There were only a few companies that has visited like wipro , capgemini and others. There is a less in take. According to my knowledge the highest package was 6lpa and least was 2lpa. My plans are to find a job at off campus that is what my seniors suggested

Placement Experience:

This college provides you with a lot of placement opportunities if you have that willpower then you can also get there as these companies have their own level of steps some come up only with L&T, cognizant, Infosys, etc. and so many for the students. In my batch mechanical students got more placement opportunities.

Placement Experience:

Due to ongoing recession, there are very less placements. Whatever placements we get all are from IT companies . There are very less placements in hardware but it is increasing year by year. From 4th year onwards depending upon company eligibility we get selected and we have to write exam. Some of them are online while some are offline exams. Software companies that visited are Flipkart, Candela, PWC and some other companies. In hardware sector, Moschip, adobe chips, Samsung. The highest package in my college is 2700000 and lowest is 260000. Usually 60 percent of them will get placed but due to recession only 30 percent of them are being placed. My plans are i want to do jobs in vlsi based companies.

Andhra University Visakhapatnam: 1 Answered Question

What is your review of Andhra University?

Sakshi Gupta
Ishaan Vasisth,M.Tech Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (2019)

One of my friends graduated from Andhra University. According to him, it is very reputed among students as well as professionals. But like every other institution, it also has its fair share of positives and negatives. Let me share them with you which you can analyze later on.

Pros:

  • It is one of the oldest universities in the country, hence has a great alumni network.
  • The student intake in each department is 30-60, which benefits the student-teacher interaction.
  • Each department has its own dedicated library consisting of several books, magazines, journals, and other study materials.
  • The campus is huge, covering 600 acres.
  • They have the biggest sports ground. Students are also provided with a gym and basketball court.
  • The entire campus is wifi enabled.

Cons:

  • The placements are average. The number of companies visiting the college has gradually decreased.
  • The lab equipment is not well maintained or upgraded.
  • Andhra University follows the age-old curriculum with little to no changes.
  • Students are told to put more emphasis on theoretical learning than practical.
  • Exams are mostly based on theories rather than practicals.

Overall, it is an above-average institution. It may not be like the IITs or NITs but still works well. It is suggested that you opt for this only if you have missed the opportunity to study in the IITs or NITs.
