Situated in the state of Chattisgarh in India, Bastar University needs no introduction. It is one of the new and outstanding universities of the country and lies in the Jagdalpur area of Bastar, within easy reach of most people living in the major cities and towns of the state. With 5 different Departments in 2 Schools of study, the Vishwavidyalaya has over 100 staff and faculties and over 150 students. The library at the University is one of the most well furnished of libraries in the whole country. Books as well as journals are available under each and every academic discipline that is taught over here. The library is also one that is entirely computerized. The digital archives can be accessed with ease by students from the comfort of their own homes as they will be provided with a username and password which they can use to access the online catalogue.
This facility exists for women as well as men students and are situated a few kilometres away from the main university area. The hostel rooms are well furnished and electricity and water supply is provided for the whole twenty four hours in a day. There is a mess where students can consume their daily meals and there exists even a playground.
These events see not only students from the university participating but students from other Indian universities taking part as well. Competitions are usually quite stiff and only the best are selected for participation
