- Here the faculty is very nice they are ready help when students need there help
- Here placements is so good and many top companies are approaching to the college students here having good opportunity for the placements average placements is about 13lakhs per annual combining all branches
- Many scholarships like fcc, nsp and others are student welfare related and do help the students alot.
Dislikes
- Scholarship are there for weak section of society.. my fees is somewhat between 140000 to 150000 years as i didn't receive any scholarship or anything.
- The hostel facility is not that great, there is a food problem in terms of taste and water problem in terms of hygiene, there are some issues with the internet also.
- The attendance criteria is really strict and the behaviour of the professors are not good

- Campus is very beautiful and greenish with 20-21 lakes in the campus.
- Professors are so good and supportive. They solve every doubts of every student.
- Hostel is also good and with facilities such as water purifier and guessers etc.
Dislikes
- Ragging is still happening there and no professors or someone can stop the powerful seniors.
- Bribery is an issue there. We have a technical fest named technoesis, in which there are some technical events in which students can participate and win cash prizes. This cash prize is never disbursed to the winner. Organisers and Dean take it.
- Sports facility is not good there. Roughly 2-3 equipments are working in the college GYM
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for placements in the 7th semester itself. Big companies like google microsoft amazon accenture visit NIT Silchar for placements and offers enormous number of opportunities to students.
Highest package this year was 55 lakhs and avarage is about 11 lakhs.
Percentage of students getting placed this year has fallen down due to recession conpares to last year to 65%. While last year it was 88-89%

- I liked the lush green campus of NIT Silchar which is an open campus spread across 625 acres with approximatiely 25 lakes and plenty of trees and greenary.Purity level of air is worthnoticing,waste disposal and cleanness is remarkable and significant
- Proffesors are very helpfull and friendly,with excellent knowledge in their respective domains.Love the way they teach and make us undestand the complex topics by brraking it into small bits,some even holds top 2% scientists position worldwide..
- I liked the friendly behaviour of seniors and classmates,Fully free of ragging,friendly seniors and fully open with juniors,no forcefull treatment or bullying
Dislikes
- Paricularly the repititive meal,which infact is a problem in every college
- Long distance between class and hostel which becomes trouble in the case when one misses the bus
- Out of skirt location makes difficult for studentd to meet some needs whicha are not available nearby
Placement Experience:
Campus placement is the main reason i decided to join this college,last year the average package of CSE is close to 20 lakhs(keeping recession in mind),and overall package is 13-14 plakhs per annum with an outstanding median of 14 lakh per annum,almost all big product based companies and service based companies along with PSUs comes in our college for campus placements.More than 600+ job offers have been provided with an acceptable placement rate.

- I am extermely very disappointed with the hot climate .
Course Curriculum Overview:
course is very old typical in style . In exam they were asking same question as they have given in old previous exams . In this way i rate the course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness.

- Things I like about my college is it's beautiful and cleane environment. Every morning and evening I got to see most beautiful sunrises and sunsets of my life.
- The study environment, students thier are really helpful and supportive, they always help each other whether it for exams, financially help or when you fall sick they always help each others and that's the most best thing I liked about this college.
- Teachers and professors are very friendly in nature and always Ready for help in studies and if they they can also provide personal tutoring.
Dislikes
- Less connectivity, as a north east college it is very difficult to find handy things around college.
- Network issue, it is one of the greatest disadvantage of the college having network issues.
- Less number of daily needs shops, we have to go main town to buy clothes and other essential things.
Course Curriculum Overview:
the B.Tech course curriculum is comprehensive and job-oriented, but it requires timely updates to stay relevant. While the foundational principles are well-taught, there is a need for more practical exposure and industry-aligned courses. Teaching methods should shift towards interactive, student-centric learning, and exams should test both theoretical and practical knowledge. Despite these areas for improvement, the curriculum provides a solid foundation for academic pursuits and career growth

- I did not like the food ,weather ,water and health facilities
Placement Experience:
From 7 th semister onwards the student will be eligible for the placements percentage of students placed is about 80
I like to go to another countries for mtech to get better opportunities so that I can earn more salary

- The campus is very green and very less polluted compare to other colleges.
- Placement here for ECE branch is very good.
- Seniors are very helpful. They provide information in every aspect possible
Dislikes
- Quality of mess food is not par with the standards
- There is no main gate in college so it feels weird sometimes
Placement Experience:
Placements opportunity is quite good here at NIT SILCHAR. On campus placement starts just after 3rd year. You can get internship after 2nd year itself. All major companies visit here like google,microsoft, jp morgan etc. Total around 700 offers were made last year.

- Faculty is good and friendly the really interact a lot
- Many cultures and customs in the collage are good

- Since it is a old collage we cannot get good infra
- Even the collage is big but everything is filled with lakes
- Library is not open all the time in the collage

- Campus is lush and green, rich in biodiversity. You can support different varieties of flora and fauna in the campus. Can also spot jackals at night
- The placements are really good because it's an Institute of national importance
- The seniors are really friendly. It's a ragging free campus
Dislikes
- The library is only open till 5 PM and closed on weekends.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is really good pairing you to face the industrial world outside. I'm still a first year student so can't really talk much about it but yeah the college provides really promising placements and the teaching methods are really relevant so far.

- Big Campus area: Our college has pretty big campus area around 625 acres. Lot of places to roam
- Lush green campus: Our college has lot of trees and greenery + its location make it pollution free AQI here is 9

- Academic Pressure: Course is pretty competitive and stressful
- Cultural Adjustment: Students from different parts of India may face Cultural adjustments
- Location: Our college is located in a relatively remote area of Assam

Students are eligible for placements after 3rd year means 6th semester.
Companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, JCB, SONY ETC companies comes here for campus placement like this year Microsoft gave 40 lpa package in nour college
As of 2023 highest package was 80lpa from CSE and average salary was 14.39 lpa
Total percentage of students placed was 89.41%
I would like to do my own business after my college degree and make my own company
