Course Curriculum Overview:

I totally understand that you want a more detailed response. Let me break it down for you: 1. Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of power electronics, with a special focus on choppers. It covers topics such as reverse time for diodes, turning off diodes and MOSFETs, and the definition of IGBT. The curriculum is structured to ensure a deep understanding of the subject matter and its practical applications. 2. Faculty-Student Ratio: The faculty-student ratio is quite favorable. With a smaller class size, you can expect more individual attention from the faculty members. This allows for better interaction, personalized guidance, and a supportive learning environment. 3. Faculty Qualifications and Teaching Methods: The faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in the field of power electronics. They hold advanced degrees and have expertise in areas such as choppers, inverters, cycloconverters, and mo

Andhra University Visakhapatnam: 1 Answered Question

What is your review of Andhra University?

Sakshi Gupta
Ishaan Vasisth,M.Tech Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (2019)

One of my friends graduated from Andhra University. According to him, it is very reputed among students as well as professionals. But like every other institution, it also has its fair share of positives and negatives. Let me share them with you which you can analyze later on.

Pros:

  • It is one of the oldest universities in the country, hence has a great alumni network.
  • The student intake in each department is 30-60, which benefits the student-teacher interaction.
  • Each department has its own dedicated library consisting of several books, magazines, journals, and other study materials.
  • The campus is huge, covering 600 acres.
  • They have the biggest sports ground. Students are also provided with a gym and basketball court.
  • The entire campus is wifi enabled.

Cons:

  • The placements are average. The number of companies visiting the college has gradually decreased.
  • The lab equipment is not well maintained or upgraded.
  • Andhra University follows the age-old curriculum with little to no changes.
  • Students are told to put more emphasis on theoretical learning than practical.
  • Exams are mostly based on theories rather than practicals.

Overall, it is an above-average institution. It may not be like the IITs or NITs but still works well. It is suggested that you opt for this only if you have missed the opportunity to study in the IITs or NITs.
