Good, we have a long way to go. We were recently declared as the 16th best Law college in the country via NIRF.
NLUJAA is one of the finest universities of North East India in terms of law. The administration is friendly and cooperative.
The only criteria to get into NLUJAA is to crack CLAT and get a rank above 2000. The application for CLAT generally begins on the first of January and ends on the 31st of March. The exam is held on the second Sunday of May. The course for the entrance comprises of GK, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Maths and English.
The placement is decent enough. You get an average package of 5_6 lakhs per annum through in campus placement. Two of our students secured AIR 5 and AIR 9 respectively in the recently released Merit List of South Asian University. One of them would be joining the Legal Studies program at the prestigious University with Merit Scholarship (Full Tuition Fees). Another final year student has been offered admission to the prestigious LLM program in Queen’s Mary University situated in London, United Kingdom. The recently passed-out batch has got convert offers for LLM from Berkley Law School, Cornell Law School, Kings College London and School of African and Oriental Studies, London. Five students of NLU Assam have secured top ranks in CLAT (PG). One student has been offered job by Wadia Ghandy & Co. The rest are preparing themselves for UPSC and Judiciary exams The college however does not provide for internships you have to find it on your own.

A college/university is only what the students make it, and it cannot grow until and unless the students take an initiative.
Merit is one of the most important factors that became instrumental in making me go fir this university and besides that Northeast of India is the place to be due to rich diversity that must be embraced.
Evolving' is the word I'd like to take recourse to. There is a well established Recruitment and Internship Coordination committee which is presently in full fledged action and with time the University will boast of a nice placement structure.
On June 29, 2020, CLAT Consortium of National Law University (NLU) conducted a meeting to finalize the dates for CLAT, this year. As of now, Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020 has been deferred and scheduled to be held on August 22. The registration process is open fro
