University of Greenwich fees for Indian students range from £17,975 (INR 23.16 Lakhs) per year for undergraduate degrees to £18,700 (INR 24.09 Lakhs) for postgraduate taught programmes, with the MBA at £20,800 (INR 26.79 Lakhs). The most popular Indian applications sit in MSc Data Science, MSc Business Analytics, and the Global MBA.

You are looking at the January 2027 intake, which is postgraduate-only at Greenwich, and the September 2027 intake, which is the next full-programme cycle. Both bill at the confirmed 2026/27 rates for entry, with September 2027 shifting to the 2027/28 rate that is set by the university in early 2027.

  • Undergraduate international: £17,975 (INR 23.16 Lakhs) per year for most BSc/BA programmes.
  • Postgraduate taught, standard: £18,700 (INR 24.09 Lakhs) per year.
  • Business and computing PG band: £19,450 (INR 25.06 Lakhs) per year.
  • MBA (Global, Finance, Marketing, Sustainability): £20,800 (INR 26.79 Lakhs) per year.
  • International Scholarship Award: automatic minimum £2,500 (INR 3.22 Lakhs), up to £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs), September intake only.

An Indian student on the standard 1-year MSc will spend about INR 48.65 Lakhs total for tuition, London living, visa, and health surcharge in Year 1. A 3-year BSc totals roughly INR 1.42 Crore before scholarships.

Exchange rate used across this page: 1 GBP = INR 128.82 (source: xe.com, 25 July 2026).

September 2027 Intake: Your Planning Window

Intake: January 2027 is open for PG-only entry and is the last window that fresh applicants from India can realistically hit given 3-8 week UK Student Visa processing. September 2027 is the main UG and PG intake and where most Indian applications land.

Fee update: The January 2027 intake locks in at the published 2026/27 rate: UG £17,975 (INR 23.16 Lakhs) and PG standard £18,700 (INR 24.09 Lakhs). September 2027 will move to the 2027/28 rate that Greenwich publishes early in 2027.

When to pay: The £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs) tuition deposit is due within 28 days of your offer to secure your place and unlock the CAS process. Full timing sits in the Tuition Deposit and Payment Options section below.

Scholarships: Greenwich’s International Scholarship Award is NOT available for the January 2027 intake, so a January entry means paying full sticker. The award reopens in monthly windows through 2027 for the September 2027 intake. Indian external awards (Inlaks, JN Tata, KC Mahindra) run their windows between January and April 2027 for September 2027 entry.

University of Greenwich Tuition Fees by Programme

Greenwich prices international students per programme, not by a single flat rate. Nursing and midwifery sit at the top of the UG band, while most BSc/BA and MSc programmes cluster in the standard bracket. Business, computing, and the MBA carry a small premium.

Undergraduate Fees at University of Greenwich for Indian Students

Standard three-year BSc and BA programmes are billed at £17,975 (INR 23.16 Lakhs) per year for 2026/27. The nursing and midwifery band is £19,400 (INR 24.99 Lakhs) per year to cover clinical placement costs.

Postgraduate Fees at University of Greenwich for Indian Students

Most MSc and MA programmes sit at £18,700 (INR 24.09 Lakhs) per year. Business, management, and computing programmes carry a £750-£2,675 premium, reflecting the higher lab and placement costs on those courses.

Note: Greenwich bills the MBA and the "higher band" MSc programmes annually at the same rate as the standard PG, plus a fixed uplift of £750-£2,100. Confirm the exact number on your specific course page before you plan cash flow, since Greenwich sometimes adjusts a single course inside a band without moving the whole band.

University of Greenwich Fee Year by Intake for Indian Students

Which fee year applies to you depends on when you start, not when you apply. The January 2027 intake and the September 2026 intake both bill at the 2026/27 published rate. September 2027 shifts to the 2027/28 rate that Greenwich publishes early in 2027.

Source: University of Greenwich, Course tuition fees 2026-27. Greenwich does not publish a public multi-year archive of prior international fees, so we do not print unverified historical figures here.

