Durham University university invites applications for Fall and Winter sessions.

It is ranked as the 5th best college in the UK according to the Guardian University guide of 2020 and internationally as the 78th best college, according to the QS World Rankings, out of 100 universities. Students aiming for undergraduate courses must apply through the online portal. Undergraduate applicants are advised to write an effective personal statement to ensure their application stands out.

  • The university follows a collegiate system, with 16 college communities. Applicants should make sure there are no overlaps in applications among different colleges within the university.
  • DU offers part-time as well as full-time courses.
  • The undergraduate applications are handled through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service of the UK while post-graduate applications are to be sent through the Durham University portal.

Durham University Admission Deadlines

Applicants are advised to apply at least two weeks before given deadlines to be considered for admission. The application deadlines for different undergraduate and postgraduate programs are not specified. The university has different dates for opening the applications for different courses – applicants should apply as soon as possible.

Durham University Undergraduate Admissions

Durham University offers over 100 undergraduate courses to all the applicants. There are course-specific entry requirements and some require the previous study in certain subjects. To be admitted, an applicant must satisfy both the program and university requirements. The specific requirements for certain popular courses are shared in the table below.

English Proficiency Test Score for International Students

The university accepts IELTS, TOEFL, CPE, CAE and PTE scores for a proof of English proficiency. The minimum English requirements for applicants from non-majority English speaking counties for most programs are listed below.

Study Permit/Visa Process for International Students

Students who are accepted into Durham University will need to get a Tier 4 Student Visa in order to study in the UK. To get this visa, students will have to immediately apply after being accepted, with their offer letter and the visa application form. They will need to have enough money to cover both tuition fees and the living coast od the first year of education at Durham. For the application, they will need –

  • A valid acceptance confirmation for studies – CAS, from the university
  • give proof of financial support in the form of a bank statement

Durham University Graduate Admissions

Application Requirements:
