MANUU MBA FAQs
Ques. Is the MANUU MBA taught in Urdu medium only, or can students write exams in English/Hindi as well?
Ans. The MANUU MBA programme is primarily offered in Urdu medium, which is the university's core mandate as a Central University established for the promotion of Urdu language and education. However, students from non-Urdu backgrounds are also admitted, and the university makes provisions for instruction and examination in Urdu. Students who are not fluent in Urdu may find it challenging initially, but the faculty is generally supportive. It is strongly advisable for prospective students to have at least a working knowledge of Urdu before joining, as most study material, lectures, and examinations are conducted in Urdu.
Ques. What is the pattern of the MANUU MBA Entrance Test, and how should I prepare for it?
Ans. The MANUU Entrance Test (ET) for MBA is an offline, pen-and-paper based examination. The test typically covers sections on General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Management Aptitude. The question paper is generally of moderate difficulty. Since MANUU does not accept CAT/MAT scores, candidates must specifically prepare for and appear in the MANUU ET. Previous year question papers (available on the MANUU website and through student forums) are the best preparation resource. The test is conducted at the MANUU campus in Hyderabad.
Ques. What are the career prospects after completing an MBA from MANUU, and which sectors hire MANUU MBA graduates?
Ans. MANUU MBA graduates find opportunities primarily in the banking and financial services sector, FMCG, IT services, consulting, and public sector undertakings. Given MANUU's location in Hyderabad, a major business and IT hub, graduates benefit from proximity to a large corporate ecosystem. Top recruiters visiting the campus include Genpact, Cognizant, Wipro, Amazon, HDFC Bank, and Reliance Jio. The median salary for PG graduates at MANUU stood at Rs. 7.2 LPA in 2023-24 as per NIRF data. Additionally, many MANUU MBA graduates pursue careers in government services, education, and entrepreneurship, particularly in Urdu-medium educational institutions and minority-sector organisations.
Ques. Is hostel accommodation guaranteed for MBA students at MANUU?
Ans. Hostel accommodation at MANUU is available for both boys and girls on the main campus in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. However, hostel allotment is subject to seat availability and is not guaranteed for all admitted students. Students who wish to avail hostel facilities must apply separately through the MANUU hostel allotment portal after admission. The hostel fee is approximately Rs. 7,850 per year (including mess advance). Students who do not get hostel accommodation can find private paying guest (PG) accommodations in the Gachibowli area at reasonable rates.
Ques. Can I pursue the MANUU MBA while working, or is attendance mandatory?
Ans. The MANUU MBA is a full-time, regular on-campus programme, and attendance is mandatory as per university norms (minimum 75% attendance is required to be eligible for examinations). It is not designed for working professionals. MANUU does offer an MBA in ODL (Open and Distance Learning) mode through its CDOE for working professionals, which has a more flexible schedule. Students interested in pursuing an MBA while working should consider the ODL mode instead of the full-time regular programme.
Ques. What is the difference between the MANUU MBA (Full Time) and the MANUU MBA (ODL) offered through CDOE?
Ans. The MANUU MBA (Full Time) is a regular, campus-based 2-year programme with mandatory attendance, classroom instruction, and a structured semester system. It is offered by the School of Commerce and Business Management (SCBM) at the Hyderabad campus. The MANUU MBA (ODL) is offered through the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) and is designed for working professionals who cannot attend regular classes. The ODL mode has a more flexible schedule with periodic contact classes and self-learning material. Both degrees are awarded by MANUU and carry equal recognition, but the full-time programme offers better campus placement support and networking opportunities due to the residential nature of the course.