UK universities set international fees annually with no statutory cap. Once you start, the annual fee typically holds for your programme’s duration under Greenwich’s fee-continuation practice, but a small annual uplift can apply, so confirm this in your offer letter.

Key Insight: Starting your MSc in January 2027 locks in the 2026/27 rate of £18,700 (INR 24.09 Lakhs). Waiting for September 2027 means paying the 2027/28 rate, which at the UK sector’s typical 4-6% uplift would add roughly INR 1.0-1.4 Lakhs to your one-year MSc. Weigh that against the fact that January 2027 does NOT qualify for the International Scholarship Award, which is worth up to INR 3.86 Lakhs and is available for September 2027.

Cost of Living in London for University of Greenwich Indian Students

Budget £1,483 (INR 1.91 Lakhs) per month for living in London while studying at Greenwich, which is the UKVI-mandated minimum for a Student Visa in a London course provider. Greenwich campuses (Greenwich, Avery Hill, Medway) all fall inside the UKVI London zone for maintenance calculation.

Total£1,483INR 1.91 LakhsINR 22.92 LakhsMatches UKVI London maintenance minimum

Source: UK Visas and Immigration Student Visa maintenance requirement for London course providers, with typical Greenwich campus splits from student accommodation guides.

Note: The UKVI figure is a visa-minimum, not a lifestyle number. Students living close to central London (Zone 1-2 private flats) more realistically spend £1,700-£1,900 per month, so build a INR 2-3 Lakhs annual buffer if you plan to live in Zone 1-2 or eat out often.

Medway campus in Kent is materially cheaper than the two London campuses. Postgraduate programmes in engineering, pharmacy, and sports science sit at Medway, where rent runs £550-£700 per month against £850+ in London.

Currency Tip: Your first instalment of tuition plus your rent deposit is your biggest single INR outflow. Move the money in tranches (a 50% chunk 6-8 weeks before intake, the balance 2-3 weeks before) rather than in a single wire, so a bad rupee day does not price your whole year. Use a forex card or Greenwich’s Flywire portal, both save 2-3% over a raw SWIFT transfer.

Total Cost of Studying at University of Greenwich for Indian Students

A 1-year MSc at Greenwich costs an Indian student approximately INR 48.65 Lakhs all-in for Year 1, including tuition, London living, visa, and health surcharge. A 3-year BSc totals about INR 1.42 Crore across the full programme.

Mandatory Fees = UK Student Visa £490 (INR 63,122, one-time) + Immigration Health Surcharge £776 (INR 99,964) per year of visa. IHS is paid in a single upfront lump: £2,328 (INR 3.00 Lakhs) for a 3-year BSc, £776 for a 1-year MSc. UG living uses 10-month term basis; PG uses 12-month full-year basis.

Across the full programme, a 1-year MSc totals roughly INR 48.6-49.6 Lakhs, an MBA totals about INR 51.3 Lakhs, and a 3-year BSc totals INR 1.42 Crore. Funded with a 10-year INR 40 Lakhs education loan at 10.5%, your monthly EMI works out to approximately INR 54,000; a INR 50 Lakhs loan is roughly INR 65,000-70,000 per month over 10 years.

Key Insight: For a September 2027 MSc, you can pull the top-band International Scholarship Award of £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs). That single lever cuts your Year 1 all-in from INR 48.64 Lakhs to INR 44.78 Lakhs, roughly a 7% reduction. Lock the deposit in the earliest 2027 monthly window that Greenwich opens to secure the automatic £2,500 (INR 3.22 Lakhs) minimum floor.

University of Greenwich Scholarships for Indian Students

Greenwich’s flagship award for Indian students is the International Scholarship Award, a tuition discount of £2,500-£3,000 (INR 3.22-3.86 Lakhs) available for the September 2026 and September 2027 intakes. It is application-based, not automatic, and runs on monthly award windows tied to the deposit deadline.

External India-Side Scholarships for University of Greenwich

Indian students also stack an external award on top of their Greenwich offer. These four are the most commonly held for UK master’s funding.

Confirm exact 2027 dates on each foundation’s site closer to the window, as they publish the cycle in late Q4 2026 or early Q1 2027.

