IKSV Course Admission 2026: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Ans. No national entrance exam is required for IKSV admission. The university conducts its own Aptitude Test for all programmes. JEE Main, CUET, NEET, and state-level exam scores are not accepted at IKSV.

Ans. BPA at IKSV covers Indian classical music, dance, and theatre. Core (DSC) specialisations include Hindustani Vocal, Hindustani Violin, Sitar, Sarod, Tabla, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Folk Music, and Theatre. Light Music is offered only as a Discipline Specific Elective (DSE), not a core specialisation.

Ans. There is currently no fixed upper age limit for admission to any programme at IKSV- UG, PG, or Ph.D. Per Chhattisgarh's Department of Higher Education letter no. F 17-95/2017/38-2 dated 15.08.2021, the upper age limit for admission to all programmes and courses has been relaxed.

Ans. Eligibility depends on the subject. For MA in Sanskrit, Hindi, or English: candidates need an undergraduate degree with a minimum of three years/six semesters in the concerned subject, with 45% aggregate and 50% marks in the concerned subject. For MA in Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology: any undergraduate degree from a recognised university is sufficient, with no specific subject-marks requirement stated.

Ans. For practical programmes (BPA, BFA, B.Voc, MPA, MFA), the Aptitude Test has two stages: candidates first perform their chosen art form before a faculty panel, then shortlisted candidates attend a viva. Final merit is based on both stages combined.

Ans. The application/prospectus fee is INR 1,500 for Indian students and INR 3,000 for Foreign/NRI students. Fees must be paid via cheque or cashless mode (online payment link available on iksv.ac.in) in favour of "Registrar, Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya," payable at Khairagarh.

Ans. Final-year graduation students may apply provisionally for MA at IKSV. Admission is confirmed only after submitting the final marksheet. The marksheet must show minimum 45% aggregate and 50% in the relevant subject.

Ans. IKSV follows Chhattisgarh state reservation norms: ST (32%), SC (12%), OBC (14%), and PwD/differently-abled (3%). Additional reservations apply: Foreign/NRI students (10%), children of Indian workers in Gulf countries (5%), and students whose parents were transferred from other states to Chhattisgarh (10%). A 5% marks relaxation in minimum eligibility applies to SC and ST candidates only.

Ans. Confirmed schemes include the Post-Matric Scholarship (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS students, via the National Scholarship Portal, OTR registration mandatory), a scholarship for financially constrained talented young artists/students, and the Azim Premji Scholarship (for girl students, up to INR 30,000). Sangeet Natak Akademi, Ministry of Culture, and Chhattisgarh State Merit scholarships could not be confirmed from official IKSV sources in this audit.

Ans. Required documents: self-attested mark sheets and certificates of qualifying exams, self-attested date of birth proof, original character certificate, original transfer certificate, original migration certificate, photocopy of Chhattisgarh domicile certificate, photocopy of Aadhaar card, photocopy of prospectus fee receipt, and category certificate for reserved-category applicants. An affidavit is required if there's a gap between sessions. Foreign/NRI students additionally need an AIDS clearance certificate and a valid student visa.
