University also has a Student Union.
- The University has a big library (Hartley Library) where you can study. It also has a number of PCs that you can use. There is also a Sports Hall (Jubilee Sports Hall) that has a badminton court, swimming pool, etc. There are many sports clubs also.

- The courses were prepared according to the industry standards which helps us to stay updated and learn
- The student accommodation facility was very helpful since it covered most of the student expenses in a foreign country. Ex: transportation, laundry

- The course assignments were a little too advanced. If you are a fresher from india and want to pursue cybersecurity, the assignments might be a little too tricky for you to figure out from the get go.
- While the campus itself has many ethnicities studying, my course had only 2 ethnicities.
- Not many career fairs were happening frequently. It happened for 2 consecutive days when i was studying and then none.

- My university has 9 campuses in total. Five in Southampton( Highfield campus, Avenue campus, Boldrewood campus, University Hospital Southampton, Waterfront campus, City Center campus, Winchester campus)one in Winchester, and two international branches in Malaysia and India.
- The university has a library, Gym, Sports hall, Swimming area, a NHS hospital, Clubs and societies etc. The university has many SUSU events throughout the year.
Fees
- The fees were £29852. In addition to that my accommodation fees were £512 per month. We can pay the tuition fees in three installments. One in October, One in January, One in April.
- The accommodation fees can also be paid in the same manner. My laundry, electricity ,and transportation in the city were covered in my accommodation fees and i felt it was very useful. Monthly expenses were only for your groceries and occasional recreation.
- Groceries for a month may range from £40-50, given that you take some Indian dry spices and packaged food from india. eg: Maggi, Spice powders, Dry fruits. Recreational expenses can also range from £50-100 depending on the person.

- Not a prestige MBA – If you’re after big-name recognition like LBS or Oxford, this isn’t it. The degree holds weight, but you’ll need to hustle to stand out.
- Networking - There are good industry connections, but recruiters won't approach you.
- Networking isn't automatic. You'll need to go to events and actively network often they also don’t help. It is tough to secure a sponsored job.

- Southampton has a lively campus experience with plenty of events, fests, clubs, and extracurricular activities, though how much you engage depends on your schedule. The university has multiple campuses, but for MBA students, most activities happen at Highfield Campus, which is the main one. There's also the Avenue Campus for humanities and Boldrewood Campus for engineering and maritime studies.
- The campus has solid facilities, including a huge library, well-equipped sports complexes, medical services, and career support offices. The Hartley Library is where most students spend late nights before deadlines. The Jubilee Sports Centre has a gym, swimming pool, and various sports courts.
- Southampton has several big events, including the Freshers’ Fair, the Grad Ball, and cultural festivals hosted by student societies. The Students’ Union (SUSU) runs tons of clubs and societies, ranging from business networking groups to sports teams and cultural societies.

- The teaching methods were always to the point, with appropriate examples to make it easier to understand
- They were keen on research and practical driven learning, which helped me in grasping the concepts.
- All the faculty members and the other students or staff were very helpful in every way possible, be it educational or general guidance around the university norms.
Dislikes
- The timetable was a bit odd, I would have a lecture at 9am and the next one would be at 4pm so the time in between was a bit hard to manage as there wasn't enough time to go home and come back. However, there was only 2 such days in a week so it wasn't that big of an issue.
- Even though the routes for the commute were fairly straightforward, the bus service provided by the university was a bit low in terms of frequency - we only had 1 bus every 30-40 minutes or so.
- There was a little lack of clarity on the mode of examination at times (whether online or offline), in some cases, we would find out only 2-3 days prior to the exam.
Campus Life
- My University has 3 campus. They are Highfield Campus, Boulderwood Campus, and the City Center Campus.
- The facilities available are Hartley library which is one of the best and oldest libraries across all UK universities. There is a huge sports facilities with Swimming, Gym, Badminton and many other sports. We also have UHS (University Health Sevice) on campus.
- We have over 100 clubs and pretty much the same amount of events. At any given day, there is atleast 1 event happening in or around our university. I took part in a few myself - the color fun run, the fresher's week, etc.
- There are many sports activities for both individual or team sports, at either the university level or even intercity level. There are various cultural events as well, like bollywood night, chinese new year celebrations, diwali, etc.
Fees
- The total course fees was around GBP 27000. This included the tuition fees, library fees, etc. However, it does not include the sports membership, that is to be bought separately. I hadn't taken campus residence so it wasn't included in this.
- The fees were charged in 3 installments, which was more or less semester-wise.
- In terms of the monthly expenses, it was around GBP 650, with the rent being GBP 500 (120 per week) and the other costs like groceries, sim card, transportation being around GBP 150.
Likes
- Hartley Library: It has the books required for your course so that you save money on the cost of study material. It has lots of seating and you can book a room on the website to study with your mates. There's a Starbucks within the library along with vending machines which makes long study sessions better.
- Accommodation: Student Halls are well maintained and the rooms are great. There's a weekly cleaning service included in your rent for the common spaces you would share with your flatmates. Your rent also includes utilities (electricity bill, water bill, laundry, etc.) These halls are safe and only authorized students and staff are allowed to enter. Plus, by staying in University accommodation, you get free bus rides in Unilink!
- Cafes and restaurants: There are lots of options for cafes and restaurants at various locations on the campus. The Arlott is a great place to meet your friends for a catch-up or meet your professors over a coffee. The Avenue cafe is also a great spot and is a nice place to grab a quick bite between classes.
Dislikes
- Less faculty contact: Lectures in PG courses are weekly and there are very few chances to speak with your professors/advisors unless you seek them out specifically. But it may differ for different courses or professors.
- Southampton city: It's a quiet city and there's not much happening all the time. Other than the City Centre, there aren't many hub spots. It can get dull at times.
- High cost of living: Unless you're living in student accommodation, it'll be difficult to save on living expenses. The general cost of living is not cheap.

- Some of the major campus events include fresher's welcome, scholar's event and Stag nights. The university also celebrates through clubs regional festivals like Diwali and Holi.
- There are several extracurricular activities going on at all times at the campus because of the large number of clubs. Some clubs have weekly meet ups and some have monthly or however they require. Water sports are a speciality at Southampton as it's a coastal university with a waterfront campus. The SUSU is the student union organization that oversees the events and clubs of the entire student body and provides student support in all areas, including international students support.