Tip for Indian Students: For a September 2027 Greenwich MSc, submit the International Scholarship Award application in the earliest 2027 award window your offer allows, and stack an Inlaks or JN Tata application in the December 2026 to March 2027 window. The Greenwich award only covers Year 1; the Indian external awards can cover living costs on top, so treat them as complementary, not alternatives.

University of Greenwich Tuition Deposit and Payment Options

Greenwich requires a £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs) tuition deposit to secure your place and unlock the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies, the document needed for the UK Student Visa). The deposit counts toward your first-year tuition and is non-refundable except in limited circumstances such as visa refusal on grounds outside the applicant’s control.

Methods to Pay Tuition Fees at University of Greenwich

  • Flywire (recommended): Greenwich’s official international payment portal. Pays in INR from an Indian bank account, better rate than a raw SWIFT wire, no hidden bank fees.
  • Bank transfer (BACS/SWIFT): Standard telegraphic transfer to Greenwich’s UK bank account. Slower and typically 2-3% costlier once forex margin and correspondent bank charges are counted.
  • Credit or debit card: Accepted for deposit and full fee, but Indian card limits (typical LRS annual cap and per-transaction ceilings) usually make Flywire more practical for the full amount.
  • Forex card: Practical for the deposit portion; savings of 2-3% versus a raw wire once conversion spread is netted.
  • Education loan disbursement: SBI, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Credila, Avanse and Auxilo directly disburse to Greenwich via Flywire or SWIFT against your CAS and offer letter.

Steps to Pay the Tuition Fee for International Students

  1. Accept your Greenwich offer through the applicant portal within the offer window.
  2. Pay the £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs) tuition deposit via Flywire within 28 days of the offer date.
  3. Receive your CAS from Greenwich after deposit is cleared and finance checks are complete.
  4. Apply for the UK Student Visa. Show maintenance funds and pay IHS at the visa stage.
  5. Pay the balance of tuition on the instalment schedule: 50% at registration, then the remaining 50% across up to five monthly instalments.
  6. Keep every payment receipt, Flywire trace ID, and bank statement. UKVI can request them at the visa or at re-entry stage.

Source: University of Greenwich, How to pay your fees. Greenwich does not currently publish a full-payment discount for international students, so paying upfront gives no fee reduction.

Tip for Indian Students: For a September 2027 start, pay your £3,000 deposit at least 8-10 weeks before your intended CAS issue date. Bank transfers from India can take 2-5 business days to clear, and LRS documentation (Form A2, Tax Collected at Source paperwork) adds another 2-3 days at your bank. A deposit that lands late pushes the CAS, which pushes the visa, which risks the intake itself.

Hidden Costs of Studying at University of Greenwich

For a September 2027 Greenwich start, the two costs that catch Indian families off-guard are the upfront IHS lump and the rent deposit, both due weeks before you land in the UK.

  • Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS): £776 per year (INR 99,964), paid as a single lump at the visa stage: £776 for a 1-year MSc, £2,328 (INR 3.00 Lakhs) for a 3-year BSc. Not billed monthly.
  • UK Student Visa fee: £490 (INR 63,122), paid once at visa application.
  • Priority Visa service (optional): £500 (INR 64,410) extra for 5-day processing versus 3-8 weeks standard. Worth it if your intake is 5-8 weeks away.
  • Rent deposit: 4-6 weeks of rent upfront, typically £900-£1,300 (INR 1.16-1.67 Lakhs) for London halls, £600-£800 (INR 77,000-1.03 Lakhs) for Medway.
  • Initial setup: Warm clothing, kitchenware, bedding, mobile SIM, first grocery run all together average £600-£800 (INR 77,000-1.03 Lakhs) in the first fortnight.
  • IELTS or PTE retake: INR 17,000-17,500 per attempt if your score falls short of Greenwich’s minimum on the first try.
  • Bank transfer and forex costs: 2-3% of every INR-to-GBP move, easily INR 40,000-60,000 across the year across tuition instalments and living-cost transfers.
  • Return flights (annual): INR 60,000-1,00,000 per round trip Delhi/Mumbai to London.

Budget approximately INR 5-7 Lakhs for first-year hidden costs on top of tuition and monthly living for a September 2027 start.

Note: Indian families most often forget the IHS lump. It is charged in a single payment at the UK Student Visa stage, not spread across the course. For a 3-year BSc, that is a one-shot £2,328 (INR 3.00 Lakhs) hit at visa application, on top of the £490 (INR 63,122) visa fee and the £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs) tuition deposit already paid to Greenwich.

University of Greenwich Fee Saving Strategies for Indian Students

The single most valuable saving lever for a September 2027 start is capturing the top-band International Scholarship Award in an early monthly window. Miss that, and no other Greenwich lever comes close to matching its INR 3.86 Lakhs impact.

  • Apply in an early 2027 award window: The scholarship uses monthly windows through 2027. Applying in a March or April window with the deposit paid on time typically secures the top £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs) tier rather than the £2,500 (INR 3.22 Lakhs) floor.
  • Choose Medway over London when your course allows: Rent at Medway is £250-£300 per month cheaper than London halls. Over a 12-month PG stay, that saves INR 3.9-4.6 Lakhs.
  • Claim UK Section 87A-equivalent under Indian Section 80E: Interest paid on a qualifying education loan is 100% deductible from taxable income under Section 80E for 8 assessment years, with no upper cap. On a INR 50 Lakhs loan, that saves INR 1.2-1.5 Lakhs annually in Indian tax after you begin repayment.
  • Use the UK Graduate Route Visa: Completing your Greenwich master’s grants 2 years of post-study work rights in the UK. Even at a modest £30,000 (INR 38.65 Lakhs) starting salary, that pays down INR 50-60 Lakhs of loan principal within the visa window.
  • Work part-time on your Student Visa: Up to 20 hours per week in term, full-time in vacation. London minimum wage at £12.21/hour delivers roughly £950 (INR 1.22 Lakhs) monthly at 20 hours, comfortably covering food and transport.

Tip for Indian Students: For September 2027 entry, the highest-value single move is timing your deposit to fall inside a top-tier Greenwich award window plus submitting your Inlaks application by its March 2027 deadline. Combined, these two levers can cut your Year 1 outflow by INR 8-15 Lakhs, materially more than any accommodation or forex saving you can chase later.

Is University of Greenwich Worth the Cost for Indian Students

At INR 48-51 Lakhs all-in for a 1-year Greenwich MSc, the maths works if you complete the Graduate Route and hold a UK role for 18-24 months post-study. The university is QS-ranked #791-800 for 2027 and THE-ranked 601-800 for 2026, so the return case rests on London placement outcomes, not on rank-driven prestige premium.

The two anchor return points for an Indian graduate: Greenwich is ARWU-ranked 51-75 globally in Hospitality and Tourism Management and 151-200 in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, both subject-heavy fields with strong London employer demand. The Graduate Route currently permits 2 years of post-study work for master’s graduates.

On loan maths, a INR 50 Lakhs loan at 10.5% over 10 years translates to an EMI of roughly INR 65,000-70,000 per month. A London entry-level analyst or associate salary in business, computing, or supply chain sits at £32,000-£38,000 (INR 41-49 Lakhs), leaving comfortable EMI coverage after tax and living. On lower-paying paths (public sector, some social sciences), the EMI-to-salary ratio tightens quickly, so scenario-model the course before committing.

Key Insight: For a September 2027 MSc in the business or computing band, net cost after the top International Scholarship Award drops your Year 1 outflow to roughly INR 45.75 Lakhs. Held against a realistic first-year London salary of INR 41-49 Lakhs, that gives a loan payback horizon of about 4-5 years post-Graduate Route, well inside the standard 10-year loan tenure.

Check University of Greenwich Rankings and Subject Position

For the January 2027 PG intake, budget INR 48-50 Lakhs all-in at full sticker, since the International Scholarship Award does not apply. For September 2027, apply in an early Greenwich award window to secure the £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs) scholarship and stack an Inlaks or JN Tata application in Q1 2027 to bring effective Year 1 outflow to INR 42-46 Lakhs. Finance the balance through an INR 40-50 Lakhs education loan under Section 80E, and the Graduate Route pays it down inside its 2-year window on a mid-tier London salary. Lock the deposit early, since a late deposit is the single most common reason Indian Greenwich admits miss the visa cutoff.

University of Greenwich Fees FAQs

Ques. What is the total cost of a University of Greenwich MSc for Indian students?

Ans. A 1-year MSc at Greenwich totals approximately INR 48.65 Lakhs all-in for Year 1, covering the £18,700 (INR 24.09 Lakhs) tuition, £17,796 (INR 22.92 Lakhs) London living for 12 months, £490 (INR 63,122) visa fee, and £776 (INR 99,964) IHS. The business, computing, and MBA bands run INR 49.6-51.3 Lakhs.

Ques. Is Greenwich cheaper than other London universities for international students?

Ans. Yes. Greenwich sits in the lower half of the London fee spectrum. Most London Russell Group universities charge £28,000-£38,000 (INR 36-49 Lakhs) per year for PG programmes, versus Greenwich’s £18,700-£20,800 (INR 24-27 Lakhs). You save INR 10-25 Lakhs per year on tuition alone.

Ques. Does University of Greenwich offer scholarships to Indian students for the January 2027 intake?

Ans. No. Greenwich’s flagship International Scholarship Award is not available for the January 2027 intake and cannot be deferred from a September 2026 offer. It reopens in monthly windows through 2027 for the September 2027 intake, offering £2,500-£3,000 (INR 3.22-3.86 Lakhs).

Ques. How much is the tuition deposit at University of Greenwich and when is it due?

Ans. The deposit is £3,000 (INR 3.86 Lakhs) and is due within 28 days of your offer. It counts toward Year 1 tuition. Paying the deposit unlocks the CAS, which is required to apply for the UK Student Visa.

Ques. What is the fee for the University of Greenwich MBA for Indian students?

Ans. The Greenwich MBA (Global, Finance, Marketing, and Sustainability pathways) is £20,800 (INR 26.79 Lakhs) for the 2026/27 academic year, applicable to the January 2027 intake. All-in Year 1 cost including London living, visa, and IHS is approximately INR 51.34 Lakhs.

Ques. Can I pay Greenwich tuition fees in instalments?

Ans. Yes. International students pay 50% at registration, with the remaining balance split across up to five monthly instalments. There is no full-payment early-bird discount, so paying upfront gives you no fee reduction.

Ques. How much should I budget for living costs in London while studying at Greenwich?

Ans. Budget £1,483 (INR 1.91 Lakhs) per month, which is the UKVI London maintenance minimum and matches a modest student budget. Realistic Zone 1-2 living runs £1,700-£1,900 (INR 2.19-2.45 Lakhs) per month, so build a INR 2-3 Lakhs annual buffer if you plan to live centrally.

Ques. Does Greenwich charge an application fee for international students?

Ans. No. Greenwich does not charge an application fee for direct international applications at UG or PG level. UG applicants routed through UCAS pay UCAS’s own fee (around £28.50, INR 3,672), not Greenwich.

Ques. What is the exchange rate assumption used across this fee guide?

Ans. All INR figures on this page are computed at 1 GBP = INR 128.82, sourced from xe.com on 25 July 2026. INR values in your offer letter and Flywire invoice will vary daily with the live rate, so leave a 2-3% buffer when planning transfers.

Ques. Can I use the UK Graduate Route Visa after a Greenwich master’s?

Ans. Yes. Master’s graduates from Greenwich are eligible for the UK Graduate Route Visa, currently granting 2 years of post-study work rights in the UK. This window is the primary loan-payback mechanism for Indian students financing the degree at INR 40-50 Lakhs.

  • I opted for off campus housing which was 15 minutes from campus and also a student accommodation which was very highly recommended. Met the most amazing people and actually got to experience actual international university life from there. It was not very affordable but not completely expensive as well.
  • They provided a lot of activities and facilities like a theatre, a community hall with games, mini golf a gym and an amphitheater as well which was perfect for bonding and making friends

  • I stayed at the university accommodation, and it was really good, the area and all the facilities available. It found it on the university website. I paid 142 pounds per week. All the facilities were included, like WiFi, electricity, water bill, etc.

  • The accommodation is a very fun place to be, especially for international students to fit in. The staff also seems to be very friendly with students and helps them if needed.

  • I found my accommodation in London through a website called "University Living". I got myself an en suite bedroom in London Zone 2, for roughly 800 GBP every month.
  • The best part about living in the accommodation was its brand-new construction. The entire building was newly constructed, which meant I was the first person to live in my room. The renting company "Your Tribe" offered free Wi-Fi, a games room, a house party every month, and most importantly a gym. The reception was open 24 hours to ensure security at all times.
  • Thankfully, I did not face any challenges while looking for accommodation in London, as the entire process was frictionless. The only caveat was I had to pay my entire rent of 5 months in a lump sum. However, the staff was very welcoming and I even made some great friends at the building.
  • If budget permits, I would totally recommend Chapter living or University Living for students seeking accommodation in London, as they not only provide great rooms but also a community to build connections with.
  • The University of Greenwich is 2 miles away from the accommodation I lived in. The accommodation is situated in South Bermondsey, Southwark. I knew other people from Greenwich who stayed in the same building. However, most of my friends opted for the University Accommodation although they moved to other places later.
  • Note: I lived in this accommodation for 5 months. Currently, I live in East London with my sister and brother-in-law. I am attaching the pictures of the accommodation below.

  • I got a private accommodation here; I searched for it online only.
  • For me the rent is about 450 GBP and Im living in zone 2 of London
  • It’s pretty hard to find an accommodation in this budget in London but if we have enough time to do fieldwork, it means we can get it
  • Yes. I advise students to get private accommodation here, as the student accommodation is so costly.
  • My accommodation is just 30 minutes' travel from college and I'm in a place called Ilford, where most of the Indians stay.

  • I found my accommodation through personal and family sources.
  • I paid 650 GBP per month, inclusive of all bills.
  • The accommodation felt expensive at first since I was in the habit of converting INR to GBP.
  • Just one recommendation: make sure that your accommodation is secured before you travel.
  • Accommodation was about 75 minutes away by the tube. Most Indian students end up staying in Kingsbury/Wembley/Kenton/Harrow, etc.

  • I opted for off-campus accommodations. I found this accommodation through my friend. The monthly rent was 430 per head and billed another 30 pounds for a month. It was separated from the actual rent. Facilities included electricity, gas, wifi, a washing machine, a backyard, and heaters.
  • I would like to say to future students: find accommodation through friends and ask them to go and check if you found any accommodations and have proper communication before paying the deposit and rent. For me, it takes 40 minutes via train to reach my campus, and it costs around 2.50 pounds for a one-way trip.

Reflecting on my overall experience at University of Greenwich, I can say it was a transformative journey filled with growth, learning, and memorable moments. The rigorous academic curriculum pushed me to expand my knowledge and develop critical thinking skills. Engaging with professors who are experts in their fields and participating in diverse courses provided a strong foundation in my chosen discipline. The learning helped me actually implement and solve real problems on ground in business/work life. Building relationships with peers, professors, and alumni was one of the most rewarding aspects. The sense of community and the diverse network of individuals I connected with have provided lasting friendships and professional contacts. College was a time of significant personal growth. I learned to manage my time effectively, balance various commitments, and navigate the challenges of independence. These experiences shaped me into a more resilient and adaptable individual. In summary, my time at University of Greenwich was a pivotal chapter in my life. It was a period of intense learning, personal growth, and unforgettable experiences. The knowledge and skills I gained, along with the relationships I built, have prepared me well for my future endeavours. I look back with gratitude and pride for being part of such an inspiring and supportive academic community.

The overall experience is quite good considering the quality of education as it is much more practical also it feels up to date with industry standards. Also some of the modules requires coursework which is more researched based which widens the knowledge and gives a student an opportunity to use the knowledge they received. In terms of placements, all the Universities lack these as they cannot provide the placement.
